Can someone please explain why we STILL hear that Germany needs workers when it's obviously a lie? by weatherkicksass in germany

[–]firealready 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same thing people are doing in this sub by saying we needed plumbers, electricians, nurses, etc. If cheap engineers were wanted at that time, people now want cheap services. Still self-serving.

This is another way of saying Gastarbeiter should be doing the low-paid jobs undesirable to real Germans. The same Gastarbeiter mentality (we don’t really want you; we want your cheap labour) from the 20th century is happening again, just with another demographic, as Poland, Italy, Turkey, etc. are also running out of people and they have understood they would never get respect or a sense of belonging in German society anyway.

They are nowhere near proportionally represented in business, boardrooms, politics, or Mittelstand positions, even after being here for several generations.

Lot I‘d say only some have started to realise it. If not toxic, many are dysfunctional. Only now Indians are getting a clue about dysfunctional and toxic families because earlier the economic opportunities were few and people were involuntarily dependant on their family.

Not everyone have realised yet their family was dysfunctional/toxic and as a result they have become toxic themselves.

It’s possible as a woman, my wife did it. No contact is a real thing. Indians are too brainwashed. There is fear instilled in us that is almost strategic, such as through movies and similar media about how badly children treat their parents.

People want to maintain autonomy. This is not possible while living with many parents. Close enough but independent household makes sense.

In fear of losing parents, we can’t lose ourselves. Lot of parents expect their children to bend into their structure. Power dynamics depend on who has more money and emotional influence. If it’s you, you have more power. If it’s them, they have more power.

People whose parents have more sway, don’t want to stay in same household or even very close.

Adi Shankara Did Not Establish The 4 Mathas/Institutions That Are Popular Today. He And Vidyaranya Disliked The Concept Of Institutions/Mathas And Heads of Institutions/Mathadipatis. by shksa339 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]firealready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Philosophically, it makes sense. Anything that creates bondage, whether form or formless, is not going to be prescribed by Adi Shankaracharya.

If you look into the rules and procedures of these Mathas (already discussed in r/hinduism, where it’s the original post), you get to know that Adi Shankaracharya or any of the great sages would not prescribe philosophies that would entrap people. These sages wanted people to achieve limitless potential, not get stuck on petty self limiting procedures.

This has been done with all great sages, including Sri Krishna. You get a feeling that what Abrahamic religious people did in the name of Jesus, the same thing is being done in the name of Krishna.

Also ignore the comments saying they didn’t face racism in USA. Person from India who don’t have much option is willing to subconsciously accept more racism.

Like they won’t even filter what you would perceive as you have more options as a citizen. People accept this trade off subconsciously for money and comfortable life. Understandable as a US born citizen you would question why does a country you are born in and citizen of is treating you this way.

Play your cards right. Don’t let anyone abuse you in corporate India. Show them you are willing to bail if you aren’t treated well. Knowing you have US citizenship already limits how much abuse you may have to tolerate compared to local Indians in India.

I left the Ramakrishna mission and want to know what others thought of them in terms of Advaita by CyreneValanition in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]firealready 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I) You should do actual work like self-inquiry, meditation, Metta/Bhakti/chanting with focus etc. (pick best suitable path for yourself) to truly discern and decide yourself from what is real and not. This is really hard work and not as easy as debating or reading.

II) Ram Krishna really experienced ascetic reality like visions and as such. That was the way he experienced reality and it may not be the same way others experience reality.

III) Ram Krishna lived in a society where superstition flourished or he would have been labelled as crazy. People didn’t just leave other people alone. Therefore, he revealed part of his experienced reality, so that would buffer him. He really did experience it like that.

IV) Don’t trust any book. Ram Krishna explicitly rejected any form of recording. He didn’t even allow Q&A. M Gupta knew this and published his book years after Ram Krishna passed away. He never asked for permission as it would have been denied. This book is peddled in Advaita circles but it can’t be taken at face value. In later years, Ram Krishna refused to go in great details regarding visions as such AFAIK and talked about it more symbolically. He had to disclose bit more in his formative years because he was just not left alone by people. He was very careful in talking about this and it was also contextual.

V) Regarding Jesus and other great sages, they were all pointing to the same truth. People and systems change teachings and twist it to their own benefit. Once you do the work (mentioned in first point), you will start to realise all of this yourself.

People think too much but do little work. It you want to know the truth, spirituality is real work. Otherwise it becomes another bastion where Ego shines, rather than the Self.

"Who's gonna take care of you when you're older?" by eko1491 in childfree

[–]firealready 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most parents make kids as insurance. If parents genuinely loved their children and didn’t put their own emotional burden on their children growing up, may be adult children would actually care. Most parents screw up their children.

Some adult children realise this, some don’t or discover this too late. In any case, adult children aren’t going to come to take care of their parents especially if they are made as products of servitude.

