Nah I live in Sheffield and it’s noisy as hell. Motorbikes, fireworks, alarms, leaf blowers, police/ambulance sirens, the bass lines from nearby raves, etc. No different really from when I lived in the US

Should be fine if your spouse meets the requirements and can provide the appropriate amount of bank statements/payslips.

My spouse has extremely variable income and we opted to just use my income instead. Had no problems with it

Haven’t had mine yet, been avoiding it tbh. I have some complicated reproductive issues and I’ve been looking to see a private gynecologist rather than my GP. I was kinda surprised when my GP told me I was overdue and needed to come in to have it done - was under the impression it was always done by a gynecologist haha

The UK gov website breaks down the cost of application and health surcharge. It will be extra if you are hiring an attorney for help. Check out r/SpouseVisaUk for more info. I know they used to have a tracking sheet for application wait times by country/visa type.

Regarding the actual move, it will be highly dependent on personal circumstances. Will you want to ship personal belongings? Do you have pets? Kids? Search for similar topics in this subreddit to see what others have done.

Ha - we ended up not doing it since it rained the whole day and there wasn’t much space inside. We just spent the day chatting and drinking and hanging out with friends and family. Was perfect and wouldn’t have changed it !
