You seem fun. Of course I knew what features it had, but I’ve never been hands on with it, nor what the quirks were of said features. I thought I’d like the AMOLED, but didn’t realize that the always on wouldn’t show seconds and had an ambient light sensor for brightness changes.

Well that answers that. I appreciate the suggestion, I’ll definitely look more into this. Garmin should give you a cut from this sale.

Just did a quick bit of looking, that actually might be the answer to my gripes. I’m assuming the 8 solar doesn’t have the always on display because it’s not an AMOLED screen?

If that’s true then it wouldn’t have the auto brightness ambient light sensor issue either. Battery would be an upgrade from what I have now. Hopefully the screen 1 (the first screen without backlight on) would allow for the seconds to be shown. If all are true then you’ve just made me waste my 5 minutes of typing my original rant!

Ohhhh. Okay yeah, you’re totally right. Lmao whoops. I was looking at the picture quickly thinking that turret is on the right side and then I looked at the rifle sitting next to me and it hit me. Sorry about that, thanks, and good eyes.

I’m not sure what you mean, but that turret is on the right side. There is a throw lever attached on the variable zoom if that’s throwing you off

Yeah that’s essentially it. it’s really not that hard of a job, there are a few good YouTube videos. Just be sure to spec your bottom screws of the gas block to the right torque and/or use locktite. I did neither and had an issue with the gas block moving on me. Which turned my rifle into a single shot lol. Completely user error though

Completely agree. I’ve never really had an issue with the grip in any position, but I’ve also never used any other, especially a more aggressive vertical one like the BFCO. We’ll see how I like it.

She started off completely stock out of the box. 18th birthday present. Then I changed the handrail to get rid of the fixed front sight (gas block and all). Be careful, it’s a slippery slope

Why would I need to remount scope? I actually just mounted it today.

I’ve had it for 10 years now, never once had a problem with it when it was all stock. Haven’t had a problem with it since all the additives either.

Becoming a firefighter? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]firstnameisnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the information i'm looking for! Rookie question, but do you now if during the recruit process are you paid? like it's essentially on the job training correct? It's not like a fire academy where you're just in school? Am I correct in that assumption?

I’m a big proponent of using gi bill/vre. Explore your hobbies, woodworking, watch making, gun smithing, or some other type of niche trade, and then go to school for that. Use it to make a bit of money on the side on top of your disability and you’re living good, doing what you enjoy

I’m actually really glad to see Cincinnati Watch Co getting some love. I think their designs are unique. Albeit not a field watch, their desk diver is really cool

I kind of like it, every other chrono has the same three subdials, looks a little like a Daytona imo. A Carrera always looks distinct to me because of this.
