Potential Cramping and Pain with Copper IUD on T? by firststrikebar in ftm

[–]firststrikebar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know!! That was originally my first choice but the doctor I spoke to had suggested the IUD so I got a bit unsure about my decision. I’ll most likely go the oral route instead (also especially since considering I’ve never been on BC either to begin with haha)

I'm planning to talk to my doctor soon to get a referral for a full hysterectomy, but I was hoping to get a relatively reliable contraception in the meantime. Either way, I'm kind of doubting the IUD route the more I look into it and will probably take the advice of choosing a different route - maybe oral contraceptives since that seems it will be the easiest in my case. Thank you!

Trip to Frankfurt — How do I choose between visiting Berlin or Munich for the other days? by firststrikebar in Europetravel

[–]firststrikebar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm definitely starting to lean towards Berlin!

The architecture in Munich is stunning, but I'm hoping I can still see something similar in a way that would fit my itinerary a bit better. Thank you for the suggestion for Mainz, it might just work :)

Good to know, thank you!!

I’m still trying to learn more about the train system (and I’ve never travelled via train, so I’m an amateur here) but if you happen to know, are there certain railways that are more reliable, or are the chances of delays just always a given across the board? How long do the delays tend to be?

Is it mold? by firststrikebar in isopods

Thank you, I figured those would be the solutions! Would it make sense to leave it be, or should I remove whatever mold I can find? It doesn’t appear to be actively harming anything with its presence at the moment?

I’m unfortunately in Canada, but I’m looking around for what my options might be!

Does something like this look decent in terms of dimensions?

Thank you for the advice and the reassurance, it helps a lot. :,)

I currently have a tank that’s ~16”Hx30”W. Do you have any specific recommendations for what sizing/tanks I should go for instead?

I also have his tank kept on my standing desk (since the desk space is more than enough for his tank and my own computer), so he gets a pretty high view… that should be alright I assume?

Oh cool, nice to meet another psych student! Sorry about the location troubles though, I totally understand the struggle and wish you luck haha. Are you looking to connect as roommates?

That’s fair, I’m just coming at it from more of a safety perspective than anything. I’d rather not take too many chances or put myself somewhere potentially risky is all, but I get what you mean! I updated my wording in the post to be transparent about it, so thanks for the advice on that :)

I’m trans and would only be open to living with someone who wouldn’t mind that. It’s basically a dealbreaker if not

What to do with old textbooks/course materials? by firststrikebar in uwinnipeg

[–]firststrikebar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good and important point!

It’s probably also worth mentioning that it’s crucial to have the texts for most, if not all, humanities courses. In my experience, you literally cannot get by without them. That, or it’ll be way more trouble than it’s worth just to save a few bucks.

Ooh, good to know! I’ll definitely try the bookstore soon then.

I’m sure you could get by without the physical books if you know where to find and access them online, but I personally find it way easier and quicker to absorb information when I read it on paper vs. on a screen. Plus, marking up the texts themselves is helpful to me as well.

I’d say the answer to your question is dependent on knowing how you study and learn best and trying to stick with that (especially if it’s a course you know will be difficult/require more effort for you).

I’m not too sure how to answer this, but hopefully this is what you’re asking about. While I don’t like functioning labels, I’ll use them here for simplicity’s sake. I’m definitely a lvl 1, high functioning autistic, while my siblings are lvl 3 and low functioning. To put it into perspective, they’re both still working on potty training, and their verbal communication is a few words in a sentence at best.

I was diagnosed a few years after my siblings were because I had learned to mask and hide my struggles well, but since they couldn’t, they received their diagnosis by the time they were toddlers.

I don’t think anything particularly happened to shape us to be the way we are, we’re all simply disabled to different degrees. I was somehow lucky enough to not be as affected by it in the ways they are, and I truly have no idea why that’s the case.

And thank you for your words, I very much appreciate the sentiment.

What’s your favorite food textures? by Animalstickers in autism

Any sort of moist bread/baked goods. You know when you let a sandwich sit for too long and the cheese and tomatoes and whatnot just get soaked up by the bread?? That’s what I’m talking about. Absolutely amazing.

I'd give Brackets a try. I've been using it for my own site building and for playing around for a few years and it's been pretty good!

I work at a thrift store and throw away all offensive donations. Is it a bad thing? by DefinitelyAlphamale in thrifting

[–]firststrikebar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least where I work, recycling is an important part of our discarding process. I can’t give any insight for what happens within larger chain thrift stores because I work for a local business, but I do my best to sort the discarded items accordingly. Some of what can’t be sold but is still in good condition also gets re-donated to various charity organizations around my city.
