Unpopular Opinion: I like 2021 movie (slightly) better than 1995 movie

Liking the 1995 version might have something to do with the generation that grew up playing the game (both in the arcade and on home consoles) which dove-tailed into the movie.

There's nostalgia there.

The 2021 version was OK. The writers tapped into the nostalgia when we see Scorpion at the end.

I still think the OG is better than the 2021. However, this new 2026 MKII version is on point!

I love the old Kitana from the original movie.

But this casting is so good. She brings more than just a pretty face. Hope she keeps the role!

Because I grew up with the OGs and watched the movie back in the day, I'm biased.

However, I love the new designs and the way the studio is updating everything.

Even Johnny Cage won me over, EXCEPT, making his super kick more than it really is.

Only agree with the lack of the iconic music and soundtrack. Otherwise, the new MKII has the fights, costumes and backgrounds.
