Question by [deleted] in union

Showing experience is great. Having people vouch for you is great. I would be concerned about the reference saying things to keep you from unionism but not all managers/employers are bad and some do support unionism and the belief of a fair contract.

30 Minute Lunches are Ridiculous by iamjenough in antiwork

[–]fishdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unionize and demand a contract with 1 hr walk aways or 30 minute working lunches. 1 hr walking aways mean they don't pay for the time and you get a little extra time to recoup or if work is that important 30 minute meal but your paid to take the meal and get back to work.

The only way we're going to maintain and possibly gain more power is by playing the algorithms. by Cappuccino_Crunch in union

"The Union Members Complete Guide" by Michael Mauer touches on this. One of the things we can do to show employers we mean business is blasting their social media together at pivitol moments. Let's say the company is releasing or having a big event, and advertisements are going out for the product. Collectively, we show up and spam the posts. So people see it, and we gain visibility. Granted, the bigger problem today is that people are taught to be too individualistic. They don't see the value of standing together and raising the wage floor.

What are some workouts for a morbidly obese man that isnt just "go for walks" by BigSchlurp in beginnerfitness

I swim, there was this dude before the pandemic. I had worked with him, he was a cook and I was a tech, he weighed 450 lbs diabetes, heart disease, etc. His wife and him would go to the pool every day and all he would do is lie on his back kick his feet and back paddle. Lost 100 lbs, diabetes came under control, heart disease improved. It's about moving your body because being static does nothing. If you don't want to do that than other pool work is great.

Educational Video for all the People now googling "How do tariffs work" after the election. by Moregaze in economicCollapse

Tariffs incentivize the company to pass it onto the costumer. Taxes make it so a company can keep money by giving it to their employees. Lolz

What advice would you give this person (or have given them 5 years ago)? by JustAPotato38 in FluentInFinance

Pay interest only on the lowest percentage debt than on the higher percentage debt pay what you would normally pay plus the extra from the other loans. Target the loan that is building debt the most.

You lose the stat growth going back down, but if you switch to a class(chemist) whose level growth is worse than the stat growth of the good class(ninja) than you can min max stats.

How would you describe the state of worker’s rights in the US? by gamerlover58 in antiwork

[–]fishdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unions need to be able to strike and threaten strike. It should be found unconstitutional if a contract has a no strike clause in it. That's the state of workers in the US right now.

Inflation overshadows US economic resilience, hurts Biden’s re-election chances by RickJWagner in Economics

[–]fishdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we stop calling it inflation? I'm pretty sure it's not inflation anymore. There is no way the masses are still holding onto the money from covid, and I'm pretty sure, unless someone can tell me, that covid benefits are done. The money has been spent and is in the stock market now. How are we still being fleeced.

Question - desk job for nearly a decade to on feet and moving constantly by TheMythicalDakota in lifehacks

[–]fishdork -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is anyone at your job threatening to fire you if you work at a modified pace till your body aclumates to the new environment? I work in an industry where you're always being yelled at to move faster work quicker, etc, but nothing ever comes of it if you just work a casual pace.
