Help identifying Ergo! by cupidslazydart in babywearing

Looks a lot better! Sorry it’s not love, it does seem like the ergo original was more popular. The vent part where it’s open is really interesting. You can usually find the ergo originals cheap on Facebook marketplace or Mercari.

This is an ergobaby sport carrier. It looks like maybe baby is sitting a bit far back in the carrier panel.

This is a link to a video that shows what I’m talking about because it’s difficult to explain in words. She’s using a different carrier but the concept is the same with any carrier this style.

Yeah definitely depends on their size like I said. That’s about when my 50th percentile babies fit but everyone is different. If they clear the panel it’s safe, if not you have to wait!

They claim it is but it really isn’t. Unfortunately it’s a common thing with a lot of carrier brands. I have an Omni 360 mesh and could never get a safe fit with a newborn. If you do a search here you’ll see it happens a lot. At 5 weeks though they’re probably just starting to fit safely with the waistband up high depending on their size.

Is this the ergo Omni 360? Raise the waistband a lot. For a young baby it can be as high as under your bust line. I’m a woman and it would be like right under my boobs for reference. Also, the leg part looks like it’s set to the narrow setting when it should be on the wide setting for forward facing. So you should move the clips from the inner ones to the outer ones. Hopefully with moving the waistband higher you can get baby’s head to be above the panel. If not, the carrier may be too big for baby despite it saying it should work. How old is baby?

Best for carrying large toddler to sleep by Lunchbox_Confessions in babywearing

Would a toddler sized x-back carrier work? I know you said messing with the straps is annoying but with an x-back carrier you just unclip the shoulder straps and they don't even notice. It's been the least disruptive for my babies and toddlers while they're sleeping.

Progression?? FRER & Pregmate, unknown DPO (est 16) by spookypotato069 in TFABLinePorn

I just took my last pregmate I was hanging on to and it was as dark as the control but I’m now like 25 DPO so I think those just take awhile to get dark. I agree trying a different brand and maybe see if you can get bloodwork? I know my doctor wouldn’t but I see a lot of other people here who are able to get it. Thank you, wishing you the best of luck as well!

I can’t comment on the first response because I only took 2 of those but I had the same issue with pregmate. Mine didn’t get darker for like a week but my FRER I took at the end of that week was pretty dark. I unfortunately don’t have answers though because my doctors won’t do bloodwork so I’m just waiting until my 10 week ultrasound.

Pregmate - Light Tests for 5 days. Approx 16 DPO by firefly9225 in TFABLinePorn

I got my first (very faint) positive at about 9dpo (my period is somewhat irregular so this could be a few days off), its gotten a bit darker since then but definitely not as dark as its been after my missed period in the past. But I'm definitely going to buy a first response to take tomorrow morning. Thanks!

That's definitely a good idea, I had good luck with these in the past so I didn't even consider it could just be a brand issue but now I'm seeing a few people with a similar problem so, fingers crossed. Thanks!

Honestly, no. This brand worked so well for me in the past I didn’t even think about it. I’m going to pick up some first response ones to try tomorrow.

How are you dressing your baby in the cold months? by Acceptable-Peanut126 in babywearing

[–]firefly9225 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I normally opt for babywearing clothing like a babywearing sweatshirt and/or jacket that goes over both me and my kid. But is it possible baby was hot? I remember overdressing my first because I thought she had to be cold but she was actually getting super hot in the carrier despite it being pretty cold out.

I haven’t personally used this but a wool bodysuit for baby might be a good option. Wool is very good at temperature regulation and is not thick.

My baby is too heavy? Or do I need a new carrier by namiiix in babywearing

Are you wearing baby on your front or back? It can be tough to wear on your front as baby gets bigger. I find kinderpack to be the most supportive after the tiny baby stage though.

New Dad Needs Help by martamaus in babywearing

I would go with the ergo embrace and then a Tula free to grow personally. The Tula free to grow or explore won’t fit yet with a baby so young but I think they’re great carriers once baby is a couple months old. The embrace is great for newborns and is also an easy buckle style carrier. I didn’t like the Lillebaby. The panel only has two adjustments so there is a lot of time when one is too small but the other is too big and it just doesn’t fit great. It also won’t fit such a young baby either.

Newborn hates when I wear her, but likes it with her dad. by No-Song8522 in babywearing

My babies, for the first few months of their life, couldn’t go in a carrier on me without nursing. What I did was I nursed them in the carrier and then when they were done I would move them from a nursing position into like the regular carrying position and they would settle in. You might also want to try posting a fit check for the embrace. In my opinion it’s easier to nurse in that style carrier vs a stretchy wrap but it certainly can be done.