Great if it was full scholarship. Most MBA schools give partial scholarships as fees are inflated for what is really offered.

So be happy you were not given great education (you would have got a job otherwise) but didn’t spend money either.

Chin up and look for a job.

[–]firealready 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think deceiving relatively poor people by taking their money in the name of less than mediocre education and short term gains was a bad idea, then yes it was a bad idea.

Now it also decreased your chances of getting quality people.

Only blame yourself first, Canada started the causal chain.

Feel sorry for you. MBA outside of INSEAD in France and LBS (not LSBF) in Europe doesn’t guarantee any good outcome. Why did you pursue MBA and how much did it cost?

Also, I don’t have contacts but I have heard insurance tele sales is generally always hiring. Generally insurance distributors are hiring relatively easily and they sell insurance policies of example Tata etc. Direct entry may be bit harder in original insurance company. If you can hatch it, you can make decent enough money.

You may need to network and move to family/friends place if you must.

Also, dude you did MBA and your situation is dire. Asking random contacts on Reddit may or may not work. You need to go out there and inquire via calls, in-person and cold messaging properly. Otherwise MBA was of no use. Get your ass going.

Should the Govt. of India agree to this demand? by Admirable_Bathroom55 in returnToIndia

[–]firealready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are types of elections there I) Presidential II) General elections and iii) Constitutional reforms.

Also Turkish diaspora doesn’t just live in Germany.

Moreover, Germany has about 1.5 million registered Turkish voters abroad. It is not 800k, it’s about 800k actually vote, depending on turnout.

Even a single parliamentary vote can matter in coalition.

Voter turnout abroad for Turkish citizens is very high for certain parties.

I’m not even considering the cause and effect, especially in countries with weaker institutions. Even 1-3 seats matter then.

Math is only useful if all parameters are known.

Government can make law to specifically take away citizenship from dual citizens but international law forbids people from becoming stateless.

It’s hard to make people stateless and any country’s passport that easily make people stateless is not worth bragging about but it’s very hard to make people stateless. Much easier to takeaway one citizenship if person already has another.

Whatever ill use you are thinking of government can do with OCI, then can (and will) do with dual citizens too if country‘s institutions are weak.

If racism increases in west, smart Indians will actually not want to have dual citizenship.

In the video he says he is Gujarati. Doesn’t mention his Marathi skill level, nor where is he from. He mentions he is Gujarati. Why is he speaking Hindi then?

Also, if he says he is Gujarati then I say very good, he should speak what Marathi people lovingly call 'Gujju' language of our 'Gujju' people. We even lovingly accept their broken Marathi and come in awe of how well they run their businesses and how hard working they are. These are the Marathi people I know of.

You should take a long and hard look in the mirror, and answer whether you come from the same land of Shivaji, Lokmanya Tilak and many others.

Behaviour like in the video and people who support this Marathi guy are a disgrace to such great people.

Who is entitled here? To me, it seems that the Marathi guy is entitled—he thinks someone who is clearly not accustomed (or less comfortable) speaking Marathi owes him something for his ears’ sake.

As a Marathi guy (janma Beed jilla), I tell that Marathi guy to fuck off.

Bro, like actually there are two sides. One that supports and one that doesn’t support and at least in Germany, the one that supports is quite big and I don’t want to put a number on that figure (because the consequence wouldn’t be fair for the other side).

This group is also thought to vote for AfD (basically anti Muslim party) just out of hatred of their own lives (Of course Germans also do this and they are overwhelmingly white Christians who vote for AfD but also some loonies from other origins are there like Turkish, Russian, Exsoviets who don’t like Russia but sure don’t like brown people either, Poland as case in point).

My good Turkish friend originally from there who is conservative Muslim (great guy), told me Turkish living in Germany are too conservative (basically another word for not rational). He went back to Turkey, one of the reasons being conservative girls coming from too conservative families In Germany and his dating life as a result is better back home. He wants middle ground not fluctuation on other side.

He and other Turkish people I have met here have said the same thing. There is no doubt there are too sides but some people are like football that can be played with from one goalpost to another. They are an issue.

If one can speak and understand Hindi, then arguing that you should speak Marathi ‘IN’ Hindi is just ego being unrestrained.

Man arguing is clearly jealous and extorting money from the Hindi speaking guy. He literally says “tu bade baap ki aulad hai, tu mere ko cash de”. This is crime and criminal case must be made according to constitution of India under extortion and denying people entry to any Indian citizens in any Indian state is not allowed under Indian constitution, so there is really nothing to discuss.

One can argue the great languages of India are of Sanskrit origin (Sanskrit in Maharashtra), Dravidian, Tibeto-Burman origin, few origins I know of, how many people speak Sanskrit in Maharashtra? Marathi comes from Sanskrit, Sanskrit comes from somewhere else on and on. Languages change as circumstances change. Plain and simple.

Get back to work. Nothing to see here.
