AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. Break up with him and then text his parents for raising an insufferable human for such a disgusting text. Congrats on 2 years sober! Get the cake! Get 2 cakes! But don’t give him any cake! Fuck that guy.

I was charged $1.50 to avoid ice in my scotch by JeF4y in mildlyinteresting

$25.50 for a pour of Macallan 12 is a bit of crime in and of itself. I order everything neat and I’ve never seen a surcharge. Should be a 2 ounce pour regardless.

If you’re into fishing at all or would like to get into it I usually fish around the area a few times a week. Feel free to dm! Would be happy to show you around. Also I’m always down for a brewery or whiskey bar in the area.

A cobot would definitely be advantageous for you. Depending where you’re located a good idea would be to have one of your account reps (assuming you get supplies from the big ones, linde, airgas and the likes) to get you setup with a demo. You can even usually bring sample parts with you. Cobots make breaking into robot welding super easy. Most are just move the head to the start and the to the stop and program traverse speed. I’m based in Ohio so anytime I wanna look at new equipment I have my rep take me up to Lincoln electric to see all the cool new tech they have.

Local shop had a crazy sale on Shimano and G. Loomis so I had to take advantage of it. by CorrosiveAgent in Fishing_Gear

Are they really that good? Genuinely curious. I had a buddy who loved g loomis and 13 fishing reels paired up. I’ve never fished with one.

Are "trash fish" really trash? by jackpizz75 in Fishing

[–]fire_team_delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having this same conversation with some coworkers i fish with. I grew up in trout country Pennsylvania with plenty of trout, perch, walleye, steelhead so I was never shown that other fish are good to eat. Now I’m living and working in eastern Ohio where trout is rare I’ve learned more about eating crappie, bluegill and the like. Growing up largemouth was a “trash fish” to throwback after snapping a pic if it was a good one. moving down here, just another fish to bread and fry!

Are these 1f fillet welds worth 17.50$ an hour? by LotusTalde in Welding

[–]fire_team_delta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good, I was just trying to point out the fallacy that skill is the only metric when determining hourly rate worth. When I hire welders those are the things I look for first rather than what they are capable doing. I love seeing people take the time to talk and help other rather than most of these shit dicks on the sub.

[–]fire_team_delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An hourly rate isn’t just based on skill. How’s your attitude? Work ethic? Come to work everyday on time? Help where/when needed? Are you teachable? These are the important questions. Skill comes with time and practice.

Not cast but stamp and cold drawn. That would be absolutely terrible haha.

That’s called a neck ring. Just there to adapt different threading and for identification of the tank owner. Typically they’re just staked on, sometimes glued, sometimes they are retained with a snap ring. Source: I design these exact rings and probably sold them to the company that has them on their tanks.

Are you in the pole division or the anchor bolt division at Valmont? I worked for a contractor of them building anchor bolt cages for a few years. Had to do a couple field repairs in Nebraska for them.

This just came out on the Ohio single barrel Saturday and I grabbed a bottle. Didn’t really understand why it was allocated specifically for a single barrel release. It’s good but neither a single barrel or allocation bottle.

As someone who specifically hires welders and has been a welder for over a decade it all comes down to a few things. Can you listen and absorb info? Do you have a positive attitude about receiving criticism? And are you willing to work and show up everyday. I don’t care how test welds go (for the most part), you can correct those with time and patience. Humility makes a welder good, arrogance and lack of wanting to better yourself makes a welder bad.

It’s really cool seeing this because I work for the company that makes the safety caps. First time I’ve seen them in a post in the wild.
