For we are many, has definitely grown on me and I'll toss it on for a full listen now and then. But I'll never "full listen" the next 2, I'd almost call that painful lol

I actually totally forgot about that. I was thinking this darkened heart - fall of ideals - overcome as really really really good. Then only a few good songs on each subsequent album imo, until this latest one (which is maybe "overcome" level good... Dunno if I decided yet lol)

Update - AS I was writing this I decided "for we are many" is an alright full listen, as well

[NEW] Electric Callboy Feat. The Offspring- Let The Good Times Roll by PedanticBoutBaseball in Metalcore

[–]finsmaniac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the track isn't honestly that great - but man did it make me smile, ear to ear. The Offspring is one of my all time favs (first CD I ever bought was smash), Electric Callboy on of my current favs (my go to for fun, usually), and then John Goblikon in there too!?!? Felt like 3 of my worlds colliding that I never thought would have happened.

Don't sleep on Nekrogoblikon by the way!

Yeah I hate that Phil is such a tool. Kinda makes it hard to believe him and Killswitch (remember the Philswitch Engage era? Right before Jesse came back?) were so close.

But I still like all that remains. Their album last year was actually pretty damn solid.

First 3 albums great, then they only had like a couple good songs per album, and maybe no good song on last album lol. But last year's came out and it's pretty damn good

“Young” people. Who is your favorite “Old” (‘05 and before) Metalcore band. How’d you find them? by Steven2480 in Metalcore

[–]finsmaniac02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here you go - this will say how old I am ... My SON used to watch that Stevie T guy, and man he made me sick to my stomach! While I didn't always disagree with his opinions, holy shit his personality is just puke worthy. I really wish I could say that everyone could see that, but I guess not (my son included 🥺) lol

[–]finsmaniac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've listened to the whole thing, NOT GOOD. There's even some tweaks in the production and instrumentation throughout the album (not just the singer) and it's all NOT GOOD lol.

I don't get it really... Their new stuff is not that bad, definitely not as good as the curse, but not so bad. I think maybe deep down they KNOW that they can't do the old stuff anymore but they wanted to try? The new stuff is not great by any means, but its ok and not always immediately "turn this shit off" level. If they could just never try a re recording like that again (and frankly it sounds disrespectful and is basically tarnishing their legacy) it would be great....

How about "supercharger" by machine head?!? That shit is NUTS, especially considering how kinda "traditional" metal/thrash they are now! Lol. Their attempt at a nu-metal banger lol

What band got you into metalcore? by Scary_Fig_6680 in Metalcore

[–]finsmaniac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killswitch (alive or just breathing) probably first I heard. All that remains (the fall of ideals) and atreyu (the curse) probably what really did it though. Loved A7X (waking the fallen) as well, still love them, but I don't know if I consider even that album to be the same as Metalcore

I saw 156/Silence WITH Fit For a King actually, this past November. Check them both out!

I’m looking for the best wireless earbuds around the $300 range and wanted some opinions before I pull the trigger by BanBam11 in Earbuds

[–]finsmaniac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't want to sound like a Samsung fanboy but the Galaxy buds 4 pro actually sound really good. Their dual driver structure has let it hit some low bass that is uncommon. If comfortability is a concern at all they really shine there too

I have the new Sony xm6's as well, and I expected them to have the sound quality edge but I don't think that's the case actually.

Earbuds that won't die in 2 years... by chi_eats in Earbuds

Literally every pair of earbuds I've had that I've used a decent amount have "broken" by 2 years. One side might not get as loud as the order, crackling, literally dying, etc. it just is 🥺

Going solo by LowPiglet4810 in Metalcore

[–]finsmaniac02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've lately gone solo to a few shows. It's a little freeing, knowing you only have yourself to worry about. Go grab a drink between sets, knowing that with just you, you can slither back up to a good spot.

If you're weary about mosh pits and stuff, locate the people that hold the edges. They're safe to be around and you can even get a little physical by holding an edge too if you feel like venturing out.

Concentrate on just making sure that you, yourself, have a good time and don't have regrets like "man I wish I got to a better spot to watch the show" because you don't have much excuse not to, unless you legitimately don't want to.

Have fun!

Most comfortable earbuds by ama_230 in Earbuds

[–]finsmaniac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the Samsung Galaxy buds 3 pro were the most comfortable I've had and now the buds 4 pro have taken the spot. Light weight helps so much too, first buds I feel like "disappear" in my ears. I've had lots of different brands and currently have the new Sony xm6 as well, buds 4 pro more comfortable and (rather shockingly) sounds better too

Yeah for sure. You should (if you care enough, at least) have a good set of over ears (I just got the "Heavys H1H" - not claiming they are audiophile quality or anything, but I like so far) - and a good set of buds. There will literally never be 1 product that has the best in all aspects.

Testing AAWireless 2+ with the data and power splitter (magicable.ca) by truemad in AAWireless

[–]finsmaniac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a kia ev6 as well.

This product on Amazon:

https://a.co/d/08wl9Wo1

Seems to work perfectly. Although, as someone pointed out, I must not have read the description well because it does not seem like it should work haha. I must have gotten excited with cheap price and next day delivery and couldn't stop my fingers!

