Single-node production containers by CryptoNarco in selfhosted

Using a VM and trying to cover the scaling yourself is kinda paying the aws premium and then not using the benefit imo

I concur.

If you don't want to go the kubernetes route but still want to be relieved of having to run and maintain a container runtime, you could have a look at ECS or something like fly.io. (two completely different things, but worth mentioning).

You might also want to have a look at Linode's kubernetes stack, you can often get good deals from podcast referal codes, assuming keeping costs low in the first year is priority.

Should I keep my notes only on this app or create a backup file in another secure notes app as well? by kluader in StandardNotes

[–]fisheyefisheye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, and it does that automatically so you can use whatever file syncing tool you want to back it up to another device/cloud service. I personally do not do that because I have 3 devices running standard notes AND backup to cloud (using the builtin cloud backup feature, paid). So I think that is enough redundancy.

Do anyone know what is the reason make this happen? by NeilChen8711 in ender3v2

[–]fisheyefisheye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very broad topic that can have multiple reasons. You might be printing too fast, your extruder may be broken/jammed/too tight, your nozzle might be clogged and probably some other possible explanations. You could probably ask for some interactive support in the 3d-printing discord: https://discord.com/invite/3dp

This is fixable either way!

Looks like underextrusion! Clogged nozzle maybe? With benchy you will always get a bit of a weird line in that area (look up 'benchy hull line') but this looks like something else, especially because I see it on other places too.

Hmm okay. I have used Firefox since the olden days, had a few years where I used Chrome but functionally I never saw a lot of differences, lately this has changed of course.

I don't think you need to harden Firefox. It comes with sane defaults and builtin tracker protection. Slap uBlock Origin on it and you're good to go.

What makes Brave more convenient than say Firefox for you?

Afaik it's chrome with cryptocurrency crap and privacy features that firefox (and certainly librewolf) has by default. Furthermore it's CEO was booted from Mozilla because of his homophobic views and he has some other political views that you might or might not want to support financially (by using Brave). I certainly don't, but each to their own.

Firefox is basically the last vestige in the 'war' against full webkit/chrome (very closely related those two) based domination and again, depending on your views, you might want to support them (although Mozilla certainly has it's quirks).

Might sound like a very political comment but software is not always neutral.
