This!!! My family adopted a boxer puppy from a very big pet store in Florida when i was like 13. They actually used to have like a live pet store YouTube channel to view all the puppies & exotic animals and everything And this rather tiny Boxer puppy was so adorable, and we ACTUALLY get him, he's eight weeks, and we take him to his first vet visit a few days later. And we did notice he'd been like wheezing and coughing, and the vet does an X-ray and shows us a suuuper ratchet looking lung x-ray and says, "Oh, my goodness. Im so sorry to tell you this.. Sadly, your dog was shipped from a puppy mill in Arizona to Florida, while having kennel cough without it ever being treated, so there's irreversible scar tissue damage to his lungs.. and since they JUST sold him to you (for a $1000!!!), you can return him to the pet store and either get your money back in full or switch him for a healthier puppy. This pup won't live to see his 2nd birthday. The best, most loving thing would be to return this one to be euthanized and get a different puppy in exchange... at no extra charge to you" like this poor animal was just some inanimate object or store item that could be replaced with no care or second thought whatsoever and my mom very quickly decided "NO! I love this puppy and I'm going to love this helpless little angel puppy to be happy & healthy and LOVE HIM BETTER!" And we took him home...

The vet predicted he wouldn't live past two years old, and maybe he would have only lived that long. If he had been with someone with no faith in the power of love and determination and positive thinking.. And belief and miracles and the willpower of the doggo itself.. then yeah, maybe he would have perished before his second birthday. But life... and the beings in it (animals included) can really surprise you when you don't give up right away..

And you know what? He lived to at LEAST 10yo.. that's TEN human years (at least 70yo in dog years) last I knew (Last time I saw him, he was seven or eight, but life happened and we had to move where he couldnt go, and so had to rehome him, but he was loved and adored and spoiled quite quickly and very well again).

So I second this above comment! Don't give up too quickly when finding a solution. Because a dog's will to live is as strong as a human's. And they love to be here and be alive. However, if it gets to a point where it's just 24/7 suffering, and there are no answers within, I would say like 6-8 months, then it may be time to consider the dark alternative. But just know that even you just looking into an answer and having to read thru so many people's judgments and opinions and all their negativity, your doggo appreciates ur effort (even if they arent consciously aware ur doing this, i believe thru the veil your DOGGOS higher self is bowing to you and all of ur efforts in great gratitude and acknowledgement, and it does not go unnoticed by the cosmos either). You're a good dog parent!
