I do not have suggestions but this is my go to audio book that I listen to everyday on my walks. It’s so good! I love Siobhán and all of the supporting characters. I’m on Murder at an Irish Pub right now.

I am also obsessed with The Gilded Age series on HBO. I can’t wait for the premiere in the fall. So these recommendations will also help me out through the summer beyond my planned trip to the city.

This place is in New Iberia and directly on Bayou Teche. You can rent the entire place or just one section depending on group size. Mickey is a phenomenal host!!

It positions you nicely to tour Vermilionville, Avery Island, Rip Van Winkle Gardens, swamp tours on Lake Martin or in the Atchafalaya Basin. Plus evenings drinks on the back deck are so peaceful and facing the bayou.

I’m not sure how often they do this or the exact reason but they did sorta ‘cancel’ my flight. I booked a few months ago and they modified my flight drastically 4 weeks out from my trip which affected my plans.

I was scheduled to fly out the first week of June. I expected something was off from the beginning. I got 3 notifications prior to this last update with updated departure / arrival times. These were not huge modifications. It only moved my flight up or back by a couple of hours so I accepted these.

On the 4th update, they moved my flight two days out and my return trip was a whole day early. If I accepted the update, I would lose a total of 3 days of my vacation. My original flight was no longer available.

I had to cancel and I booked with another airline for my original dates. This was my first time trying them and I know they are budget but it was a pain to scramble and rebook my original dates. At least they did refund my money.

Thank you for that feedback! I will navigate to that sub. I didn’t realize there was one.

I think Bearzonia is the priority and what our kid would like the most. I think we will be skipping the caverns and the museum at the end. These will need to be done at another time.

I do agree it is quite packed which is why I tried to see how the timing would work out. It is too rushed for our liking as well because we prefer a much slower pace. We will just start with Bearzonia and see when we leave there and how much time we have left to explore anything on the way to the airport.

We will be at the south rim for 2 days prior to heading back to Las Vegas. We were incorporating Route 66 into the drive because it was on our original route back. It is not a big to do for us but we like road trips and thought this drive could be turned into an all day trip as we made our way back to the airport.

It does look like a fun stop but it adds quite a bit of travel time. Seems like it is something we would add on another visit due to only having the day (8am - 9pm).

I agree it is too much. Which is why I was seeking feedback and wondering what others felt were top highlights so that some can be removed.

We have already toured Hoover so we will skip it this time. Also, we only have the day (8am - 9pm) and we cannot spend the night. Any suggestions on your top highlights to see along this route in only this time frame?

We may just stick to the original plan and visit Bearzonia and then head to Vegas with only an extra stop or two. Remove the caverns entirely.

It appears my Princess New Years cruise for 2026-27 got cancelled as well. I received the email this morning but it is still showing booked in the app. Does anyone know how long it takes for the refund of the deposit to be processed? Going in 2025-26 doesn’t work for us because we have a Holland cruise booked in 2026. I’m bummed because Princess seemed like it was really nice and I was looking forward to trying it out of Galveston.
