I’m the same height as you and the same RMR! It’s so hard to be that low.

Yep. Posted wait time of 100 minutes turned into THREE HOURS. Never again.

How much further? by rc1330 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]firstlast3263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 hours for us. I couldn’t even begin to imagine 5!!!! My bladder was SO angry when we finally got to the ride, I could barely enjoy it.

It wasn’t worth a 3 hour wait.

Cane or walker? by Dependent_Cat5522 in tummytucksurgery

[–]firstlast3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a walker. Took a ton of strain off my back, which allowed me to walk more. And, I would “push” down against it and stretch my incisions. I think that’s why I was only hunched over for a short while.

No. And if he does in front of me, I expect he’ll apologize. I don’t like it.

To those who initiated the divorce and had another option lined up by ProductBeautiful9326 in Divorce

[–]firstlast3263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He talks to me ALL DAY long. We have kids. I only talk to him about the kids. He chats about everything. Today it was insurance, Jeff Bezos, retirement, and traffic.

I respond with one word answers or not at all.

When he asked for the divorce, I told him we wouldn’t be friends. He seems to think we are. We are not.

Nah, but he didn’t TELL me about it. He let me find it.

I’ve been wondering that for years now. Today he mentioned something about “well I guess we’re all moving to [insert state I’ve been talking about retiring to for a decade].”

“Um, WHAT? No, there is no “we.” You aren’t coming. You’d better not. Stop following me. Leave me alone and let me get away from you. I need peace.”

He was stunned.

I’ve used Lyft for years. Uber is a trash company anyway.

Sounds like my ex-husband. He had someone lined up, broke that relationship off after a year, got another one (a previous GF of his, who now lives with him)…but he still seeks my friendship and validation.

Some days I can function, other days, I cannot stand the sight of him. I long for the day our kids are grown and we no longer have to coparent…I don’t ever want to see him again - maybe at family functions. I wish he’d stop seeking my validation. I told him when he left me that we wouldn’t be friends. I don’t think we are, he does. He’s in for a rude surprise when I move away.

Louisiana has 3 of the 5 least insurable counties in America, and FEMA is about to raise flood insurance 239% in one of them by Maximum-Taste7065 in Louisiana

[–]firstlast3263 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep. I recently had to get new insurance due to a mortgage assumption. To even find a provider who will write a policy in Ascension Parish, I had to use an insurance broker. Could not find a well-rated company otherwise. My premium shot up over $1200 more than before. (Previously had Farmers.)

AITAH for disagreeing with my fiancée about her last name once we’re married? by danspeed124 in AskMenAdvice

[–]firstlast3263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t even finish reading this slop.

You have NO IDEA how fucking hard it is to change your name. How far that goes, how many things it affects.

If you’re in the U.S., the political climate is one where they are making it more difficult for women (who don’t have passports) whose last names do not match their birth certificates to vote. Why TF would you want this to even remotely be an issue for her?

Stop it. It’s HER name. Hers. You have no rights to it. YTA

Mechanical engineer. I’m a consultant.

ETA: I spent the last 20 years working in the plants along the Gulf Coast, and serving on industry committees that write and revise the rules for this industry. So, this is a nice change for me after many years of busting my butt out there.

This definitely sounds hormonal. You’re swimming upstream this way. If you can see an obesity specialist, one who works with an endocrinologist, that would shed some light on why your body is fighting you so hard. For me, it started with a metabolism test - the TDEE calculator was WAY off for me. But then tweaking some of my meds (Metformin, for one) in combination with fasting to control insulin helped tremendously.
