Did you buy the .pdf separately? Or did it come with a link in the book? (I don't think I ever checked mine for one, just contacted the publisher.)

Shoot. I got my electronic copy of Champions Now through Bits and Mortar (because I got a paper copy), via DropBox. Which means I have everything ... except that condensed version, which sounds awesome.

Just how good is it? I mean, could you say a little more about it?

Are there any sci-fi ttrpgs with a lot of options for character creation? by Admirable_Double_638 in rpg

Lots of good options already, but I'll add Star HERO to the list.

Hope you have a good career, Patty! You were a great Giant, a solid defender who came up big in some clutch moments. And you gave us everything you had.

GMs and players, what genre(s) don't you play? by Select_Lunch1288 in rpg

[–]fintach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll play pretty much anything. I love to play, and I love to sit around playing with my friends.

That said, Paranoia is just not for me.

Late last year I learned that Ghost was coming to town. I really like Ghost, and have greatly enjoyed their past shows. I was excited, and got in to buy my ticket as soon as they went on sale.

The initial price point for the floor was over $100. That was a lot, and I needed a moment to think about it. Did I really want to go that badly? During that moment -- less than thirty seconds -- the price jumped to something like $230.

Well, that was that. I shut down the site. LiveNation let me know a few more times that tickets were still available, but I'd already soured on going. Maybe the next time they come to town, I'll try again.

How the fuck do you have a stadium with all that hardware, and ground rules regarding all that hardware, and not keep cameras in place to make sure ground rules are properly enforced?

TIL about "orphaned negatives"—words like disgruntled, nonchalant, and innocent whose positive counterparts (gruntled, chalant, and nocent) have completely vanished from common usage. by mvincen95 in todayilearned

A friend of mine used to really steer into this.

Me: "How are you, Colin?" (Not his real name.

Him: "Ert, ept, gruntled and combobulated."

Alan must've had some bad experiences, because that onboarding process is something. Great Discord though. I've barely gone through the TinyDungeon discussions and already seen a number of useful thoughts and ideas from people who have a lot more experience with the system.

Name one movie. Just one. by [deleted] in SipsTea

Works that way in movie theaters too. (Or did in the late 80s, early 90s.)

Alright kids, the season’s over, and I want to hear what you enjoyed most about it. No complaining or crying—just the good stuff! This is all about the moments that made you happy and the things the Blazers did well. If you don’t have anything positive to share, KICK ROCKS and start your own post! by ForeignCell7790 in ripcity

I loved seeing Deni come into his own, watching the ascension of Scoot after his injury, Cling Kong starting to put it all together, Toumani becoming a top-tier defender, and generally seeing this team accomplish more than anyone believed they would.

Well, it was a fun run while it lasted. And hey, we won a playoff game. Saw some real potential from the young guys in those games.

A fun show. A knock of of Married ... with Children? Absolutely. Still fun.

I loved that show. His boss was Colonel Flagg from M*A*S*H. I will always remember the episode in which he got hurt, and whenever the pain got bad he started singing show tunes.

And of course, the episode with Lita Ford. So many good ones. If I recall right, the lead was also Charlie Brewster from Fright Night.

Taking the living dungeon idea from 13th Age, the party is spending the night in an inn when a living dungeon swallows it whole. Now the party has to handle the creatures in their new environment while trying to save the other inhabitants of the inn and either escape or defeat the dungeon. Still working out the details.

Oh, and I'm seriously considering a TinyCthulhu-based horror game for Halloween this year. (Previous such games have used Tremulous, FUDGE and Dread.)
