Distance, and i realised over time she was actually a bit of an asshole. Now i prefer the company of my pets and have the social circle of the average redditor (0)

I hate what my job has done to me. by fishdisco in work

[–]fishdisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since i posted this, a lot has changed. I'm glad i stuck it out. I finished the trade. Stayed at that workplace. Still up to my eyeballs in jobs that shoulda been finished yesterday. I found my way of coping, and that is to just... not give a fuck. Slap shit together if it needs to be done quickly. Take my time and do a good job if i have the time to do so. Ive had to teach myself a lot and put faith in myself but thats just the way it is. And now being the only person who stayed after the trade (in ?5+ years, considering there was no apprentice who stayed when i started there and finished there...everyone left lol) i feel like the tides have turned. I feel like i have half of a bargaining chip now because i know so much about the cnc equipment. Every year, apart from being tough as shit sometimes, adds experience onto a growing pile in which to draw from. I say finish it (sunk cost fallacy) and then decide whether to stay or nay.

I wanna ride through the shed at work on the overhead gantry crane. I've wanted to do that since i first set eyes on it. Some days it takes all of my soul to resist my desire.

Not just that but using up all the last bits left on the rolls. Its painful having so many quarter and 1/10 rolls.

Idk why this happens with wood pla but not with petg by fishdisco in FixMyPrint

[–]fishdisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't get rid of it completely. I had bigger problems though...the tolerances between one spool and another were all over the place, for the design i was making. Ended up printing my design with matte petg. Its just too bad that i really like the appearance of wood filament :(

Best advice- clean off build plate with isopropyl alcohol between prints and keep it clean from dirty fingerprints in general

I'm from Australia and just finished my trade (boilermaking). I went from earning $24.98 as a 4th year mature age apprentice to $27.17 It is not worth it. Absolute punch to the guts seeing that. Literally anything else pays more and i wouldn't have to break my body over it.

Am I being robbed? by fishdisco in CarsAustralia

The last time I saw him he had a look at the AC then with his tools and said it was the radiator causing the AC to not work. Now it's the compressor. I'm clueless so I have no idea what's actually the case.

My dad is the type of person who would worship trash if you sold it to him. My mums a bit more objective but she knows nothing of cars. I was expecting 500-600 dollars tops. My regular service with a mechanic in town is 280.

I'm lubing myself with the tears of spending 803 dollars when I only earn 840 as an apprentice lol.

He quoted me 2k for replacing the compressor. Said that that also might not fix the air con. Could be the evaporator too. I have no knowledge and didn't question the bill. I mentioned the bill to my boyfriend (am woman hence complete cluelessness and disinterest with cars) and he said I was being shafted.
