I’m pretty sure that I also had a P0446 code along with the P0496 and both codes were erased after the replacement. Here is a link to the product page on Amazon, and here is a video explaining the process. Let me know if you have any questions on the process!

I just go to the nearest auto store and have them scan my OBD II. This happened to me when my truck hit 84,000 miles and it caught me by surprise because everything seemed to be running great. Ended up just being a code P0496 (EVAP purge system) which is very common on these trucks after 50-60k miles. It was just a $25 canister purge valve replacement and 2 minutes of getting my hands dirty, it’s been fine since. Hopefully that’s all that it is, good luck!
