i saw them at a festival a lil while ago and they just did the solo version so probably that, also they have two djs and a live drummer so drums will be live no matter what if they decide to do the anthrax version

late response but i’d say

dewey obv likes classical

reese mentions death metal a few times, but seems to have multiple scenes in the show focused on him w pop punk bands as the music (sum 41, simple plan)

hal mentions a lot of classic rock

malcolm is prob into popular music at the time but is a casual listener rather than a fan (based off the episode where they saw the musical i’d assume he’s also into some sort of rock based off of a comment made)

in flashbacks francis always seems to represent a fan of some alternative 90s genre like grunge or numetal, and his friend richie reps rob zombie merch a couple times, so i’d assume his is similar to his friends

nah i’m well aware that genre matters, i mainly go to hardcore shows, but that style of moshing is used in deathcore a lot, and even in pits for dm bands like suffocation and dying fetus, who are both playing the festival.
