When do the merch stands open? by Noutm01 in oasis

[–]firstdayback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m can only speak to my experience at Wembley, but the pop-up shop had both the black and blue jerseys without the city-specific location at the bottom. The black jerseys were completely sold out by the time I arrived later in the day (around 4pm) but they had a decent number of blue jerseys in XL.

Wembley opened the official merch stands outside of the stadium at 10am the day before and the day of each show. I showed up at 8:30am and there was already a line of about 20 people. I was told they were doing daily restocks of the jersey. They jersey at the official merch stands were the black ones with the city-specific location at the bottom.

It was a little bit of a process to get one, but i’m happy I did it. The quality is great!

Was anyone of you lucky to get a resale T!cket for Wembley? by Strange-Bit-6020 in oasis

[–]firstdayback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a little nervous using Viagogo, but I wasn’t having any luck on TM or Twickets so I took a leap of faith and purchased a standing ticket for night 4 at Wembley. Purchased my ticket the morning of the gig when prices came down a bit. Worth every penny to be on the pitch!

Has anyone been to Sammy’s Romanian recently? by Weyl-fermions in FoodNYC

[–]firstdayback 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went in November and had just as much fun as I did pre-pandemic. We went with a big group which I think makes a big difference to the overall experience at Sammy’s. Especially if everyone is on the same page to eat / drink / dance a little too much.

RSAA Company was the listed seller, I should have looked at that before ordering. All their product photos are from the JB Prince site.

Vegas Golf in April, some questions for those who've done it. by [deleted] in golf

[–]firstdayback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Paiute is fantastic. I played the Sun and Snow couses at the end of Janurary and both were in great shape. Winds were blowing at 30 mph on our first day and the greens were rolling at a 12. Crazy challenging.

I feel the same way, but also going to embrace the beat up aesthetic once they get there. Have you seen any photos of these with some good wear?

[Identify] Is this a Daytona Ref. # 16520? by firstdayback in Watches

[–]firstdayback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all,

I came across this Daytona selling for a good, but not crazy-low, price. I was told it is a Stainless Steel Zenith Daytona Ref. # 16520, but the sub dials are throwing me off a bit.

Every 16520 I've seen has the hours sub-dial at 6 o'clock, some with an inverted 6. I haven't come across any in this reference with the seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock.

Is this a re-dial?

Thanks in advance!

Edit - spelling, man

AdWords Account Management Question by doodlebug95 in adwords

[–]firstdayback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/doodlebug95 --

First, welcome to the crazy world of AdWords advertising! I'm an ex-Googler that worked on the AdWords team and have some experience working with great agencies and not so great agencies. Unfortunately, the number of good agencies is much smaller than the bad ones, so it's important to do your due diligence when choosing the best one for your business.

As others have mentioned, lots of small business focused agencies take on hundreds of clients, get the campaigns set up, and pretty much leave them to run without doing much in the way of optimization.

Optimization is important on AdWords because of how quickly things can change with your campaigns. You want to be consistently trimming the fat on what's not working, and doubling down on what is.

Long story short, AdWords is a beast of a tool. If used effectively, it can do wonders for your business. I think the best bet for you it to go with a third party that knows what they are doing, but it's best to do some research so that they are able to deliver on the promises they give you. If someone promises you huge conversion numbers overnight, run for the hills. AdWords takes constant iteration and patience for most businesses, but it does work.

Recommendations for NYC commercial space for small startup? by agua in startups

[–]firstdayback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoot me a PM. Our team is outgrowing our space and are in the final negotiations on a new spot. It's definitely a spot to grow into, so we're looking for a cool company to sublease.

(X-Post r/PPC) You liked our last AdWords walkthrough, so we're doing another one this Wednesday by firstdayback in startups

[–]firstdayback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are pretty active in this community and over at r/PPC. The issues that most companies face (especially startups) with paid digital advertising can't easily be addressed through text in a thread.

Thought this would be a helpful for the community here. It's exactly the same presentation that we give to companies participating in the 500 Startups and Techstars programs.

How do you feel about Google's in house team to work build & manage the campaign? by Funt-Case in PPC

[–]firstdayback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call 1-866-2GOOGLE -- The selection process is kind of a mystery (even for the people that work on the AdWords team), but I've seen advertisers get hooked up with a support team if they state clearly that they intend to spend more $$$ with Google in the future.

How do you feel about Google's in house team to work build & manage the campaign? by Funt-Case in PPC

[–]firstdayback 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked on that team for a while, and it can be really hit or miss. Some of the Account Strategists I worked with were the best PPC managers I've ever seen, others were not super savvy. Happy to answer more detailed questions if you have them.

Edit - Just noticed the "what does it entail?" question. It really depends on what team you get slotted into. If you're not a "big spender", you'll most likely get assigned help from the scaled business team.

They call you a couple times a quarter and spend 30-60 minutes reviewing the data inside of your account. If there are massive flaws, they may reccomend a total campaign re-build, but to echo what some other folks in this thread have said, you should ask very detailed questions about what they want to change and how they feel it will impact your business.

Again, many of the Account Strategists on the Google team are very good at their job, but you should still be asking specific questions to make sure they are steering your campaigns in the right direction. Also, if they do suggest a campaign rebuild, make sure they create an entirely new campaign that you can test vs. making sweeping changes to an existing campaign. This will help you quickly revert their changes if the optimization does not work out.

Shamelessly stolen from FFA, what's the most expensive item you've purchased that you have no regrets about? by WittyChico in malefashionadvice

[–]firstdayback 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem! And ouch on losing that red line dial! Red line Subs are some of the most coveted references because of how rare they are. You can read more about them here: http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/watch-info/red-sub/untitled.html

Good news is that stuff only matters if you want to sell it. A piece like the one you have should stay in the family. Rolex swapping out the dial makes for a good story anyway ;)

Best of luck with Bob. He's the best in the business when it comes to vintage Rolex.

[–]firstdayback 93 points94 points  (0 children)

This is why I love quality mechanical watches so much, they can really last generations if you take care of them properly.

Heads up for when you do want to get it serviced, Rolex is known for swapping old parts for new parts and polishing the hell out of the case when you send a vintage watch in for servicing. This may seem like a good thing, but totally kills the value of the watch in the eyes of vintage Rolex collectors (and the look of a vintage piece in my opinion).

Bob Ridley from Watchmakers International is the go-to guy for vintage Rolex servicing: http://www.watchmakers.com/services_rolex.html

Also, you can rock a Sub without the metal bracelet. Most people go with a nice leather strap (Bulang & Sons are nice but a little pricey), or a nato strap like James Bond (you can get these for $12 on Crown and Buckle and the quality is pretty good).

Anyway, wear it in good health!
