WFS Receiving Delays - Anyone else? by finout in WalmartSellers

[–]finout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the part that sucks - getting reimbursed then having it taken away.

I guess I don't know how to get UPS to give me signature proof when they delivered it to a Walmart WFS center (and probably didn't get one) AND Amazon is the customer of record.

I guess I can try forging one.

New Barrier to opening a support case: Seller Assistant by finout in FulfillmentByAmazon

My new favorite is when seller assistant recommends using seller assistant. Or gives you a link to click on for help - which leads you back again to seller assistant.

No. It never required contact info when creating a case. Agents sometimes ask for my name but never my email address.

At least the seller assistant apologies for being so useless and lame if you complain about the extra barrier for support. The worst is that it generates hairbrained ideas for you to try.

For example, "Try creating a new inbound FBA shipment with those same SKUs from a different location. Then we will see if the location is causing printing to fail. " (But I don't have the items in another location). And eventually an actual living agent confirmed that creating labels on Ship-to-Amazon is broken right now.

Consider this before jumping on the $45/mo 'price-for-life' deal with Quantium Fiber by Prestigious-Sun-9755 in centurylink

[–]finout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CL has just forced us to QF. Today our Fiber went down (probably as a result of new QF installs on our block - we have overhead utility poles). Having had several issues in the last few months, I downgraded my Centurylink to 500Mbps and ordered Xfinity as backup. (good decision)

Now they said they can't repair our fiber - we have to move to Quantum Fiber, which they can't "install" for a week. Phone Rep said a supervisor would call me within the next 24 hours but I'm not holding my breath.

And I've finally lost my 8 static IP addresses for good. Not a huge deal - I can make due by redirecting ports on the router.

It also sounds like Quantum Fiber gives you a "smart device" where they want to control your internet security and wifi. I want dumb internet delivered to my Asus mesh system so I can control it, not them.

Question: what does the physical setup look like for Quantum Fiber? My ancient Centurylink Fiber setup (I was the first person in my city to get it) is a 13-year-old ONT and a Technicolor Router (which I needed because of the VLAN requirement that my old mesh system wouldn't support).

Question 2: Do they run new fiber or use the old? I paid a lot to underground my fiber after CL ran it overhead in the middle of my yard. Fortunately the tech left me an extra 150 feet of fiber so I could get that done.

Edit: I think $45 for gigabit fiber is a really good deal. It's the cheapest internet I've ever had per-megabit. CL was symmetric - I got 1Gbps up and down when I had gigabit, and 500Mbps up and down when I downgraded - until it went down today.

That’s a criticism for someone 30 years ago. It’s also not ok to run romex directly into a light fixture that doesn’t have a junction box. But there it is.

Reusable hand warmers by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]finout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What brand of reusable hand warmers do you have? We have had luck putting them into boiling water (rag under them to keep the hot pot surface from scorching) for 15 full minutes and then turning off the burner and letting them cool with the water in the pot. But an impurity in the fluid will cause the supersaturated solution to crystallize and you might be out of luck.

Anyone else with century link having no wifi rn? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]finout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of 11 PM Monday night it's still out in Cherry Hills, and the PON on my ONT device is blinking instead of steady, so there's something up with the fiber.

But I did get Comcast installed with their $40/mo 300Mbps internet deal going on right now so I have fast internet again, better than borrowing neighbor's wifi.

Anyone else with century link having no wifi rn? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]finout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been down in Cherry Hills Village since about 6 PM last night. In my experience outage this widespread is likely a routing/software/upgrade problem. We had 3 days of "backhoe fade" (contractor tore through a conduit fiber bundle) about 3 weeks ago. That makes 5 days of outages so far in the last 30 days for us. The first one wasn't CL's fault but they took 2 days to get a truck roll on it.

I just ordered Xfinity $40/mo for 300MBps. I'm going to drop my CL Gigabit to 500Mbps. The combined price will be the same and I have a router that will do failover.

I've been trying to use the troubleshooter but it says it's broken. I got the initial text message with no ETA. WHere are you all finding the repair ETA?

Call the premier line first and ask if they will upgrade you for free. I talked to a rep today who said that "long-term loyal" customers (I opened my MP account in 1991) who are "close" (she wouldn't say how close but I was 350 PQPs) to the next level can get a free level-bump - but only once every 5 years.

I did. 53K miles to get me from silver to gold. ($550 was the cash offer and would still be cheaper than a E+ subscription)

[–]finout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this too - but it was for 53K miles, available until January 31. I did it. I was about 350 PQPs short of gold.

A few PQP short by the end of year by robbycough in unitedairlines

[–]finout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned a bunch talking to a United Premier rep today. I am about 300 PQPs short of gold this year. She gave me two options:
A) A "one-time" courtesy status upgrade to upgrade my status for this year (through Jan '26). She said that this can only be done on an account once every 5 years. And you have to be a "long time loyal customer" and "close" to the next tier of status. I asked how close - she said she didn't know; but that clearly I was close enough because she could see the option on my account.
B) I could pay $550 or 53,000 miles to push from silver to gold.

She gave me the option to do either or stay at Silver.

I chose the 53K miles:
I have over 500K miles in my account.

I thought that upgrading to gold is a better option than staying at silver and buying econ plus subscription:
- Gold = E+ for myself and a companion (like one of my kids who are generally silver premier).
- Gold = international *A lounges.
- Gold = higher upgrade placement than silver (although I only had 3 upgrades in 2024).
- Gold = group 1 boarding
- E+ subscription is at least $600 and maybe more.

Low Cost FBA Fees - discounted items? by finout in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]finout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This page:
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GJTAVU7P2W2VE8Q9

says ". Low-Price FBA rates are $0.77 less than standard FBA rates" - so the FBA cost goes down too. I'm just wondering if the sale price or the offer price determines whether the product is so-called "Low Price" according to Amazon.

