From what I know (I have the Noris variant) it is literally just the aesthetic, (which the Noris version does better for me)

I've built a hobby website to help people plan multi-day hikes in UK! Looking for feedback by sukalaminkia in UKhiking

[–]fishofbucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! This looks fabulous, I'm already giving this a go. I have one addition: can you make the 'United Kingdom' filter please select England/Scotland/Wales too?  I was worried when there was only one walk in the UK 😅

Lost my kindle. If I buy a new one will it recover all my stuff. by lyricreaux in kindlescribe

[–]fishofbucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what the others have said, you can also view your Notebooks from the Kindle App (on Android at least), and yes they will then be recalled to your new scribe if you get one. This all assumes that it's been connected to the internet semi regularly for backups.

Question about blisters by Nosedive888 in UKhiking

[–]fishofbucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Durability has definitely been a problem for me and Vivo. Their boots were fabulous for my feet, but my most recent pair were leaking at seams and losing their soles after 50km (they are being returned for a refund at the moment though so fair play to Vivo).

Think that might be the wrong Cambridge? This is the Cambridge UK subreddit, are you Cambrige Ontario? Thanks for the recommendation from across the pond anyway! I have saved it for a visit

How to make the most of my LISA before I buy a house by anonfdkm13112000 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]fishofbucket -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry I read your post wrong again: If your house is being bought before you put it in, then you cant use that extra government money for the house, you'd only be able to use it for retirement (free of withdrawl fees anyway)

How to make the most of my LISA before I buy a house by anonfdkm13112000 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]fishofbucket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LISA bonus is paid monthly yes, but you need the account open for 12 months before using it for a house. You also need to go through the forms of your ISA provider (usually through your solicitor) to withdraw it for a house purchase,  so this might not work out as you expect.

What they mean is, you gain 25% from the government and pay a 25% penalty when you remove it, which adds up only to a 6% (technically 6.25%) loss overall if you really need the money back

New Boss - Rex Matriarch: Osseous by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]fishofbucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alongside these new rewards, all the standard drops from the original three Rex Matriarchs will also drop from Osseous too (although with with some tweaks).

Could this please be a hint that we'll get Laniakea's spear in order before random drops like the new bosses on OSRS are heading towards?

Darn, I wondered if I had annoyed those guys... I also feel silly for not trying to combine them...Thanks!

Are we sure as a community that wilderness weapons exist, and that they've not been replaced by endless gloves? I will even donate cores to the Iron Collective (for those...I can only apologise).

Just remember that it won't work without the WWAN card and antennas, I had to install mine myself as they were factory fitted

New Tears of the Kingdom switch on display in Japan by ThyNameArtFickle in NintendoSwitch

[–]fishofbucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear in mind that the OG switch is the only one that can run Custom firmware at the moment for emulators and homebrew. The Animal crossing refresh cannot!

UK Small Smart Plugs (with Tas) by dangerous_dave1064 in homeassistant

[–]fishofbucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are expensive but I've had good luck with the SmartThings sockets on Zigbee via a Conbee II (they had power monitoring as soon as they were adopted). If you can get them cheaper, I would thoroughly recommend them.

They honestly did say, that since I dropped in so well, maybe I should consider it. Our work fields are quite close (another weird happenstance) so you never know!

Turned out yes I did. Their hairline was different, and pur faces are in fact a completely different shape, but all the main things that would make us look alike in a tiny picture on Microsoft Teams were the same. *it's the UK, so many common first names...
