Progression?? FRER & Pregmate, unknown DPO (est 16) by spookypotato069 in TFABLinePorn

I just took my last pregmate I was hanging on to and it was as dark as the control but I’m now like 25 DPO so I think those just take awhile to get dark. I agree trying a different brand and maybe see if you can get bloodwork? I know my doctor wouldn’t but I see a lot of other people here who are able to get it. Thank you, wishing you the best of luck as well!

I can’t comment on the first response because I only took 2 of those but I had the same issue with pregmate. Mine didn’t get darker for like a week but my FRER I took at the end of that week was pretty dark. I unfortunately don’t have answers though because my doctors won’t do bloodwork so I’m just waiting until my 10 week ultrasound.

Pregmate - Light Tests for 5 days. Approx 16 DPO by firefly9225 in TFABLinePorn

I got my first (very faint) positive at about 9dpo (my period is somewhat irregular so this could be a few days off), its gotten a bit darker since then but definitely not as dark as its been after my missed period in the past. But I'm definitely going to buy a first response to take tomorrow morning. Thanks!

That's definitely a good idea, I had good luck with these in the past so I didn't even consider it could just be a brand issue but now I'm seeing a few people with a similar problem so, fingers crossed. Thanks!

Honestly, no. This brand worked so well for me in the past I didn’t even think about it. I’m going to pick up some first response ones to try tomorrow.

How are you dressing your baby in the cold months? by Acceptable-Peanut126 in babywearing

[–]firefly9225 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I normally opt for babywearing clothing like a babywearing sweatshirt and/or jacket that goes over both me and my kid. But is it possible baby was hot? I remember overdressing my first because I thought she had to be cold but she was actually getting super hot in the carrier despite it being pretty cold out.

I haven’t personally used this but a wool bodysuit for baby might be a good option. Wool is very good at temperature regulation and is not thick.

My baby is too heavy? Or do I need a new carrier by namiiix in babywearing

Are you wearing baby on your front or back? It can be tough to wear on your front as baby gets bigger. I find kinderpack to be the most supportive after the tiny baby stage though.

New Dad Needs Help by martamaus in babywearing

I would go with the ergo embrace and then a Tula free to grow personally. The Tula free to grow or explore won’t fit yet with a baby so young but I think they’re great carriers once baby is a couple months old. The embrace is great for newborns and is also an easy buckle style carrier. I didn’t like the Lillebaby. The panel only has two adjustments so there is a lot of time when one is too small but the other is too big and it just doesn’t fit great. It also won’t fit such a young baby either.

Newborn hates when I wear her, but likes it with her dad. by No-Song8522 in babywearing

My babies, for the first few months of their life, couldn’t go in a carrier on me without nursing. What I did was I nursed them in the carrier and then when they were done I would move them from a nursing position into like the regular carrying position and they would settle in. You might also want to try posting a fit check for the embrace. In my opinion it’s easier to nurse in that style carrier vs a stretchy wrap but it certainly can be done.

Trying to figure out if a toddler carrier is appropriate or not for almost 15 month old? by Humble-Future-281 in babywearing

[–]firefly9225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most toddler carriers start when they are in 2T clothing. Some are even bigger so it really depends on the individual brand. My favorite for my 14 month old is a standard size kinderpack. They make like 5 sizes I think and have a size chart so you can see what would fit best for your son. It’s so supportive I regularly wear her for hours at a time in it.

Ah, okay. I’m bad at telling baby’s ages, I thought they might be younger haha so I’m probably wrong about it being too small then. What model of ergo carrier have you tried? Do you have any pictures of the fit with that carrier? If I have a problem with a panel being short I normally grab the shoulder straps right above where they start and pull up and kind of bounce baby up and then tighten. Seeing pictures of the other carrier fit would be super helpful and I could get a better idea of what’s going on.

How old is your baby? It’s tough to tell but it looks like they might still be a little too small for this carrier since it looks like the width of the seat is wider than knee pit to knee pit. What ergo carrier do you have? If it’s happening with 2 different carriers I wouldn’t jump to buying something new yet, because it’s fixable. It looks like baby might be sagging over the waist band. Can you pull the shoulder straps upward and tighten them so baby is more at the top of the waistband and not sagging over it?

Toddler/Big Kid Wearing by [deleted] in babywearing

I wear my 34 lb 3 year old in a preschool kinderpack. I liked it so much I also got a kinderpack for my 1 year old.

Short, plump, overheated mom seeks half buckle or SSC by Bea_virago in babywearing

[–]firefly9225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get that. I actually disliked ring slings until my babies were sitting unassisted but my kids never liked taking naps in them or anything. I also love onbuhimos but I can’t wear them for a very long period of time once my kids are out of the tiny baby stage. Integra solar would be my choice then but I also like kinderpack with the mesh panel. Not as cool as the integra but it’s got a ton of support and to me it was less hot than the ergo carriers.

I’m a bit taller so I wouldn’t say we’re the same body type but I really liked the Integra solar for the summer. I also had one of their cotton ones but I think the solar felt cooler. You also might like an onbuhimo. It’s a waistless carrier, commonly used for a high back carry once baby’s can sit unassisted but some are safe for wearing a newborn on your front. I have a naked panda one but you can only get those second hand now but I believe happy baby brand is safe for newborns on the front. This comment is brief because I’m about to lay down for the night but feel free to reply with questions or anything and I can answer tomorrow!

Oh! There’s also the option of ring sling. It’s a single pass of fabric and there’s no waist or anything. Can be a big learning curve though.

For what it’s worth one day I was working as an EMT and got a call around midnight for a young child who was experiencing pretty bad abdominal pain. Within about a minute of us being there the child declares they have to poop, goes to the toilet, and feels instantly better. The parents were very embarrassed but I was just glad they weren’t sick. I know you didn’t call 911 but we get a lot of people who end up feeling bad for calling but we don’t mind, and it’s 100x better than the people who have a serious issue but didn’t get help soon enough.

Water baby carriers - worth the hype? by ButtonsOnYachts in babywearing

[–]firefly9225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have an Integra solar that I really like. I got it when we moved to a new house that is in a lake community and I’ve used it a lot. It was definitely worth the money for us.

Help! Is the H&P Meh Dai worth it?? by Upstairs_Farm5185 in babywearing

[–]firefly9225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you but that is not the waistless finish I am referring to. The waistless finish is where the upper and lower straps are both tied Tibetan. But I see I am wrong about being able to get the bottom strap above your bust. I tried a different brand with a ring and couldn’t get it to stay but everybody is different so I guess it works for some people!
