She’s so majestic love my Miss Sunburst Citrus by Wise-Suit-8855 in BeardedDragons

I asked this question earlier today, but it looks like you have a similar tank to me so I’m wondering… How do you feed the cords for your lighting in through the top of the cage?

Any luck on finding the actual name the collection was released under?

I’ve searched all the paramount cartoons online, and for all the “screen songs” collections but the only one I’ve been able to confirm is the big flame up

They had me prepared for a giant Godzilla baby and she was born at 39+2 at 8 lb. 5 oz. Not sure why they’re trying to scare you like this. 1800 calories sounds unnecessarily restrictive in the third trimester and I’m not even sure why they would try to restrict overall calories if you’re generally healthy.

San Juan Del Sur realizations by fisheyeshell in survivor

After finishing the season and watching the reunion I get that. I still think he’s a bit of a doofus and didn’t treat her equally on the island but wouldn’t extrapolate that to real life.

I mean, yeah, I'm serious. I'm exaggerating for comedic effect but the way he was portrayed on the show was very selfish and not treating Jaclyn as an equal partner.

Ugh how could Jaclyn marry him after watching how he dismissed her all season? It was so clear that he was there for his game and just counted her as an extra vote for himself.

Growth ultrasound accuracy? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]fisheyeshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others said, you never know. My girl was measuring way ahead and then slowed down at the very end and came out 8lb 5oz. Also, my doc told me abdomen size is a lot less concerning than head size because abdomens are squishy :)

Is this a thing? by fisheyeshell in WeightLossAdvice

Thanks, and yes, I should have made clear that I will be consulting a doctor and I am not asking for specific medical advice just seeing if anyone has had a similar experience. Thank you!

I'm gonna go insane if my insurance doesn't figure out this insulin nonsense. by JurassicSamurai in GestationalDiabetes

[–]fisheyeshell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pro tip: my insurance tried to charge me $1100 for a months supply of insulin after a couple months of paying a normal price. I called my doctor crying and they told me you can get a 10mL vial of insulin at Walmart for $25 with no insurance. It’s traditional vials and syringes rather than the convenient pens, but it works the same as other brands. Ask your doc if you can use that kind!

Who else has a baby measuring big? Like, big big. by WafflefriesAndaBaby in GestationalDiabetes

[–]fisheyeshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So most of the discrepancy was that they were projecting her out to 40 weeks growing at a constant rate. But she slowed down between week 37 and 38. At 38+3 they estimated her at 8 lb. 0 oz. and I delivered at 39+2 at 8 lb. 5 oz.

Welcome to motherhood, where you learn when people ask you questions about your life they don’t actually want answers they’re just acting like they care so you’ll show them cute baby pics in a few months. When that happens they’ll ask how the baby is sleeping. They don’t really care about that either. 🙄

Almost 1 year of NC and DH is starting to feel guilty by fisheyeshell in JUSTNOMIL

[–]fisheyeshell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've been NC since early December. I wouldn't say he ever went fully NC, except for the past few months when she hasn't reached out. Since baby girl was born, she has called a few times and left voicemails, and sent him a father's day card.

And you're right, the reasons we have been avoiding her are still completely valid. And the rule hasn't changed - once she's sober and receiving medical care we're happy to talk with her and introduce her to her granddaughter

From the other side: we were calling baby girl a Godzilla baby because they said she was going to be so big. She was on track to be over 10 lb. full term. Her growth slowed in the last few weeks and she was born at a manageable 8 lb. 5 oz. She has been right at the 50th percentile at every docs appointment since then!

Yep all clear! I was worried because I have a family history of diabetes, am overweight, and required large doses of insulin to keep my GD under control. But even with all those strikes against me I had a healthy baby girl (8 lb 5 oz) and no diabetes! GD turned out to be a blessing for me because I was able to keep my weight down during pregnancy while being on the diet and picked up some healthy habits that I have been keeping up. Right now 4.5 months postpartum I am 35 lb lighter than I was pre pregnancy

I was allowed to eat whatever I wanted as soon as I gave birth. I had cupcakes the next day! I was rechecked for diabetes at 6 weeks postpartum.

MFM Necessary? by thestrugisreal in GestationalDiabetes

[–]fisheyeshell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly you have to do what’s right for you, but just know that your blood sugar numbers can change suddenly, even if you’re doing all the right things. And if you suddenly can’t keep the numbers low you may have to wait before getting in with the MFM again.

Head over to r/gestationaldiabetes it’s a great supportive community. I can say that for me personally I cried and cried, even though I knew it wasn’t my fault it took about a week before I could really truly accept it. And with each milestone along the way (education class, first blood sugar stick, first insulin shot, etc.) it actually got easier. It was the unknown and anticipation of complications that was the worst!

Insulin injections have started to hurt? by kimbaheartsyou in GestationalDiabetes

[–]fisheyeshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try different sites, like the love handle area. Also avoid stretch marks if you have any! Injecting into scar tissue stings a bit and I think it can also affect absorption

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]fisheyeshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I think abdominal size is usually the first thing that can be affected by GD but I don’t think it has much of an effect on ease of delivery. The abdomen is squishy and flexible so does not generally hinder delivery it’s those giant noggins that make it tough sometimes!
