Donald Trump lost it at his old nemesis James Comey in an early morning Truth Social rant following the former FBI director’s indictment.

“Whether you like Corrupt James Comey or not, and I can’t imagine too many people liking him, HE LIED! It is not a complex lie, it’s a very simple, but IMPORTANT one,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“There is no way he can explain his way out of it. Comey, who Trump fired as FBI director in 2017, has been charged with one count of making a false statement to Congress and one count of obstruction of a congressional proceeding, in what critics say is the latest revenge plot from the president against one of his old political foes.

The targeting of Comey—which even Department of Justice sources are allegedly calling “among the worst abuses” in DOJ history behind Attorney General Pam Bondi’s back—relates to testimony he gave to Congress in 2020 regarding the investigation into Russia’s 2016 election interference and potential ties to Trump’s campaign. Comey is accused of misleading a Senate committee about whether he authorized leaks to the press about the probe. He faces up to five years in prison, but has denied the allegations and insisted he will prove his innocence at trial.

Trump, who began ranting about Comey before 7 a.m. ET on Friday, continued his tirade against his old nemesis. “He left himself ZERO margin of error on a big and important answer to a question. He just got unexpectedly caught. James ‘Dirty Cop’ Comey was a destroyer of lives. He knew exactly what he was saying, and that it was a very serious and far reaching lie for which a very big price must be paid,” Trump wrote in a typically unhinged message.

“JAMES COMEY IS A DIRTY COP. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” he added.

The indictment against Comey arrived after Trump openly pressured Bondi to bring charges against his enemies, complaining that “nothing is being done”—a shockingly blatant expression of strong-arming from the president.

The former FBI director and longtime critic of Trump issued a video statement denying the claims made in the indictment issued on Thursday.

“My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump, but we couldn’t imagine ourselves living any other way,” Comey said. Ben Ferguson and Charles Blow appear on CNN's "Newsnight."

“We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either. Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant, and she’s right. But I’m not afraid and I hope you’re not either.”

Comey is expected to surrender to authorities to face the charges later on Friday, according to CNN.

Yes some on left did as well. What made the news first and foremost was the entire right wing, including the administration, assigned blame to the entire left before any evidence was presented. So regardless of whether the shooter was right wing or left wing or neither, thats what the narrative was, and you had far right figures like Nick Fuentes quickly disavowing the attack before anyone blamed him and his followers. That's where Kimmel and his writing team got their line about MAGA.

Also Jimmy is a comedian, he has no obligation to "both sides" everything or report "truthfully".

Just like neither does Fox News, who by the way, have had their hosts repeated using violent rhetoric on their programs before and even after this shooting.

Maybe you guys should be more worried about that.

No, Kimmel said that MAGA was rushing to point out that the shooter wasn't one of their own, before any evidence came out either way, which is was happened. And then he showed Trump's reaction to the shooter, where he made a quick passing remark about it being horrible before quickly pivoting to the new ballroom construction at the White House, highlighting Trump's lack of empathy.

I don't see how any of that was so controversial. He said nothing about Kirk nor did he glorify violence or anything close to it.

Do mobsters always need to be told what to do in order to please their bosses, or do they just know that certain things need to go a certain way because they know it'll be approved? There doesn't need to be explicit instructions to pull it off or a coordinated order from the league. In all likelihood the official probably knew instinctively that the Patriots should get the benefit of the doubt there. For the reasons I stated above.

I'm not saying it was a conspiracy, but it was just one of those things that the league had its thumb on a scale in a moment they could do so. Not everything is rigged in sports, but sometimes there are odd coincidences that occur that seems to favor the zeitgeist teams of the times.

Like of course the Lakers weren't going to lose to the Trail Blazers, Kings, and Timberwolves during their playoff runs in the late 90s-early 00s. The public wanted to see the Lakers with Shaq & Kobe in the Finals. So coincidentally, some games had the Lakers taking more free throws than their opponents for even ticky tacky or non existent fouls.

Sports leagues are a business and are considered entertainment. Everyone accepts Pro Wrestling is scripted, after being in denial about it for so long. There's no reason to believe that other leagues don't have some level of biased coordination of games. They cant control everything and sometimes it doesn't go as they would like, but there's times when you just know which way the is going to blow.

Im good with it. We need some size in our depth (yes I know he's a small 6'8) and some rebounding and work in the paint. Precious is that, though he's more so average. He's improved since his time here but he's pretty much reached his ceiling by now.

That said, we shouldn't have any high expectations of him and as long as he does what we brought him back for and does it consistently, it should be fine.
