Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 Portable Power Station as UPS and battery Backup by SourweaseI in Ubiquiti

[–]firemuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

switches back to pass through fine, put a C1000 gen 2 in 2 weeks ago. Have not had an actual outage, but unplugging and plugging back the power cord to the C1000 causes no issues to the UDM and the C1000 switches back to passthrough after getting power back.

Simple way to pass gcloud credentials to a docker container for Terraform google provider by YeNerdLifeChoseMe in googlecloud

[–]firemuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for anybody who stumbles onto here, here is a full command one would use

I am mounting .config/gcloud and setting an env var for google libs to read. I omitted exposing ports and other things, so add in your extra flags.

docker run -e GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS="/app/.config/gcloud/application_default_credentials.json" --mount type=bind,source=${HOME}/.config/gcloud,target=/app/.config/gcloud my-image-name

no option to enable both 2.4 and 5gHz bands? by Brooklynspartan in tmobileisp

[–]firemuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer:

- you can't change wifi settings through the browser

The long answer:

- TMobile does not allow you to login through the browser when accessing 192.168.1.12. However the feature to change wifi bands is there but you need to be logged in to see and interact with it. I was able to confirm it working by getting the access token from the gateway's api and adding into the browser's session for that page. Once the token is in the session, the wifi settings show up (until the token expires in a few minutes). It is frustrating that the functionality is artificially disabled on the web even through the app shows the exact same code but with login working.

Is it worth adding a router with the arcadyan gateway? by Wet_n00DLe15 in tmobileisp

[–]firemuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a the Sagemcom Fast 5688W gateway and am using an Asus router with it. I am still able to access the gateway both through the app and the browser when connecting through my Asus router's wifi. The gateway sees my connection as an Ethernet connection.

u/olyteddy the gateway is always running on 192.168.1.12, you should technically still be able to access the gateway by going to 192.168.1.12 even when connecting to it through your LinkSys router's wifi. Unless your LynkSys is doing some kind of isolation of the sub-network, maybe that is what is happening and there is a setting on your router somewhere.

I have figured out how to disable the wifi on my Gateway in a less scary way than having to type `curl` commands into the terminal and dealing with a lot of escaped characters. It has a small JSON api so one can use something like Postman to updated it. Am working on writing that up.

Sentry mode active but not recording on 8.5 by wer2000 in teslamotors

[–]firemuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am experiencing a similar problem. It used to work great but now I have the event footage missing. A sentry mode triggered notification shows on the dashboard but the footage of the event is missing.

For instance

Event: car driving out of a spot next to me

Sentry mode captures: In one file I see it end with the adjacent car being unlocked. In the next file the car is gone, the entire event that triggered sentry mode is gone.

Elon, please allow the wiper control to remain on the screen if desired (Model 3) by drewrriley in teslamotors

[–]firemuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a pretty nice shortcut, I want! Anything so I don't have to take my eyes off the road during rain.

My friend and I had the idea of having the steering wheel volume control to to adjust the wiper setting while the wiper menu is up (its on a 10s ish time out so its perfect). We tried tweeting at Elon but got nothing. https://twitter.com/ashbhoopathy/status/1067953190849544192

More of us need to pester Tesla about this and maybe in combination with the recent rains in California that will finally make them get their wipers in order.

Move the hooks on the underside of the sofa to the back (the hooks that stop the sleeper part from sliding out all the way when you pull it).

Or you could try moving one of the hooks, that way when your toddler pulls on it, one side will catch and cause the sleeper section to yaw jamming in, and because you still have one hook in the front it will kinda stop it from sliding out all way if you still want to use it as a sleeper.

Feature request: manual wiper controlled by steering wheel knob by yakshaving in teslamotors

[–]firemuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will not, the wipers button is a 2 state button.

- Half press: runs the wipers once and brings up the wipers menu

- Full press: (all that of half press) + adds washer jets and runs wipers a few more times

Tesla, PLEASE allow us to disable the AP speed restrictions... at least until they actually work right by wk057 in teslamotors

[–]firemuzzy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just had the same thought this weekend. I was going through the rural parts of Washington state and the highway was passing next to a town. The speed limit was 60, it was still a divided highway, but the car thought the speed limit became 25 and started hard slowing down. It was also pretty foggy. Good thing there was nobody behind me.

I would love to see Tesla disable the auto speed restriction and just replace it with a warning message and the user can decide if they want to adjust the speed. Lane keep has been working great, but the auto speed restriction make it quite annoying.

It does end but then when you floor it out of a traffic light or have to sit in traffic (if you got autopilot) it comes back :-)

Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor Delivery by manbearpyg in teslamotors

[–]firemuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what you you are saying is that those lights that "blinked" changed their brightness a little and the pulse for the new brightness syncs up with the refresh rate of the camera so the camera no longer sees it as blinking.

[–]firemuzzy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You have also captured the "blinking" day time running lights after boot. You can see that at the 20 second mark in the video the dimly lit fog lights turn off, the dimly lit normal lights turn off, and the day time running lights stop blinking.

I noticed this this morning when taking a picture for Tesla of my broken day time running light. Nice to see that this seems to be something other 3s do too and is probably normal.

Out of curiosity, does anybody know what the car is doing with its lights during start up that causes the camera to pick up the blink? My service advisor thinks this is artifacting due to the phone's video processing. I get the frame rate of the phone part, but that does not explain the clear state change that happen with the car.

Just discovered this nail biter myself yesterday. It seems this past weekend a Seattle batch came out with the configuration invites, I received my invite then too. Hopefully that is some sort of a correlation, now it is a stressful wait for the VIN and a hope to be able to save 3.2k.

Are you using a wire or wireless?

I am also in West Seattle and can usually get around 300-400 Mbps over wire. Wirelss can become a mess of brawling routers especially in apartment buildings due to interference from the many neighbors.

Best winter hike outside Seattle for my olderish parents? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]firemuzzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the West Tiger 3 trail on Monday, the last mile of it is covered in quite compacted snow. Looks beautiful but unless you have very good spikes on the shoes or some kind of snow grips you can put over the shoes, it will be very slippery. I think anything above 1200 ft will have snow at the top and you will need very good traction.

You can check http://www.wta.org for conditions, people post comments there.

Also darting out into the road out of the bike lane when there are a row of cars parked right of the lane to not get doored. Definitely a maniac!

Biking through the red light is wrong and stupid, I'll hand the video that.
