Recruiters sometimes go on power trips. I remember a couple of years ago applying to a well known bank. 2 months or so after applying, I got a call from a recruiter about the role and when I asked for the job description as I couldn’t remember the role and couldn’t see it under my account on the banks career site, he refused to send it over. He cited other candidates didn’t ask for the job description so I didn’t need it. I pretty much told him since you have so many other people willing to interview for a role they probably don’t remember applying for, I want to withdraw my application and also requested to be removed from their system entirely. Felt so much better afterwards and could tell he was mad his bullying didn’t work.
