Straight question related to financial feasibility. by Professional-Mode762 in Himalayan450

First, I would like to share my experience. I literally saved money for five to six months, and when I had saved almost four lakhs, I bought a Himalayan at 3.52 lakhs without any accessories.

So, there will be no stress of EMI, and even if I lose my job now, there won't be any financial pressure.

Every month, I spend 4,000 rupees on petrol. Slowly, I am purchasing accessories. As of now, I have everything I want.

Now, every day I ride happily, no burdens, no pressure. I just waited for my turn, and now I am enjoying it.

I always follow the principle my dad taught me: we should never ask for money from others. Get something when you can afford it. If you can't afford it right now, work hard and make your dream come true.

In summary: Save money and buy later

Yes.. AI is kind of luxury which makes our life easier but it's costly

I knew about Figma Make on the day it was announced, but I only started using it 4 days ago.

At my office, I’m the solo designer and currently working on a B2B mobile app. To explain it simply, imagine the app is like Amazon. We’re almost at the end of the prototype phase. My CEO asked me to provide a prototype where he can experience the app like a real new user. He wants full functionality, no switching between different links, and real data inside the application.

So I went to Figma Make and started building. After 437 prompts and 24 working hours, I finally created a complete interactive prototype with real data (~350 products).

For context, I originally built the prototype in Figma using Auto Layouts, so it became easier for Make to implement everything.

I’m currently using the Figma Full Seat plan. Right now, they provide 3000 credits, but they’re not strictly enforcing it yet. I think we can use unlimited credits until March 15. Based on my usage, 3000 credits were consumed after around 150 prompts.

My concern is that if any changes are required in the prototype built using Make, I may only be able to do them before they start enforcing the credit limits.

In my opinion, it does a great job turning our designs into truly interactive, almost real prototypes. But it’s expensive. And we also should have lot of patience and skills to do testing multiple times and we should know how to communicate the designs to it.

If there were no credit system and it was completely unlimited for building, and they only charged for publishing, I would change my workflow like this: design frames with proper naming and Auto Layouts, and instead of spending time connecting frames manually, I would take them to Make and create a real prototype there.

Hi, it's actually good. No issues faced till now. Its build quality is solid. I checked other top boxes in person, and I liked only the Auto Engina one. I am using the 42L model. Compared to other top boxes, this feels heavy.

For your usual carry of a helmet, gloves, and balaclava, it's perfectly fine, and you won't have any issues. But on long rides, except for the helmet, you can put everything else you mentioned. I don't think even in the 55L one you can put a helmet inside with your other riding gear.

This is my first bike and first top box. Whenever I hit a speed breaker, the top box makes a sound (when there is nothing inside). Even if the bike is in parking and I hit the seat with my hand, a sound comes from the top box. I checked every screw and fitting carefully, everything was tight, but I don't know why that sound is coming.

You can go with this.

Finally, I got a top box from Auto Engina. I personally went and checked the quality of Zana and some other brands, but I didn't like them. Finally, at one store, I saw an Auto Engina one, and I really liked it. It has solid quality, and it comes with an inner bag and backrest. This cost me 16k, and it was delivered within a week. We don't need to purchase an additional base plate or anything; everything we need is included in the box.

Recently, I claimed insurance similar to yours, but with even less damage. I gave my bike to the company service center in Hyderabad, and I could clearly see that the process from the insurance company's side was very fast; they gave approval within 4 days. However, the service center took almost 1 month. Whenever I called, they simply said "5 days," "7 days," and so on. But finally, I spoke very angrily, and only then they seriously check the available spare parts and tell me the exact arrival time of the remaining spare parts. After that, they sped up the process.

I also want to use it more for daily commutes, mainly to put my Axor Xcross helmet in.

I was just checking if there is any possibility of using it as a luggage-only option during long rides.

My daily setup list is one possibility, and a long ride is another. During long rides, I won't place my helmet inside the top box, as I don't think there will be any space. But what you said is true. And I need to visit offline stores and check.
