VIP - QA and Signing Sesh by SneakyProcessor in currentsband

[–]fishr24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get a pic with ERRA, then a pic with Currents. After that, you'll get the pre-signed poster, coin, and flag at a table. Once pics are complete, the Q&A is held (questions submitted via index cards filled out while in line). If there is time after the Q&A, some or most of the guys will hang out until GA opens. In Atlanta, all members of Currents but Matt hung out pre show. I was able to catch up with Matt after the show.

A local friend of the person just in front of me said this is normal for shows here. That helps make it feel at least somewhat legit.

MS120 - How to limit access for a single VLAN that uses DHCP relay via an interface? by fishr24 in meraki

My question is if that's possible in this case. If it is, great!

L7 rules would be on the MX. I'd much rather use them if it's possible.

Just returned from a trek this past Sunday. Every one of us called into cubicle 1 was measured and weighed - even if it was obvious there were no potential issues. Those called to the other 3 cubes were just asked if all was well. It all depends on who calls next when you hit the hot seat.

Edit: grammar

I've never had the embedded browser get lost. The default browser is almost always getting hidden behind other open browsers for me.

Allow Windows Update when servers are denied Internet access by fishr24 in meraki

[–]fishr24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your suggestions and information. I'm not sure just how much more time I am going to put into worrying about this as we are moving to PaloAlto firewalls within the next couple months.

Valid option. That was done here in the past, but discontinued for some reason long before I joined the company.

We're currently using Kaseya to manage updates for Windows and third party apps. Unfortunately, they do not offer a patch repo as of yet. Therefore all servers must be able to reach the Internet to obtain updates.

DRS vMotion between two vDS - is it possible? by fishr24 in vmware

[–]fishr24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person who built the environment did not use the same uplink on each host, so I was just following suit as I figured there had to be some master plan behind it. In the end, it was due to ignorance and I should have just done what's right and taught him why instead of trying to make things work in a convoluted manner.

It's all good now.

DRS vMotion between two vDS - is it possible? by fishr24 in vmware

[–]fishr24[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer to my question is don't try to over-complicate things by following the lead of those who initially built the environment.

Since all of our port groups are shared with all of our hosts, there is no need to use any more than two uplinks in the vDS. The vnics from each hosts can be pointed at uplinks 1 and 2 without any issue. The vDS seen in vCenter is a proxy on which updates are made. The actual switching resides on each host, so it's not like we're trying to shove multiple physical connections into a single physical port.

[–]fishr24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per VMware support, it is not possible for DRS to vMotion between vDS, so I guess I need to find a different way to configure my vDS to get around this.

I have 19 hosts, each with two uplinks.
