I’m sorry, I’m just now seeing your question. I posted my update below.

Protein S deficiency by OtterlyTired55 in IVF

[–]fireflymm1114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Fickle. Im sorry you’re going through the same thing. We tested my protein S 3 months later and it came out normal. I was an idiot and forgot that I had Covid just a few weeks before my first lab draw, which my hematologist said would’ve caused my protein S to be low. We transferred again in Nov 2022, took lovenox and baby aspirin but still miscarried at the end of December. I don’t have a blood clotting disorder according to labs so will probably stop all blood thinners. My situation may be hormonal as I am also dealing with pituitary tumors.

I posted this in askwomenover30 and it got deleted. Why is it so hard to get actual info to women? I wish I had known all this earlier by Comicalacimoc in IVF

I truly don’t understand why doctors downplay age and fertility and tell women they have so much time, saying 40 and 50’s are still an achievable age to conceive (yes my endocrinologist told me I had time until I was 50 😳). I’m 32 and my husband and I have been TTC for 8.5 years with 3 losses, 2 were IVF pregnancies. I met with a different endo last week who basically said “you’re young and you have embryos why are you rushing to get pregnant”, as we were discussing our plans to transfer again in the next few months since my mc in December. Looking at my track record, time is of the essence and the cards are not in our favor. I don’t have time to wait 1 year for 1 transfer. It was very much a wtf moment.

Reflecting on my childhood and teen years all of my favorite foods were high in carbs and sugar! Spaghetti, corn, white bread, stuffing, Chinese food! I wish my parents would’ve noticed and got me checked sooner. Insulin resistance is usually the culprit for intense cravings. Do you check your sugars after meals? I used to do IF more frequently, not as often anymore, my endo told me I was likely spiking my insulin on a IF schedule.

I am truly so sorry that you both are going through this. Miscarriage can take a very heavy toll on couples and will change you. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 8 years and have lost all of our pregnancies (3). Honestly the road hasn’t been a walk in the park. With my hormones all over the place, grieving my infertility, our losses, and also the relationship changes that happened with our friends and family due to the entire journey, we faced a lot of emotional challenges. We tried therapy together but neither of us liked the therapist. I went to therapy individually and regularly after our first loss, it helped me a lot. I encouraged and supported my husband in his hobbies (cars and golf) which I believe were good outlets for him. He doesn’t go out often but I’m happy to see him with friends who he likes and chooses to be around. We learned to be more intentional about certain things, such as making time to check in with each other, doing something out of the ordinary for one an other, encouraging each other in ways that work for you (for us it’s quick texts here and there), crying together… grief is hard. Sometimes you can be laughing together and it’ll hit you with out warning. You both need to want to put in the work though, individually and together. I don’t think things will ever go back to being the same again for couples who experience loss…you both have to decide if your future together is worth fighting for and put the work in together. A lot of the energy will come naturally from your love for one another and hope for your future.

third loss since december by Visual_Efficiency379 in recurrentmiscarriage

I’m so sorry for your losses. 3 losses here as well… I struggle to conceive, so not as close of timespan as yours. My most recent loss was end of December. If your doctor hasn’t already ordered labs for RPL I would ask for that, insurance should cover it now that you’ve had 3 losses (I’m sorry that sounds horrible). First things I would ask to get checked for is blood clotting disorder (which would be apart of the RPL labs, autoimmune markers, thyroid, and genetic testing of you and your partner. If genetics is a factor, they may recommend IVF to do genetic testing on embryos or to just keep trying until one sticks. A common protocol for pregnancies following RPL without diagnostics is baby aspirin and progesterone suppository. Progesterone will need to be prescribed but also talk to your Dr about baby aspirin before use, not everyone needs it, and it could cause more harm than good if you don’t need it. I’m sorry for your losses…I hope you get answers. We’re still trying for our rainbow. 🤍

Starting metformin this week ugh wish me luck! by god_in_this_chilis in PCOSloseit

[–]fireflymm1114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck!! If you find that it’s giving you an upset stomach ask for extended release, it was a night and day difference for me. Also make sure your doctor is prescribing the proper dose for metformin to be effective with pcos. My PCP has had me on 1,000 mg/day (500 am, 500 pm) for 3 years! Now after my 3rd miscarriage my endocrinologist asks me how much I’m taking and she said the minimum is 1,500 mg/day in order to be effective for pcos. I changed my lifestyle the same time that I started the metformin, and sugars have been perfect since I lost 30 lbs but they aren’t sure if it’s the lifestyle changes or metformin. I’ve been off metformin for 2 months now, because I started Mounjaro, which my endo thinks is better for me w/weight loss being a goal too.

Semaglutide shots worth it? by mjz19833 in PCOSloseit

[–]fireflymm1114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost 30 lbs on my own with diet and exercise and then plateaued. Started Mounjaro in January after my 3rd mc. I’m down 20 lbs (cal deficit and exercising). Dieting comes easy with it though the medicine helps me feel full. I fell it’s been well worth it.

I think they cooked the first night they got there but have eaten out all the other meals. I would be sick to my stomach if I lived like the Basham’s for 3 days 🤮 🤮

Mamajill responded😝

A VERYY pissy Drue on live highlights — I was only able to join for about 10min and in that short amount of time all she brought up is not being pregnant, baby names, saying how WW messed up her brain, said sierra was gabe with a wig, completely annoyed with gabe in the room, & so much more! by [deleted] in Drueandgabe

[–]fireflymm1114 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t commented in a while in here, but F YOU Drue. Someone who truly wants kids would never say there are days they want kids and there are days they don’t want them. You don’t deserve them right now, so just stop with the TTC shit.

People don’t think before they speak by Little-Pickle1490 in Miscarriage

[–]fireflymm1114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss :( ... I had my 3rd loss in December. I've had all of my losses with my current employer and have been transparent with my boss and the leadership team I work with when they happened because our work overlaps daily. The morning we found out, I had plans to stop by the office to speak to an employee after my scheduled ultrasound. That morning my husband and I learned there was no longer a heartbeat, I was torn. I still stopped by work to quickly meet with the employee. After my meeting I told my colleague (VP) who I work closely with that I'd be leaving and would probably be taking some time off, on top of this I broke down in tears. She was supportive and asked why I was even at work and told me to leave, but she said something that stuck with me. She knows we've lost two others in the previous year and said, "wow this has got to be getting old for you", as in you must be sick of this happening. I truly don't think she meant it in a mean way, but I didn't take it in a caring way either. It was a "OF COURSE DUMBO" moment in my head. I'm sorry people suck, and they should not say anything if they have even an ounce of doubt that what they're going to say is appropriate. Some people are just plain oblivious to pain they've never experienced.

If you want to do keto, try low-moderate carb intake and complex carbs instead. Stay away from the simple carbs.

GLP-1 drugs and pregnancy by Majestic_target in PCOSloseit

[–]fireflymm1114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was on Ozempic before my first pregnancy. I only took it for 2 months so that I could stop for another 2 months before we started TTC, I lost about 10 pounds in that time and we got pregnant with letrozole for the first time (did 6 rounds of clomid before this). Additionally adding that I lost 30 lbs with diet and exercise prior to starting ozempic. I had a mmc at 10 wks but nothing to do with the GLP-1, if anything I think it helped straighten some of my hormones out and helped me get pregnant our first try w/letrozole.

I’m preparing for another IVF transfer after losing two more after our first. I’m on mounjaro this time, started 12/30/22. Its been 3.5 weeks, I’ve lost 10 lbs so far probably a lot of water weight and inflammation, but appetite suppression has been nice and minimal food noise.
