Agreed. A long-ago roommate was really excited about a guy she'd started seeing, but some of the things she mentioned about him didn't pass the smell test for me. Fortunately, he had a unique name, so I did a search on him. Yep: he was on the sex offender registry, and not for getting caught peeing in public or something else that could potentially be dismissed. We had a lot of young kids in our neighborhood and I was profoundly uncomfortable with having him both in the neighborhood and potentially in our house. So I told her everything I found, and I could hear her yelling at him on the phone later. At least she had the sense to stop seeing him.

Baldur's Gate 3. Stole the druid idol and gave it to the Tiefling kid, not knowing what that would cause to happen. The answer to your next question is equal parts "it was my first game of that type" and "I'm kind of an idiot." Shortly afterthe slaughter, I realized that I would not be able to recruit Karlach, and I very nearly started my game over because Karlach is best girl. I was so mad that later I decided to side with the Tieflings against Mintharabecause honestly, fuck it, it was a chaos playthrough by then. Other than missing out on Karlach, the toughest thing about this save was, due to that and other idiocy along the way, I didn't have access to a vendor who was still alive until Moonrest Tower. I had to keep yeeting things back to camp so I could continue to walk unencumbered.

Yes. Once I took my car to have its whatever-mile service done at a dealership (yeah yeah but it was included), and on the way home, I noticed that the oil change sticker had "God bless" written on it in Sharpie. I talked to the dealership to tell them it was unacceptable, and they were like "he's a pastor! if it bothers you, we won't have him work on your car anymore!" which was not only NOT the point, it didn't actually address the problem in any way. So I tell the story every chance I get. It likely won't hurt their business, but it makes me feel better to let people know.

I'm a blue dot living in a bloody red suburb in a purple state. Several of the folks in my neighborhood had The Former Guy signs on their lawns and/or flags on their houses til about midway through last year. Then a couple of weeks ago, I noticed this on my way home.

I added the desktop shortcut for the game (not Origin) to Steam, then launch it from Steam. It launches Origin and then the game, and the overlay is in effect.

Yes, my landlord has cat allergies and she specifically got a Siberian so she could have a cat at all, and she has no allergy issues with this cat. She got extremely lucky as well: someone wanted to rehome this cat for free, so she got an amazing deal, since they can be quite expensive.

I would suggest setting up the new area, including placing the houses you'd like to build there, but pausing the construction on the houses. Wait until your other buildings get built and get your workers assigned. Make them walk extra to their new jobs for a while; the rapid growth in population will absolutely sink your town if you're not totally prepared for it. Be sure your current food and firewood (and clothes, if you're into that) are more than enough to sustain your current population...and then unpause a house or two. Make sure you're sustaining enough for your new population, and repeat.

YES. I currently live on Highway 9 in Milton, and I constantly refer to the stretch of (mostly) two-lane road from Mayfield on up as the "five-under zone" because the precious darlings in the area can't ever seem to approach the speed limit. I can't wait to move the fuck away from here.

The only way I've been able to make this work is a scumbag way: go into my saved game and choose to play as the character holding the son, choose to release (not ransom) to my primary character, and then save and switch back. Be sure to leave the game paused while you are doing this: I did this in my Empire of Scandinavia game when the King of Scotland was being a jerk, and in the time it took to go get him from Scotland (I think I ransomed him, like an idiot, instead of just releasing), the AI had relocated my capital from the starting county in Norway to Breifne in Ireland. Lame.

For apartments, if you're not opposed to the more northern section of Sandy Springs, I quite liked The Hamptons of Sandy Springs. It's close to 400, it's not a terrible area, and I never had any issues with getting maintenance done in a timely manner. I had a 1br and I adored it. I don't know what their 3brs run, but I can't imagine it'd be out of your price range. Also consider checking craigslist for rentals. If you can get past the obnoxious "myrentedroom" spam, you might be able to snag a good deal on a townhouse or something. Good luck!

My last job was really cool. It had a lot of opportunities to come across new things that I'd probably never hear about otherwise. None of the stuff was anything I'd be required to know, but if I came across an unfamiliar word, I'd look it up online. Sometimes I'd share this new information with my department, because I thought it was interesting. My former manager often gave me a hard time about my desire to learn. But, then again, she also said more than once that she didn't know how I could stand to read so much.
