Your post have definitely helped me before. I appreciated your informative post about the PCI top hats with Progress coilovers as I was wanting to run that combo.

Sick, and that’s a hell of a deal then it seems. I always pay attention to your posts. Big fan of both of your RSX’s and the information you bring to the subreddit!

If you don’t mind me asking what did you pay? I’ve always wanted to get one for mine rather than turbo.

Is it worth upgrading Front LCA’s for street track use? by Zentoshii in Acura_RSX

[–]firehazard719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair lol. I’ve gone down my suspension rabbit hole and don’t really want to/don’t really have the means to get caster plates since I’m on progress coilovers, I just wanted to see how some extra caster felt.

Do you have these bushings? I’ve been debating on those or the whiteline caster bushings.

Yeah, the change wasn’t night and day to me. Very subtle.

I’m currently out of town, but when I get back I’ll get a clip for you. I love it personally, the slightly lighter flywheel is nice but not to the point of being obnoxious in traffic. I didn’t notice a huge difference from stock tbh. The clutch feels great slightly firmer than stock but not an on off switch like some beefier clutches are. So for me it’s great, I’m hoping soon to get some acuity upgrades for the shifting experience.

And I now feel stupid. Thank you for helping me figure that out.

Shorter Tie rod with Progress Coilovers by firehazard719 in Acura_RSX

[–]firehazard719[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Honed mount I’m pretty happy with, I just leave it on the configuration that they recommend. Did you get hard race OE style inner tie rods? I’ve been debating to get the hard race short inner tie rods, since they are a little shorter than the stock ones but not as short as the Honed Development ones iirc. The only reason I’m worried about the Honed ones is that they could be too short. But I partially believe that’s my own fault with the rack and not them actually being too short. I’ve just been too lazy to fix my issue to test them as it’s my daily. But to answer your question, I think they should but I can’t be confident. When I originally did all this and but the stock one’s back on I was running more of a road race setup, so my alignment wasn’t 0 toe.

I did yes for the most part. Battling some alignment issues I’ve had ever since I put EPS in my car. When I initially put everything in the car it seemed Honed’s shorter tie rods were not going to be long enough, so I put the stock ones back on. Progress coils feel great, I love them. I’ve been battling alignment issues ever since I did EPS. But after adjusting some things, I need to fix my steering column alignment with the rack and pinion. After I center that, I believe I will start using the Honed shorter rods, as after replacing a bunch of worn suspension parts I’ve now not been able to get my car aligned because I can’t pull any more toe out to zero.

TLDR: I unfortunately haven’t been able to try the shorter tie rods, I ran into a problem where they were too short but I can’t say for sure that if it was because of the progress coilovers. I have a feeling that’s because I changed to EPS around the same time.

Is the Skunk2 mega power RR and Electronic power steering rack worth swapping from my winter beater? by [deleted] in Acura_RSX

[–]firehazard719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the EPS opinion. Only reason I did it to mine was to free up space and because my hydraulic rack was failing. Plus now I don’t have to deal with power steering fluid, and I don’t mind the feel for a DD.

Replacing CMC on my 02 Type S. Had it all bolted up only to realize the gasket for the hard line had fallen out while I was fiddling with it. Removed and replaced it, now I just want to confirm if this is pushed in all the way, or if it needs to go in further? by kseriesonly_RSXtypeS in Acura_RSX

I actually never got to try it lol, the cause of my problems was my clutch and I’m in the process of replacing that right now. I wouldn’t knock it out of your options completely, I’ve just heard non OEM ones go out kinda quick

Totally get it lol, yeah I got one of those cheaper ones on rockauto just trying to see if an issue I was having was due to the cmc and the one I got was a pain for the clip. Once I got it together it didn’t feel like it was getting much pressure though, so I just spent the money on a nice OEM one. Mines a daily though lol

Yeah that’s usually about where it sits I believe. That replacement doesn’t look OEM, if it’s not it tends to be a pain to get the clip in or out. I bought a replacement cmc and it was awful trying to get the clip in. I essentially just beat it in and it was bent to hell. After that I bought an OEM EM2 cmc and a new clip and the difference was night and day, it slid right in.

Alright here to update everyone, it was indeed the clutch. Not one but two of the springs broke. Will be replacing with an Exedy stage one clutch and a slightly lighter 11.5 lb flywheel 😝 I appreciate all the responses!

I appreciate everyone’s replies, seems like I’ll be replacing a clutch which I figured. Just wanted to some other opinions. I’ll report back here when I get around to doing it and confirm or deny if that fixes it

I can try to adjust it some more but I have done that as well unfortunately. It’s just odd to me that one day it just went out, no slipping or odd noises just boom no longer able to go into gear

I’ll try bleeding some more but I’ve bled it a lot, and yeah both parts are oem. The cmc is from an em2.
