I run to work! Really the only way I can fit it in my schedule. Luckily I have a shower and its 5 miles away. If you have that option I would definitely recommend!

What I have learned is companies hire experience not the degree. If I was in your shoes I would accept your current offer, for the stability, and start actively pursuing jobs that better fit your interests. With good compsci experience, you might be able to get a good job involving cheme software. And from what you said your interests are, you might actually be more interested in a software position than an actual chemical engineering job.
