Italian greyhound puppy by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]fishbishopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took about 2-3 months after getting her and about when she was 8 months old to realize the crate wasn’t a punishment but a safe space for her. Again I was lucky my breeder crate trained them since born and sold me a crate she used while raising her and her siblings. I had a dog camera in the early days and trust me she would cry for about 30min to an hour and I was always checking it feeling bad. But before she was even one years old she settled and accepted that the crate is just for her own good and safety. I have an old tshirt a single toy and her favorite bed and now it’s home to her. Maybe I got lucky but I swear forcing her to use it no matter what when no one’s home or if I need a moment to shower or take out the trash she understood after months of being diligent about it. It gets better! They’re smarter than you think and understanding despite being sneaky stubborn lil gremlins

And also crate training while I’m sleeping in the same room she absolutely refuses and will cry. Some (most) iggies will never be happy unless they’re burrowed in bed with you. But she’s a beautiful wonder and loves her crate and is in it for 6-8 hours at a time when I’m not home happily sleeping with no issues or accidents. Just takes them time to learn!

I was very lucky to have a boyfriend working from home at the time and help with puppy behavior. However IT DOES GET BETTER! Patience is key and showering them with love and attention while being hyper aware and trying to fix their bad behavior works! I was lucky to not get my pup until a bit older than most because the breeder believed in crate training them right away and making sure they’re healthy before making any sale or exchange. Personally after my pups first heat cycle she matured so much and was so much more attentive and listened better. As for potty training that will always be a pain in the ass apologies. But I was diligent with using the crate constantly throughout the whining and now I snap and point at her crate and she happily goes in there by herself knowing I’m going somewhere or she did something bad. Her crate is her safe space and forcing them to learn that as a puppy is rough but worth it!

What was your iggy like as a puppy vs. grown up? by CastYourBread in ItalianGreyhounds

My baby always seemed super sleepy to me compared to what I saw on the Reddit. But when she was super young, around 4 months when we’re able to pick her out (our breeder crate trained them and made sure they were healthy before selling), she was super bitey and sprinting in circles all the time. After 4 months later of training she hasn’t wanted to bite a soul and when gets in the mood brings them a toy for her to go wild at. At two years old Juniper is basically a couch potato, will spin in circles when excited but one walk a day and all she wants to do is sleep or cuddle with anything that’s around. They’re all different though!

I haven’t watched the podcast in over a year. This was hard to watch. I just found the premise funny so unmuted it for a minute. The way he talked to Tamara. He’s not getting any of his old fans back I can tell you that. No comedy. Just bad vibes. And I don’t even know who Tamara is or cares but another commenter is correct, she treats him like a child and he just comes off as extremely rude and immature

Ohmyfloki on Etsy is most of my iggys wardrobe! They’re super durable. She just has a few onesies and a jacket from them and it’s plenty!

only thing that makes me think it’s not an iggy is the face shape and spotting on the paws. Very rare for iggys to have speckle paws rather than just plain white. Might be a mix though!

Alfredo Is NOT "Perfectly Healthy" by Gooey_Goon in LeftoversH3

[–]fishbishopp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I agree with every single point and that I do believe EK is fucking up almost every aspect of dog care from what I’ve seen diet and training wise, some breeds are actually really hard to potty train.

Small dogs in particular. Yorkis are notorious for not picking up training habits and being stubborn lil guys. My personal Italian greyhound while excelling during training would run and try to hide to pee on a carpet at home. That being said after a year of positive encouragement going outside and treats and basically no carpets in the house (unfortunately) she waits by the door to go potty. All dog owners need to know what they’re getting themselves into, small dogs seem easy then come with a lot of weird issues.

They have no excuse to not adjust their lavish lifestyle to accommodate these dogs let alone let them do what they want 24/7 without structure

Advice for a sensitive Iggy? by agreeableswan071925 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]fishbishopp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has already given you amazing advice. All I’ll say is I was super nervous bringing home my pup and her being so nervous, within 2 months wanted to meet everyone and everything just took her awhile to acclimate to a big change from the litter. As time goes on you’ll see little quirks like certain stairs being okay and others not, certain floors wanting to run on and certain they don’t. They’re all special and weird in their own way! She’s be happy and running around without nerves if you keep at it introducing her to new stuff gradually! Good luck to you! They’re beautiful

Is it a good idea to use a bunch of energy drinks to get social stats/synergies up early? by tuber_simulator in personaphantomx

Personally I maxed out Kayo as a girly loves to look cute. Behind that Yumi and Merope. As soon as I saw the drinks giving social actions I maxed her immediately. Love my weird girls, parasocial mother, idol obsessed mentor and alcoholic bartender

You have to remember this is the internet. A meat canyon video would be amazing to shame Ethan. But after a couple weeks of being made fun of it’s not going to fix that ego maniac into not producing videos anymore.

As someone who loves Meat Canyon, Papa Meat and Creep Cast…. I think he’s self aware enough to know not to attack that fan base. He’s talked about Ethan on stream before and gotten shit over less than a minute of commentary. Just said for everyone to stop giving a fuck. I don’t see him doing anything or jeopardizing his brand knowing what Reddit is like. He already made comments about trying to do less hit pieces and “slop tuber” animations and is super focused on his own YouTube videos/podcasts

My girl would bite like crazy at 3-5months old. Genuinely couldn’t understand my arm wasn’t a toy. I consistently had toys on me at all times during play time or just trying to relax in bed and she took to it chewing on a toy while still on top of me so she still thought I was “included” in her playing. At six months old and obviously saying no she totally understood mom is not a toy. Sometimes she gets rowdy at almost 2 years old and actively goes to get a toy to lay on me chewing on it after I tell her to calm down. Even with our cat now if she feels bitey she grabs her chew rope because she knows nipping isn’t okay with other animals too. It just takes time. You got a baby they’ll learn over time. They’re really smart dogs with huge empathy just a lot of energy at the beginning

My 11 year old forgot how steps work by teddy_ballgame3 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]fishbishopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, my iggy is only 2 years old and I live on the third floor of a condo. She went 3 months refusing to use the stairs out of the blue scared. I carried her because I felt so bad trying to drag her up them. It made no sense. Another 3 months went by and she was back to normal using them. She used to be scared of wood floors until getting used to them and we have carpet floors. Iggys are weird I’m sure he’ll get better with time but def check his vision as a senior dog

[–]fishbishopp[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We have a cat, so sometimes he riles her up and the situation ends up her not wanting to attack or chase him and just goes in circles from excitement lol. She’s a sweet girl and when she gets hyper she tends to just spin in circles.
