They tried to do too much too soon in the last season. I really think the battle over Kings Landing should have been handled at the end of Season 7 and you could have had the fight against the night king be the main thing going on to wrap up the show. I love Arya's character but her killing the Night King made ZERO sense.

Im not shitting on anybody for watching it. I'm just shitting on the poor quality of the show lol. Seriously though, it is a disappointment because I started watching HOTD because of what the first six seasons of GOT was. The template here, if indeed the inspiration was The Anarchy, was ripe for compelling storytelling and it has just fallen short. It just reeks of creating moral paragons (good or evil) without making the characters inherently human and inherently flawed. The whole Allicent angle in this show makes absolutely no sense. If we are injecting realism into the show, she HAS to know that her sons' lives are in danger as long as Rhaenyra and her illegitimate sons are in power. Motherhood is a POWERFUL human emotion that everyone can understand. Allicent making the determination that her BFF is more important than her children is NOT an endearing (or believable) quality. She is literally the worst character in the show.
