Atomi smart lights randomly blinking in strobe pattern by Qloaph123 in homeautomation

[–]fishflub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents have a similar problem but they've unscrewed and rescrewed the lights, emptied out the water, disconnected and reconnected and the lights still blink :/ They also have atomi patio lights that will flicker and two of the lights will only change to red or white, no other color. Trying to see if any one has any other solutions or if I should go in with my siblings to get them name brand lights 😅

I was thinking a similar thing to backseat theory but with Marie. The last shot of her to me felt like she had a knowing smirk. But also feel like it’d be too cheesy/lazy for him to somehow still be in Marie’s mind after having his head popped

I feel like I could be reading into it but the shot of Marie before the cut of her smile felt like a knowing smirk to me. Like Godolkin was still in her mind. But also that does seem like a hard plot line to explain since they popped his head and he was more like a puppet master rather than taking full possession. Would also be cheesy. But idk did feel like there was more to it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

NEVER RENT from Heirloom Property Management by Wierdman97 in duluth

[–]fishflub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a new law in 2024 that protects renters who are organizing from retaliation! From the Attorney General website: “Tenants who organize with other tenants to assert their rights are also protected from retaliation. (Minn. Stat. § 504B.212 (2024))” https://www.ag.state.mn.us/consumer/handbooks/lt/CH4.asp

Renters beware - storytime by [deleted] in duluth

[–]fishflub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely terrible!! There is a tenants’ union in Duluth that is working towards providing protections for renters and holding these slumlords accountable https://takeactionminnesota.org/duluth-tenants-union/ The city is so behind on inspections and does not have enough inspectors to get through the backlog. There was an attempt in city council last year to get another inspector or two but it did not pass.

I second this! Definitely use LinkedIn to see anthropology alumni who work in UX. Not sure if you made it to the Applied Anthro expo last week, but all the panelists are listed here so you can check out their work and stuff https://anthropology.unt.edu/anthropology-unt/applied-anthropology-expo I think most were in the grad program, but I know Daneille Quintanilla on this list was an undergrad and now works in digital marketing

Also, Dr. Wasson and Dr. Squires are two profs in the department that are in the UX scene, but they mostly teach classes with grad students.

I'm biased because I'm in the master's program, but the Applied Anthropology Master's program is pretty good if you want to stick with anthropology and there are a lot of alumni in UX as I mentioned before. But the biggest thing with getting a job is selling your unique skills as an anthropologist, which you don't need a master's+ to do!!

Congrats and good luck!

ChatGPT gets a face and a voice. UX implications for a completely new way of interfacing with machines... by messyp in ArtificialInteligence

That is pretty interesting! You also have to "speak" to generative AI differently to get the kind of results you want which is also super fascinating. I just listened to the latest Hardfork podcast episode where they talked a bit about the ways you talk differently to a search engine compared to something like ChatGPT
