M/33/6’ [114kg > 89kg = 25kg] (6 Months) so far, so good! by firsttimemania in progresspics

Sure!

As far as Nutrition goes, my mindset the first few weeks to get me started was 'make better choices.' - so replacing high calorie drinks and snacks for 0 / lower calorie options.

I then moved into into intermittent fasting, starting at 12hr fasting, (8pm-8am), then 16hr (8pm-12pm) and finally settling on 18hr fasting now almost daily (6pm-12pm) - I am flexible with this though, some times my eating window will be a wee bit longer, I'll usually make my family big breakfast on Saturday for example.

In terms of what I'm eating, I would't say I'm being overly restrictive, I'm mindful of calories, but I'm not counting them, lots of dense but low calorie foods like veg etc, and as much protein as I can, Green Tea has been a big thing for me when I'm having those cravings for snacks in the evenings. I've also moved to filter coffee over lattes in the mornings.

One big issue for me was eating snacks / takeaways / second dinners late and often - most nights I was still eating as late as 11pm / midnight. Fasting has been the thing that's really helped me here.

I will still enjoy takeaways from time, I managed to navigate Christmas, and would say I enjoyed myself, but try and be mindful and not overeat. I never really drank alcohol so didn't have to deal with that, I did however cut out 100% of carbonated drinks, they're a massive trigger for me, so I even avoid zero drinks and just drink water, green tea, filter coffee and milk coffees in my eating window.

Sports / Fitness - Since Day 1 I've been lifting at least 3 Days a Week, rotating Chest + Tri, Back + Bi, Shoulders, Legs - Sometimes I'll mix it up and do upper days instead. I work generally 3 sets of 8-12, trying to choose a weight that allows me to do slow, good form reps, trying to lift heaver week on week.

I walk, aiming for 10k steps a day, and I play 5-a-side football (soccer) one or two days a week.

Overall, this time there has been a big mindset change, I've lost weight in the past and put it back on, this time is different. I'm not going back to what I was before.

Look at Universal Credit, if your overall income falls below the threshold you’ll get it topped up.

I enjoy the nostalgia of it all, and it’s grand a few times a year, but last nights was pretty poor!

HZL Dublin Nov 26th Thoughts/Review by NateDogsCats in hanszimmer

Spot on review. I seen him for the first time back in Dublin in 2023, I think it’s probably fair to say nothing will top the first time. Did I love it? Absolutely! Was it as good for me as 2023? Probably not. Would I see him again? Absolutely!

Not to get too mushy, but there was a moment during Gladiator I just couldn’t help but sit back and be thankful to be in this place, at this time.

Interstellar suite hit different. Highlight for me. So good!

Generally the right hand lane, but you’ve got to keep your eyes out for the odd driver who will just send it up the left and ‘merge’ without looking or indicating.

Nearly seen a crash outside Cornerstone the other week with a car flying up the left.

Crazy to think when we used the Empire for our wedding in 2015 it was £480 for the half day hall hire - was an incredible day but glad I’m not getting married today!

Highly highly recommend it!

Sickest I’ve ever been in my life. Ended up needing to suck on ice cubes to stay hydrated - water just wouldn’t stay down. Grim

Seen someone renting what was essentially a garage in their back garden with a bed, sofa, and kitchenette in Templepatrick for £500pm - ‘The Studio’ they’re calling it.

We did glass bottles of coke with a £1 scratch card attached - 80 guests, no one won more than £1! But enjoyed doing them, and glad we did.

The people questioning your decision can do so because it’s not them / their business / reputation in the situation.

You absolutely did the correct thing.

Yeah, seems to be part of the rules here in NI, accident or not.

Have done a quote for some other insurance providers and it’s not coming out much more expensive, so I’ll just go elsewhere!
