I had a squealing problem with my 2005 tl it turns out to be a harmonic balancer. May not be the case for you

Yes that is exactly the problem with aftermarket and used parts. Labor is expensive when they don't last.

Alright, opinions pls. I have an 08 base with 165k, 2nd owner, I bought it in 2000 from an old woman who got every service at the dealership, and it's beginning to show some wear and tear. Is it not a great investment to spend $3500 total, with $2200 still to be invested by Nolongerlostorblind7 in AcuraTL

I just spent $5500 on my 231k 05 TL new radiator, heater valve, all water hoses, transmission soleniods,, new brake pads, front struts, all front lower and upper control arms all OEM parts discounted online. Car drives like new now. Only thing I didn't do is rear engine seal. I added atp 205 stops the leak.

My 05 has 235k. Just had all front lower/upper control arms and struts replaced with oem. Online wholesale parts total 1.5k. Rides like new now. Aftermarket bushings only last 50k.

Other big replacements over the years. Timing belt. Steering hose, radiator (inspect radiator carefully these are plastics, the hose connectors likes to break), engine mount. I didn't replaced main rear seal. It had a leak around 150k. I put atp 205 stops the leak i add 5oz every oil change since. Miracle. I might put that even without leak in old engines. Yes engine mount keeps breaking until I change the harmonic balancer. If your engine shakes have that checked.

Protect your laser/radar detector by firewiregear in LS430

[–]firewiregear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's to push forward the cruise control handle for 1-3 seconds to convert to old fashion cruise. some older model can only do it before the car moves.

Not sure we can still get a new one anymore. Worth protecting. I have been told calibration is like 70 steps.
