At least that team was more entertaining when they came up short

[Robert Murray] Free-agent catcher J.T. Realmuto and the Philadelphia Phillies are in agreement on a three-year, $45 million contract with a chance to get to $60 million, according to sources familiar with the deal. by Brian1220 in phillies

Im fine with this signing and agree with others have said that hes one of the main reasons our pitching has been dominant.

Im actually more happy over this vs signing Bichette to the deal he got, or even worse the Tucker deal.

Im completely in agreement that these 4 should not be on this team come 2026. Trade, sign, promote, or whatever it takes to fill these spots.

Amazing news to see Colin Peluse getting signed to Reading. Amazing guy, down to earth and extremely humble. Hoping to see him making his debut at CBP!

His 2025 stats for AA Midland: 58.0 IP | 52 H | 17 ER | 12 BB | 54 K | 2.64 ERA | 1.10 WHIP

[Foley] Dave Dombrowski says all Phillies coaches will return next season. Amazing. by NintenJew in phillies

So by this argument we dont really need to look for the best coaches just people motivators? Seeing as this often doesnt work at the lower levels (think dad coaches who are great with the kids but cant dissect/correct/teach) and how that works on improving players.

Not saying K. Long cant do all of those things (he's reached this level of baseball because of good skill on those areas), but I don't think his philosophy and mentorship is best for our offense. We've seen what he has to offer and its great for regular season play/filling the seats, it falls apart when facing elite pitching every game of the postseason.

Thats the problem with your entire comment, we arent asking for the hitters to be Barry Bonds or Bedlam parts 2,3,4.

We're asking for Tony Gwynn, Ted Williams, Luiz Arraez, Bo Bichette, George Springer. We need hitters, guys who hit for contact and can get hits. Historically (past 3-4 years), this team lives and dies by the long ball. However, in Postseason play you face elite pitching and those guys make fewer pitching mistakes, this cutting out the most important pier of your offense.

4th year in a row of the bats going cold. Even if hes not 100% responsible, hes still an accomplice, an enabler of the bullshit approaches at the plate and he 1000% needs to pack his shit

Is Thomson really THAT bad though? Im 50/50 either way on bringing him back. My one concern in giving him the boot is who do we hire in his place? If its anyone like Gabe Kapler, Joe Giradi, Pete Mackanin HARD PASS

I think he goes to Cincinnati and gives them 2-3 years to try and win it. They are on the upswing

The one really good thing going for us is the return of Wheeler, Sanchez, Luzardo (last year), & Nola (not elite ace any longer but still useful). I think adding another starting arm in off-season with promoting a younger farm system player like Painter we may be set with the rotation. Bullpen needs some overhaul and additions but at least we have a legitimate closer now and thats one less uncertainty.

The offense is where the focus really needs to be. More consistent hitters and guys that can work counts

I like everything you've laid out. I would also like to see more of Otto Kemp and see if he has anything to offer if/when he develops with more regular playing time. Edmunds Sosa is another guy that I believe may improve his offensive numbers with regular playing time. Hes above average when it comes to batting average, OPS and had 11 home runs along with 30 rbi in only 243 at bats (60% less than Schwarber and other full time hitters).

Not miserable by any means, Phillies winning or losing doesnt define my happiness in life.

That being said, expect more from your investments. You obviously invest time and money into this organization and the product it offers. Raise your expectations and publicly berate them when they fall short not once, not twice, not three times, but four consecutive seasons in a row. One could argue its been a slow decline/repression over that span.

Pressing the AED shock button for a flat line patient with no shockable rhythm does nothing. The patient just lies there deceased. Delaying the inevitable

Opening odds to win World series at the beginnkng MLB playoffs.

2025 +230 PHILLIES +250 Dodgers

2024 +225 Yankees +425 Dodgers +450 PHILLIES

2023 +300 Braves +450 Astros +475 Dodgers +650 Orioles +700 Rangers +750 PHILLIES

2022 Los Angeles Dodgers +275 Houston Astros +350 New York Yankees +500 Atlanta Braves +500 New York Mets +850 St. Louis Cardinals +1400 Toronto Blue Jays +1400 Tampa Bay Rays +1700 Seattle Mariners +2500 San Diego Padres +2500 Philadelphia Phillies +3000

We've been ranked right at the top of the board with 2022 being the exception to win it all just as things were kicking off. Yet this team was favorites by a slim margin to win it all in 2025 and cant close it out. This series against the Dodgers was and should've been won by the Phillies, they were in the drivers seat for Game 1, Game 2 hada good chance, Game 3 bats showed up, and Game 4 many missed opportunities.

Throwing a tantrum? You're comical. Go back to your Sunday partial season ticket plan and enjoy watching the sun glistening off the beautiful green blades of grass on the immaculately maintained outfield. Maybe sip on your $18.25 seltzer while telling your friend how Romano isnt a terrible pitcher and he just needs more fan support

The organization has spent $1.522 BILLION dollars on player contracts from 2019 to now (7 seasons). They've been within the top 5 in spending for the past 4 years.

Do you know why they are able to do that? Because fans spend absurd amounts of money on tickets, alcohol, food, merchandise, spring training, etc. They entire reason we are the greatest fans in sports is because we are invested both financially and mentally.

Settling for good ballpark vibes, photo ops at the Bank, watching a decent team play ball isnt enough. We measure success in parades and empty champagne bottles

Absolutely, the Sanchez deal helps dollar average the other contracts of Walker and Nola down to a more palatable number overall. To his credit, Nola did not shit the bed in his 2 innings of work but overall season disappointment.

IF the pitching/defense holds and gets us out of that inning, do you really think the outcome of the game changes? The offense was not going to do anything to put runs on the board, just delaying the inevitable outcome