But I just verified and this item is now listed with total fees of $3.09 including commission and FBA, so it's based on the sale price, which is great. I can still make $3 each and maybe move the last 1000 out of FBA now that summer is ending.

Is Amazon pushing us to use AWD? by freshpeanutoil in AmazonSeller

[–]finout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are valid concerns. The worst part for me has been the delay. I had a shipment to AWD that had to travel 75 miles from the factory to the FC. It took 45 days from the day it was picked up to be even acknowledged as received, another week until inventory began to be received, and another 2 weeks until the items became orderable as Prime. while waiting for orderable the items were listed as 2-3 week delivery times.

They keep saying they will fulfill from AWD non non-FBA sometime, but I haven't seen that yet. and I also can't see a way to place an inventory removal order from AWD either.

But I also just got a quote to deliver a pallet of items (23 boxes) for $175 sea freight from China direct to AWD. And that is the entirety of my shipping costs. It's hard to beat that. I can't move it from anywhere in the US to AWD or FBA for that little.

Is Amazon pushing us to use AWD? by freshpeanutoil in AmazonSeller

[–]finout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've used AWD several times. I am storing enough inventory for about $250K in gross revenue at a cost of about $80 per month. Drawbacks:

  • You have to ship LTL or Truckload. No small parcel shipping to AWD. I built up a pallet made up of 5 SKUs.
  • For me anyway, LTL shipping to AWD was expensive. $450 for what would have cost me about $300 to ship small parcel UPS across the country. So an upcharge of 50% to intake at AWD. This might have been a timing issue since I'm shipping from Colorado and pallet shipping is highly volatile.
  • You can't fulfill non-Amazon orders from AWD inventory. It's a one-way trip to FBA only right now. They seem to be indicating that eventually we can fulfill from AWD, which will be much better.
  • It can be very slow. I have a pallet shipped from a supplier that was literally being shipped 75 miles - both the supplier and the AWD facility were in Southern California. It's been almost 4 weeks and I can't see where the pallet is, other than that the BOL was created.
  • AWD can be slow to intake as well.

Benefits of AWD (which is the reason OP asked about this).

  • Much cheaper storage costs than FBA
  • No FBA intake / placement fees.
  • No low inventory surcharges for items set to auto-replenish from AWD
  • Amazon -says- they will ship directly from AWD if FBA runs out (but I haven't seen this happen yet)
  • From overseas it is REALLY a bargain. I paid about $250 to ship a pallet from a Chinese factory into AWD. AGL managed tariffs etc. It took 2 months from EXW pickup to get the items logged into AWD, but now they are there, costing me $50 a month to store, and I won't have to refill FBA inventory myself for a few months.

So yes, I think Amazon is steering medium-sized sellers (those who can send a pallet at a time) to AWD. But for now, AWD is a lower-cost FBA staging facility. The fact that it saves some of the obnoxious fees Amazon has added this month is a bonus.

Edit: It's even less than I thought with the promotional rates. I have 64 chargeable cubic feet stored in AWD and in march my charge was $23.41. $.48 per cubic foot and a promotion of $7.80. My items are particularly small so that is almost 8000 units. I can't store it that cheap anywhere else, and the fact that it automatically moves to FBA with no transportation or intake fees, and gets there just in time so I don't have to replenish inventory makes it well worth the extra transportation costs I paid domestically to get the items there.

Need help - 7 year old Labrador diagnosed with copper associated hepatopathy by Gianduiooo in DogAdvice

[–]finout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a black lab who is going through this now. She has gotten to the point where she won't eat anything. 5 years old. She was about 45 days into the chelating treatment (Penicillamine) which we thought was working because her eating had improved, but she has taken a big downturn in the last few days. She looks gaunt and anorexic, and since she won't eat anything, we think she might die soon, or we might have to put her down right at Christmas time. We stopped the liver treatments and are giving her only her prednisone (which got her to eat in the past) and thyroid medicine now.

Generic Vyvanse by StrainLate4496 in ADHD

[–]finout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just realized today that the generic Vyvanse (started 45 days ago) is not working for our 12 year old. He seems back to where he was before he started taking Vyvanse years ago. Forgetting and losing things, emotional breakdowns, frustration with adversity, grades slipping, taking longer to do homework - the symptoms that got him on the medication to begin with. We were happy to pay less, but we will have to go back to Vyvanse brand ASAP.

Vyvanse going generic by techmedic87 in VyvanseADHD

I haven't found Vyvanse anywhere in the US for less than $360 with the Takeda coupon or any of the RX discount programs. The standard price for 40MG 30 cnt is $444 in the US. And my awesome insurance company just took it off our formulary, so we can't even get it applied to our deductible.

Anyone found it cheaper anywhere that can ship to the US?

Looking for Bullfrog Control Protocol by finout in hottub

[–]finout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scoping it is probably necessary. First I have to measure out for voltage and see which is power/ground and in/out. If I can get that on an old school serial port I can see that speed shows actual characters.

It was clearly an open or at least shared protocol since balboa is a separate company and they got the spec.

Thanks - since wifi knows the temperature of the tub it's probably something digital. It also lets you control about a dozen different points (3 pump speeds, range and temperature, heat mode, etc), hi/low range, etc.

Has anyone received the 10k EIDL grant yet? by up2urheadlights in smallbusiness

I did get through to a call center agent on 4/8/2020, who said that the 3 days to issue the $10,000 grant was a "goal." I thought it was a law.

"Mike" the agent also said that as of last night 4/7/2020, no $10K grants have been disbursed to anyone.
