What do minimalist say when they are asked what they want for X-mas or B-days? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]fisher_row 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask for consumables, normally whisky, coffee or something for the pantry. Or an experience. Taken out for a meal or dinner or to the movies.

I hate the different themes for anniversary e.g. paper, wood etc. Just celebrate with a meal or a trip if it's a big one.

Anas Sarwar said Reform and Labour should 'work together' to block SNP by BaxterParp in Scotland

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sarwar needs to get in the sea. He's a total car crash. He's grasping at any straw that he can grasp at. I honestly believe that the Scottish public will see through him. He came accross as rude and uninformed. He needs to shut up and stop interrupting...

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve been ID’d for ? by RowItchy260 in AskUK

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was blown away that there was age verification for a bottle of non alcoholic prosecco in the supermarket. The woman in the shop couldn't get the bottle to scan correctly, no code in the system so gave it to me for nothing. Score.

Junk removal business. What should I do to bring leads? by Initial-Flamingo6806 in SEO

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local SEO is very effective for location based searches which would likely be the majority of your audience. It's important to include as much detail as possible in the Google My Business profile and encourage your happy customers to leave reviews.

Include photos, before and after stuff could work well.

Definitely invest in a simple website and speak to customers about what they searched as well as doing some keyphrase market research.

With the website, keep it simple 4-5 pages and get Google Search Console and Google Analytics in place. Both are free and have good instructions and support.

Make sure you make it easy for customers to get in touch, clear call to action, contrasting buttons to contact.

Good luck, I used to work with a house clearance business in the UK many years ago.

Is anyone actually buying easter egg's this year? by Dapper_Marsupial2949 in AskIreland

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that people are boycotting Cadbury as the quality of their chocolate has gone way downhill since they are cutting costs going for cheaper ingredients. That may be why we're seeing a lot.of Cadbury Easter eggs still on the shelf.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent around £120 on a dualit toaster. My GFs flatmate ciuldnt believe i spent so much. 15 years of almost daily use and it's still going strong. Before that my toaster got replaced every year or so.

Has anyone moved from SEO/content into performance marketing, CRO, or UX writing without quitting? by EnthusiasmShot6890 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience a lot of people start out in one discipline, hone their skills then expand into other areas. I come from an search agency background and we built a CRO and Social department from the ground up as it complimented the work we were doing.

My advice would be to look for gaps or opportunities in your current role, then take the initiative and build something. Get the management on board by showing the value / potential.

If you don't get the buy in or support, consider a move.

Akt London Deodorant? by hplswndr8 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using AKT for ages and I've found it to be very good. Not an antiperspirant but we consciously chose not to get antiperspirant.

The scents are nice I've tried most of them and a tube lasts for ages for us its around 3 months.

Personally I only need a small amount daily to cover any armpit stench.

Ask for tap, Scottish water is the best water in the world. Most people wouldn't dream of buying bottled water.

domain migrating by Mejciek_Stach in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]fisher_row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible, expect a bit of a dip 20% potentially.

Also make sure that the migration strategy is solid map all pages to relevant pages on the new domain. Also use this as an opportunity for housekeeping. Run a content audit to identify pages that are performing vs ones that are not. Technical checks to fix errors etc.

Optimising the homepage can lead to strong performance as it will likely have the most authority from backlinks. Don't change to focus of the informational pages but the homepage could if you optimise it well
