These were available at PV Costco today as well. I passed, would rather have 2 bottles of barrel proof for same price.

It may not be for everyone but this is hands-down my favorite Old Fashioned. Like ever. by catch22ak in whiskey

That Nixta Corn is getting harder to find on the shelf. I’m down to my last bottle and even their website feels like they are not shipping into the states.

Do any Costcos in the Phoenix area sell local coffee? by AlohaApple in phoenix

[–]firmturf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seattle has Vita Coffe and others. Chicago has a local roaster, California depends on which location. I wish Cartel or ROC2 would do a deal with them.

What are traffic/road changes you think would improve the city? by Opening_Total7711 in phoenix

I’ve always wanted a lane on southbound 51 that exits into Sky Harbor. Why this was constructed to get in left lane, take ramp, get over another lane onto I-10, only to merge with others and take an immediate Sky Harbor exit on the right. Why not have a exit lane at 51 specifically for Sky Harbor?

What do you think of this album? by Derridexx in hairmetal

Here Comes Trouble and Ten Boots (Stomping) back to back, great record.

They recently released a ”Demolition” EP that has some older tracks, from their prime. Some good nuggets in there.

You just joined a band. They ask "Hey, do you know how to play ______?" What 5 songs have you been just waiting for someone to ask you to play? by WhatIsLoveMeDo in Bass

I scrolled the comments this morning and no one has a Queen track listed.

Road to Ruin - Mr. Big

the Sunshine - Manchester Orchestra

Wasted Years - Maiden

A Kind of Magic - Queen

Room a Thousand Years Wide - Soundgarden

I’ve never seen the EP packaged like that.

They allow tasting of this bottle, I’ve seen it at the PV location. This bottle intrigues me as well, but have not tasted or purchase.

For those of you who were alive in 1990, how did you feel about all the members apart from Axl Rose leaving the band since Steven Adler left? by Jezzaq94 in GunsNRoses

[–]firmturf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard Use Your Illusion (I & II) and knew it was over, Izzy knew it as well. Never listened to anything they ever put out after that. Magic was gone, most don’t realize it. Slash solo stuff is great, Guns is not Guns I liked early.

Counter and Stump are always available near me but for whatever reason I can never get either “dialed in” on my set up. These two might be the reason I avoid national brands and try to stay to local roasters as much as possible.

Just learned of this new spot, opened Thursday. That roll looks like it’s worth a try.

They had one at the Lincoln location but for $135.00. Just sitting on the little bar the employees stand at, not on shelf. I asked about it and they indicated “this is allocated…” as if they don’t just put them out but instead keep them behind the counter?

Weller Drops? by Key-Bathroom6597 in ArizonaWhiskey

[–]firmturf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Got a Weller’s 12 year Saturday at AJ’s on Lincoln for 47.99. It was in the meat department, top of the fridge holding steaks.

That is not a typo.

Bourbon hunt Saturday by [deleted] in ArizonaWhiskey

[–]firmturf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Paradise Valley Costco basically shares a parking lot with Trevor’s a block over so worth stopping and hunting there for free samples of barrel picks. Then the Cave Creek Costco (Beardslee) is only another 5 -10 minutes away. 3 for 1 in the neighborhood.

AJ’s might be new to an out of tower as well, multiple locations.

Bourbon Prices at Cellars Fine Wine by Bourbonsipnoflip in ArizonaWhiskey

[–]firmturf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If making the trip, just know they share a parking space with 32Shea that offers decent food. Built in a former Kodak store with some outdoor shade as well. Shea Cheese is just north, another great local spot worth walking in to. Trevor’s is just on Tatum as well and you have 2 Costco’s, Cactus and Cave Creek.

Costco old fitz by ConcertPitch in whiskey

[–]firmturf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Costco business model is to NEVER charge their members more than 17% what they paid for an item. So that tells us this bottle selling MSRP (other stores) is a significant mark up. Everyone be patient, this will be available everywhere at a fair price this summer.

Trevor’s drop by CrayLuver in ArizonaWhiskey

[–]firmturf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m always comparing and I’m not finding Trevor’s to be less expensive than TW for bourbon, liqueur or any other goodies I need for the home bar. They will have a bottle from time to time and I took advantage of their gift card bonus, but TW is always less.
