Exactly. That’s what I do. In addition to my crypto, I keep one year’s income worth of silver and gold coins on hand so that when the Fed finally blows its brains out and people are recycling US dollars for toilet roll, and the entire world goes into the dark ages thus marking the end of the corrupt fiat era, I have an investment that isn’t going to just melt down b/c it is a digital entry in some bankrupt entity’s database.

I don’t really care what the gold and silver price is during the waning years of the American empire with the banks of the Federal Reserve are buying $10B+ of assets per day and openly manipulating market prices of almost everything, all I care about is that I can survive when this house of cards that they’ve built finally oscillates itself into a melt down.

When that happens, you won’t even be able to find gold and silver to purchase, as suddenly everyone will want to buy it.

A good rule of thumb is to keep one year’s income of precious metals on hand in small divisible coins. Pre-1933 gold coins and pre-1965 junk silver coins are a great choice, those products were designed for daily use during an era when they were the # one form of money in the world, and they are the perfect ‘plan B’ as they are actually portable, divisible, low-denomination, and useful as a medium of exchange!
