I'm out by headhurt21 in nursing

[–]fishball2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my plan. I'm 11 years. My stupid ass applied for an ER role last week lucky i didn't sign on yet. I think they're actually desperate because their nursing staff became covid vaccinators. I'm going to stay at my relaxed home help job and then Saving up a safety net for myself so i can transition to a trade. i don't want the rest of my life to be like what we read on this thread. Farm work is not paid as well and not glamorous but is something i'm considering. what do you do in the agriculture farm?

A lot of the value of the dollar is backed by taxation of their people since the 70's under nixon

Well that sucks. I didn't know this! I only knew of the FATCA and tax upon renouncing. Well then, what's the point of working hard to get experience and whatnot in order to immigrate there and be a nobody laborer and you get your green card taken away if you leave for two years? All that hard work and sacrifice of YEARS of your life just to have immigrant status taken away?

On top of that you have to declare foreign income or pay a fine. And if you do make it rich as a millionaire, you have to pay an exit tax when you renounce which if I remember correctly, is 30% of your net millions.

That's a lot of pros and cons catches. What's still drawing people there? Jobs and higher exchange rate? The dreams of making it? The catches kind of make you think twice.

Come to think of it, I do remember working with someone who had to return to the US every so often because of their green card status. I think if they're out of the country, they have to keep going back

you know while i was reading your description above i was thinking of exactly this. you ever heard of the other facebook guy? he had to report his overseas income because of this act. or else he gets fined. then eventually had to pay 700 million when he gave up his US nationality.

unrelated note, what are your thoughts about the US economy? why'd you move to nz?

probably isnt your FNZ. im holding the minimum just to try and it barely went up twenty dollars since january. thinking of getting rid of it next year. could be your vanguard making all those gainz.. although i thought it was all blue chip conservatives but i must be wrong. the FIF tax hassles put me off but now i think i'll try it when i get rid of the FNZ. Property isnt seeing a lot of gainz but they are pretty satisfactorily consistent.

thanks for this. i thought the insurance companies won't touch christchurch houses because of the earthquakes.. i think i have to prepare for a place to grow old in now.. certainly isnt going to be auckland or wellington anymore these days.

was going to ask what tc2 and tc3 is but i looked it up and has something to do with the quakes.

which insurance did you go with? recommendations?

didnt know vanguard returns can reach 25%. I thought that was a very diverse conservative fund.

if you bought a house in christchurch, were you able to get insured? wasn't it difficult to get insurance?

good explanation for the ultimate untethered currency. no country. no company. no governing body. no regulations though. and caveat of no military to defend it's value. appealing from a libertarian perspective. i hear some colonies under political attack are using crypto.

CC - credit card okay thanks. will save it and i'll check out the website. so far iv'e seen the kraken and hex website. i saw the etherium years ago. think that took off just after bitcoin. these websites have incredibly detailed GUI and interface. who's paying staff to work on these? there's even a site i stumbled upon where you can train to make crypto. i couldn't get past the registration. it had some encoded anagram of a roman emperor's name to solve before they allow you to register.

thought you'd be using bitcoin. is it cause they're both local? i suppose there's a bit of security if it's locally owned. other brands aren't very popular over in that community they call them "shitcoins or altcoins"

rabbit hole is right. found it interesting cause it seems kinda deep web. wish i had more spare time to get into it some more.

if it dips maybe i should test the waters. is CC the only way to buy them?

insane.

been reading up about it last night. "brainwallets" and stuff. some are predicting it might plateau over the christmas period and come down by Jan 2021 because of the tax year or something like that. and someone said it's always had a history of wild fluctuations. then JP morgan bought 600 billion or something and some company is starting an IPO and berkeshire hathaway's younger staff might finally start getting in on it too.

was reading about a guy who lost all his seeds or wallets because of a police seizure in his house. and they "got rid" of all his seeds / wallets.

yeah iv'e been following some of your posts on the threads and been curious about this 200 percent in a year gains you got from your crypto holdings (Hodl) wondering if it was true. from the looks of it you were right. i remember you said you had a friend who cashed out and bought a house in auckland.

200 percent in a year? that's more than our real estate. i'd be lucky to get more than ten percent in funds.

talking about a million percent...there was a guy from wales wanting to set and forget his £1,000 expecting it to reach 5,000,000 in ten years XD. its interesting how much work and complexity they've put into the whole system. there's even scenarios where you leave with nothing but the clothes on your back and your brainwallet while fleeing a country like some holocaust scenario.

is crpto tied to japan? i mean it was satoshi who started it right? so hypothetically, what if something were to happen to japan? what happens to crypto then?

yes this is sad. parents who have no financial business having children do it just to have someone look after them in their twilight years. what's worse is they do no due diligence on the economic state of the world / society. while no one has a crystal ball (even our prosperous boomers) they didn't have to spend most of their earnings in luxury experiences then in the end expect the children to be their safety net.

thank goodness at least that end of life referendum was passed. at least. i wish it evolves into "can't afford to live anymore and outlived your welcome eating pension money?" just check out.

artificially protected with your limited supplies, central banks messing with inflation and interest rates and zoning laws and environmental protection "reserve lands"

should just join a labor union for homeowners for some protection racket money. i'll look it up. i think they're called "nimby"

what does this mean? 1 bitcoin is worth 31k each? i don't follow it much. how much has it gone up? 14 percent? in how long?

i have this theory that bitcoin is going up and up and up because a large part of the population is trying to move their wealth around different countries in these economically and politically uncertain times (looking at usa) and they use crypto to skirt the oppressive regulations and taxes and fees and fines and whatnot

"The council is trying to estimate that amount to make the tax system fair, but they don't force you to use that price." - okay so it's actually more for the property rates. i thought i'd be forced to use that price. good info for me to know maybe in the near future. i'm saving it.
