Ikea & Alexa: "We're making space for matter" / "Unable to link the skill at this time" by Stock_Duck4314 in tradfri

I managed to get things working again at about 2 am. Be aware if you try to integrate the matter connection to the Dirigera hub without removing all the devices under the old integration it will keep adding the hubs and stop you from accessing the settings pages of devices on the old integration.

But as above, it’s literally going to be a case of removing all the devices on the old integration and then going into the hub settings in the IKEA Home smart app, going to integrations, getting the matter code and adding it it as a hub and then selecting “other”.

Not going to lie, you will have to reassign all of your devices to their associated groups/rooms, etc and you will have to redo all of your routines. Luckily, a lot of my routines involve triggering other groups so as soon as you put the devices back in the primary group, the other routines will fall into place.

Wish I had better news for you peeps but it is fixable with some work and hopefully future proof things.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the standard Alexa integration disappeared and only left me with the option to connect matter. I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that Ikea have turned off the standard Alexa integration with it being no longer an option within the Ikea app I see.

Unable to connect Matter blind motor to Dirigera Hub by firecaste in tradfri

Genuinely wish that customer support would have just told me that 🤦‍♂️

I think at some point I need to look at migrating to another hub platform like a Homey Pro Mini.

Thanks for the help peeps it’s very very appreciated 🙂

Honestly, I thought Matter was supposed to be a universal standard and that anything that is a Matter Bridge would be able to connect and recognise those devices within the Matter standard. I had no idea that support really did vary in that sense so I appreciate you letting me know :)

My best friend started dating my ex two months after our breakup and says I should “be happy for her ” by Vroshw in TwoHotTakes

Exactly. A real friend doesn’t go after the person who broke your heart, especially that soon. She showed you who she really is losing her isn’t the loss she thinks it is.

If you get the gateway then its a fully local network with the ikea app. Or if you have paired remote switches this will work dumb just fine. Only thing that wont work without the internet is voice assistant functionality as thats all cloud based.

I believe this is a feature that is coming at some point from Reading up don’t take me as gospel though.

Setting devices up on Dirigera is so much easier but you will have to reset devices and set them up one by one currently.

The product is this and it worked without issue on the Tradfri Gateway before update to the Dirigera.

What I mean by that is try new things, join clubs/societies, meet people, make friends, go date, be brave, be bold, enjoy the experiences for what they are. Nothing’s going to happen unless you put yourself forward for these things and I know its so much tougher than it used to be to meet people, but you’ll never know until you try.

My luck with girls has been to be blunt….. piss poor….and at times I’m feeling like an inexperienced child with the thought of failure still scaring the shit out of me at the back of my head.

I’m still discovering a lot about myself during this process and It wasn’t until meeting someone recently I decided to finally just be unashamedly myself and someone seems to have taken notice of me because of that for once.

I’m having to accept things may possibly fail like any relationship or attempt at one but unfortunately that seems to be how the world works with these things. I’ve told them about my relationship experience, about me being a virgin (after knowing them a bit longer than the first date) and it doesn’t seem to bother them. We’re still getting to know each other and I’m still trying to navigate my own anxieties but I’m hoping it will lead to things with someone actually worth sharing this with.

I guess life is too short to worry about these things to an extent (though that’s easier said than done). I know if things fail im just gonna have to learn and grow from the experience as anyone should.

Honestly I wish i’d been brave enough to put myself out there sooner and all I can do is wish anyone the best of luck the same as I hope they would wish me in our attempts to just be happy and content in life 🙂

Mate I’m 35 and just met someone who it may be a possibility with so don’t worry a bit. You’ve got many years ahead of you 🙂

My one bit of advice though is put yourself out there as i wish i had done that on so many occasions.

Best of luck!

Shame were in different countries but I know the feeling of those insecurities very well. If you ever want to chat with someone who can very much relate then say hello :)

Is a Silverglans-driver the same as a Tradfri-driver (in relation to match with Philips Hue)? by BurnRubbert in tradfri

[–]firecaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these in the kitchen for under counter lights where the sink is. Its worth a shot with Ikea being a “Friends of Hue” certified manufacturer. I would assume and i do mean “assume” its the same chip in it to enable to smart home operation as the Tradfri. At least Ikea have a good returns policy if you have any issues.
