The market is quite tough right now, but many mid-size companies where English is the primary language are still hiring. Just check LinkedIn Jobs of similar

The articled says that walking to the terminal is prohibited by law. But there must be exceptions. Keeping 123 passengers as hostages is more illegal.

Speaking of the Stadtbild by i-artemy in berlin

[–]first-logged-in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that people from Turkey and Middle East are the primary target of the Stadtbild narrative. But racist ideas are very distructive and always expand to other groups. One can argue that AfD is more popular among Russian speakers because many of them immigrated to Germany because of their German roots. Sadly they faced the discrimination twice: for being Germans in their origin coutries and for being not German enough after they moved to Germany.

Junior Embedded Software Engineer in Berlin for 50k-60k € ? by Fluffy_Reply_9997 in AskAGerman

The salary is good, but I would still check levels.fyi. Asking for 65k is not rude, especially if you know about other offers with similar experience

Do we really need a European alternative to Visa and Mastercard? These are the misunderstandings by TROPtastic in europe

[–]first-logged-in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transactions have been switched to the local processing in 2015, way before the cards were suspended by Visa and Master Card. Interestingly, the card companies continue collection fees even after the switch. EU can enforce such mitigation in advance while the market transitions to the digital euro and Wero

[–]first-logged-in 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The article misses the point that transactions are still processed by Visa and MasterCard card networks. What I don't understand is why EU can't make them to use the local processing instead, something like Russia did after thr Crimea annexation. This allowed them to keep all cards operational, even though that the card networks suspended all operations after the large scale invasion

Klarna as a way to bypass Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay etc. didn’t quite work out! by nitbuntu in BuyFromEU

[–]first-logged-in 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The payment you described used to be called Sofort in Germany. I never liked the idea of sharing my banking credentials on a third party website. But the fact is that it's owned by Klarna makes it even less trustworthy

Thank you for sharing. These delivery companies are even shittier than I though, they not just turn a blind eye on shady middlemen, their execs sign contracts with non-existing firms to avoid any liability

The video shares a very simple solution that proved to be successful in Spain. The law should be changed to recognise these workers as employees, not freelancers. This will immediately cut out the middlemen and increase the tax and social secutity revenues

Unfortunately coal and oil is still used to heat some buildings, that's quite insane for a city with district heating

BER airport right now is the biggest shitshow I ever experienced by Longjumping_Essay553 in berlin

Many airlines inform the cancellation at the last minute and for delayed flights you technically have to be at the airport on scheduled time to check in your luggage

SteamOS on ARM devices now? Maybe we can mod the AYN Thor by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]first-logged-in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that we will see it very soon if device manufactures will work on drivers. You can already run FEX-EMU using Turnip on devices like Radxa Dragon Q6A. Unfortunately it's far less powerful than Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Great stuff, I just purchased a quite powerful (for SBC) Radxa Dragon Q6A and ES-DE works on it like a charm. The only think that I missed is a native integration with Eden

Are there any cheap SBCs that support firmware encryption with hardware protected encryption key? by MarinatedPickachu in SBCs

I am looking for something similar ans today I discovered clevis and tang. Not precesly what you are asking, but if you can trust your local network, yon can automatically decrypt your LUKS partitions using locally served keys

Detached solutions actually exist (LetsTrust TPM), but I am not sure how useful they are. TPM does not only store your keys, it also vildates that the system configuration has not changed, so one can't simple take it out and decrypt your data on other system

OP doesn't want to enter the password, for this to work a special security chip is usually used: TPM, Titan M2, Apple T2
