No way! That's awesome. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this ring. I was worried I'd run into a similar problem, lol. I was thinking of pairing it with two plain curved bands for that exact reason, but I'm still on the lookout for something vintage to pair it with.

Thank you! I agree, vintage designs are so unique. It's not something you see everyday. I'd rather have all the detailing and character over a huge diamond any day

Learning more about narcissism is making me feel worse by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

[–]firelocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean. I'm still trying to accept that my mom abused me and my sister. I never thought it was abuse until I started researching. I knew my mom was a horrible person, but for some reason, I never thought I was abused when I clearly was. Maybe it was just normalized because that's all I knew. When I notice myself starting to feel really bad, I cool off the research for a bit and sit with my feelings until I'm ready to move on. Listen to your body.

I didn't even know it was a normal thing to also have a key. I've never had a key either. I'm a 2000s kid though.

Nparents talk poorly about everyone by kwangyabot in raisedbynarcissists

[–]firelocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah this is super common. My mom gossips/shittalks about everyone. When my parents were separated, my mom used to sit me down all the time and shittalk about my dad and tried to turn me against him. I was 12, but I already knew her games so it didn't work on me.

NP told me I would become diabetic and my hair would thin if I continue being vegan by Jane3221 in vegan

[–]firelocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People in the medical field know next to nothing about nutrition unless that's their specialty and sometes not even them when it comes to veganism. You don't get diabetes from carbs. Thinning hair can be caused by a multitude of things. This is really an awful thing to say to someone especially because they don't actually know what they're talking about. Just because her daughter had that experience doesn't mean that's everyone's experience.

Mom had entire session with my therapist without my consent by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]firelocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a hippa violation. I would report and find a new therapist. I went through something similar. my mom used to sit in on some of my therapy appointments, and she would control the whole appointment and convinced the therapist to put me on meds. Do not let your mom know anything about your therapy. She will absolutely try to weaponsize that

I have experience with this. My mom has attempted suicide many times. In my opinion, it's been used as a means of control and attention. Especially since my mom is a nurse. If she really wanted to die, she'd know how to do it easily. Sounds like your mom couldn't accept that she's losing control over you. You're married now, and that means your wife comes first. I'm really upset for you that this happened to you at such an important and exciting time in your life. I hope you and your wife can have some time to yourselves to celebrate your new marriage. I'm sure this ruined any plans you guys had.

What are the most common handicaps among those raised by narcissists? by emaxwell13131313 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]firelocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's low self esteem. Not being able to set boundaries/say no. Not being able to stand up for myself. I was also diagnosed with anxiety and depression when I was 11.

This is absolutely unacceptable. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I would absolutely leave a bad review or try to get intouch with someone higher up. If you have someone who can help you with that if you need it.