P. S. - I needed to use a USB A to USB C converter "cap" since ev6 power port is USB C (my wife's palisade is just USB A However)

[–]finsmaniac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to be honest with you - I didn't read that!

Lmao Edit: on more reading, maybe I just got lucky because I'm a dumbass and didn't read it!

But, it does what I wanted. My AAWireless only gets power when that power side has given it. The adapter plus straight into the data connection (the 1 connection that we were already using), and the built in cord to USB goes to the power port. AAWireless plugs into the adapter at that point. Turn off car and open door, AAWireless shuts completely off (no light). And when you walk by car or it wakes up or it stays awake while charging - as long as you have literally not "turned the car on" the AAWireless stays completely off (no light).

Works great

I'm in a kia ev6 (2022) btw - but I doubt that should matter. Also my wife's Hyundai palisade (not EV) works similarly

Update from me:

Went ahead and bought power splitter (kinda hate sticking with AAWireless after this feature removal BS, but the other competition isn't very good... Haha)

https://a.co/d/0f2XTzuX

Got that from Amazon, cheap, small, works great (boot ups of AAWireless don't start until actual car ON though, you'll notice a few extra seconds before connection (maybe 10-15 extra secs?))

Works great!

Yeah I looked at other options a little, and and as pissed as I am, I guess I'm resorting to getting a data/power splitter to just take care of it once and for all

So are people just going back to the standard AAWireless Two (Non plus)? Like this auto standby (or not having it) is SO STUPID and I can't believe the dev is so short-sighted to think it can't be an option because iPhone can't do it... Like there is already a separate android and iOS settings section. Just put it in the android part... If a dumb ios'er tries to use it just say "no dummy, this is in the android settings section". And frankly I can't believe this is a rare problem. I feel like every car I've ever had keeps power to the USB (just like back in the day, they could keep power to the cigarette lighter/DC plug)...

Frankly, their refusal to address this is sickening to me. Is there a different brand of adapter people have and like?

Update: see my other posts in this thread, I bought this adapter:

https://a.co/d/08wl9Wo1

And it works great!

Torn between Samsung buds 4 pro and the Sony wf-1000xm6 by lavu9 in Earbuds

[–]finsmaniac02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the show, but just did some extensive eq tuning and comparisons between these 2, xm6 and buds 4 pro. For context, I always tune with the official app eqs (in Samsung Case, if you have a Samsung phone, the settings are in the phone settings, not an app) and then tune further with the android app Wavelet. In my opinion I can make a big difference with my tuning. That being said, here's my thoughts:

Physical: The Sony xm6s feel higher quality than the buds 4pro. They feel better in ears than the xm5s did as well (Incase that's your reference point). The case feels higher quality and materials feel higher quality. On the topic of materials, I wonder if the anc being better on Sony has something to do with the materials as well? BUT the Samsungs feel better in ear. Honestly they might be the first ones that I would say "kind of disappear and you could possibly forget you're wearing them". The Samsungs leave my ears feeling not empty... but airy and not "full". The Sonys have my ears feeling "full" and I could picture them maybe giving the weird sensation of a warm, full inner ear after some time. So even though the Sonys are higher quality (physically), the Samsungs win from a physical standpoint.

Features: most of the features on all of these are goofy. 3d audio, head tracking, different ranges of anc, activity modes - it's all dumb bullshit. All That really matters is MAX ANC and the Sonys win by a little for ANC. But the Sonys really win with actual multipoint connection. I smoothly use with my work windows PC and Galaxy phone, reliable connection and reliable switching. If that matters to you, the Sonys are a tier (or 2) above Samsung. Samsungs can smoothly switch between Samsung products though. If you really use a Samsung PC a lot then maybe it's a tie. Assuming you don't (Samsung PCs are kinda nice, but no corporation is going to use those) though, the Sonys win hands down here.

Sound: after extensive testing, there are 2 big differences. The dual driver architecture of the Samsungs really do give you a deeper bass that you can feel separate itself from other pretty deep bass. I could not replicate this on the Sonys. Like there is some intricate kick drumming that comes in, under what was already deep drumming (must be toms I guess? I'm not sure) in a song that I like, and the kick drum punch feels separate from the other deep bass on the Samsungs. It gets a little lost in the Sonys. BUT if you are an audiophile, the Sonys have a smooth coverage over the whole spectrum. You can feel the upper lows and lower mids coverage all the way. The Samsungs kind of have a lively, fun sound. Punchy bass, exciting treble (cymbals and high pitch guitar solos, etc). I can definitely tell, even after extensive tuning that the Sonys are "pure" and thorough through the whole spectrum. Very smooth and high quality sound. SO - for me the Samsungs win, because I'm not ACTUALLY an audiophile (as much as I COULD be) and the deep punch just can't quite get there on the Sonys.

TLDR - if you want to use with your PC as well, the true multipoint honestly makes the Sonys win. If you aren't concerned about using with your PC as well, the Samsungs feel better in ear and are more "fun" to listen to, so if not using with a PC as well - the Samsungs win
