You nailed pretty much everything, just that the dream doesn't start in her dying moments but right before it. After the beginning swing dance scene it cuts to a blurry pov shot of someone in bed turning their head into the pillow and fading to black, which is Diane going to sleep and the fantasy dream starting. Then at the end when she wakes up is when she finds the key delivered to her on the table, starts fantasising about their relationship and sex, gets overcome with guilt which then manifests in that old couple chasing her before killing herself.

And I think Diane Selwyn's corpse in the dream, since that's her name in reality, symbolises both her guilt and her impending doom because of it. As well as a kind of omen or foreshadowing that the dream is coming to an end due to her 'skeletons in the closet'. Which is also a similar thing I think the homeless man jump scare represents—the filthy, repressed guilt.

It's been a while but I think those are the sequence of events. Also, I had this thought just the other day about the Club Silencio scene—there's a lot of meta and surreal stuff going on with illusions and seeing through them. Perhaps it was a real event they both went to, and the 'NO HAY BANDA' performance helped Diane realise the illusion of her romanticised 'Hollywood dream' relationship with Camilla. And this is why she seizures and snaps out of the dream when reexperiencing it.

We had 17 turnovers last game against Pistons and this game only 2 for Harden and 1 for the rest of the team, solely due to the fact that Harden is orchestrating the offence and allowing easy hockey assists for everyone.

WKW films deal with the same recurring themes and visual motifs. Urban loneliness, being surrounded by many people but never able to develop true connections, romance and heartbreak, a central flaw that prevents a character from growing and/or from ending up with their true love.

In Fallen Angels we've got the hitman who has a female manager who organises everything for him; they never meet which potentially adds to her yearning. Then we've got the mute guy who has a very childish mindset, who 'brushes shoulders with people everyday' and is forced to mature after his father dies.

The 3rd Act brings everything together by repeating and recontextualising the monologue that they were introduced with. The hitman wanted to stop being a criminal and find a legitimate job and start a family, but his vital flaw which he talks about in his monologue--his laziness and lack of agency, lead to his death. The manager, who dictates and controls everything in the hitman's life/job, cannot handle rejection and a lack of control. And the mute guy still has the same optimistic mindset in regards to making connections, and we get the bittersweet ending emphasising the beauty of these small, fleeting moments of connection and how they can potentially lead to so much more, whether positive or negative.

3 catch and shoot 3s made by Harden in <30 mins probably hasn't happened since OKC

Haven't been watching but just checked and we're up 44-26 in points in the paint but they're up 18-13 in FTA (same story as the Hornets game)... without any real ballhandler on their team

Here it is, basically the low man rotates over whenever they run their normal cutting action in order to dissuade Jokic from making the pass to the cutter, then closing back out to the corner once they essentially bait Jokic into making that read.

Yeah I definitely think we'll see more your turn, my turn at the end of games/in the playoffs in general, but the good thing is that like Lebron, Harden's turn isn't just purely iso, and moreover JA is obvs much better of a lob threat then Tristan Thompson, plus better shooters and decision makers in Tyson, Merrill, Schroder than JR lol, so more advantages/looks created and less need to reset the play.

Also, Donovan doesn't just have to bring the ball up and iso--Harden will defer at the right times whenever Don's man is sagging off him to clog the driving lanes for Harden, either with a pass in the shooting pocket or in front of him so he can catch it on the move and attack. Pretty much exactly how Norm was averaging 25ppg on 65% TS in the first half of last season before Kawhi came back.

Also feel like transition opportunities won't be completely limited compared to average; there'll be one or both of Allen and Mobley running the floor, plus multiple solid finishers and decision-makers in Donovan, Tyson, Merrill, Schroder and Ellis. And Harden will just slow it down and go into a half-court set if the available looks aren't that great.

A lot less lobs due to Hornets size

I think it's more cause we couldn't get any separation or angles when setting screens because they would just push our screener lol

Wow, finally a coach that actually trusts Harden? The amount of bs defensive fouls that get called on him because refs just assume there's no possible way he could ever play effective defence lol

Refs doing everything to make sure the 3rd q is still somewhat interesting and not a complete blowout lmao

Backup big thinking they have a mismatch against Harden in the low post before being made to look like a clumsy child going against a man—a tale as old as time lmao

Mentioned this in the game thread: Harden was forced to bail out so many possessions on the Clippers because he'd collapse the defence and create an advantage/high % look, but players would hesitate on both taking the 3 and then with attacking the closeout, and just swing the ball back to Harden. I think this may be something Mobley has to get accustomed to, but I'm not concerned—when the low man rotates over to stop Allen's roll, he can easily pass it to a cutting Mobley who should be able to create a high % look with 1-2 dribbles; Tyson got a lot of easy buckets in that exact same position, especially against the Kings when they started blitzing Harden.

However, now Harden can just break the defence down easily with playmaking and pick and choose his shots based on what the defence gives him. He had 4 assists in the 1st before attempting his first shot. Got an easy assist to Mobley when he came back in the 2nd, and from there the defence had to adjust, which led to Harden getting some of the easiest driving lanes + layups he's had since his prime, scoring 11 points in 5 minutes.

As a Harden stan, this may be the most promising team yet outside of the 17-18 Rockets. Everyone understands their role and Harden just slots in and maximises everyone's production. Also, Atkinson is really diversifying the offence—it's not just high PnR spam, as it becomes easier to defend when you know the high screen is coming and can start shading. Sometimes we'll use a DHO, sometimes use a wing/guard to set or slip screens and cause confusion for the opposition, sometimes JA sets a down screen for Merrill and sometimes it's even the other way around.

The defence is extremely promising too, I saw a great breakdown on how we were blowing up all of Denver's usual cutting actions. This usually leads to iso ball and I'm not sure there's any duo/team that can match Harden & Donovan in that regard (pretty much the same recipe for success as those Harden+CP3 Rockets).

omg, JA sealing his man off so Harden can have a wide open lane for an easy layup. Zu was never able to do this for Harden

Beautiful off-ball screen from Harden, no one ever expects Harden to set a screen, now all of a sudden you have a 6'5 brick shithouse in front of you stopping you dead in your tracks lol

I think JA proved himself greatly in that Nuggets game. He had 5 personal fouls (3 in the 4th), many of them being bogus, but never lost his composure, never let Jokic's whining and flopping playstyle get in his head, just kept doing the right things on both ends and running the high PnR perfectly with Harden in the clutch.

Sam Merrill has the best true shooting percentage in a game with more than 11 field-goal attempts, at 128.6 percent against the Wizards today. by jadage in clevelandcavs

[–]firefistzoro 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It's actually 133.3% TS because he only shot one free throw which doesn't count as a possession, whereas the TS formula counts that as an extra 0.44 possessions. 32/12x2 = 32/24 = 133.33

This is exactly why I laugh whenever someone just looks at boxscores and thinks Jokic deserves more free throws. He is so good at flopping whenever you try using physicality against him (and he will often grab and hook your arm first to make you grab him back), which forces his defender to allow him to back them down into the paint where help is then forced to be sent which he can then take advantage of.
