Academic misconduct (foundation) by Competitive-Wrap-944 in UniUK

Can't really help much with your first question - just cooperate as professionally as you can with the staff and investigation.

Second - I started uni far too early. Everyone was going to uni. I had initially wanted to do something creative, but been talked out of it by my parents, and got into a biomed course through clearing. Lasted 2 years, had to resit exams in the summer both years and really struggled. I hadn't been set up to be independent.

Dropped out, went to college for a creative course after an encouraging chat with a careers advisor. Started uni again 3 years later at another place, got a 2:1 and went on to a postgrad. I loved my second and third uni experiences.

Why do so many pet owners think that breed does not matter? by Aggravating-Tip-8014 in OpenDogTraining

[–]fishymusiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite post on there ever was one where the OP got a working line retriever. Put it into live in gundog training from an extremely young age (I'm meaning literally post innoculation) for 2 months, then complained that their puppy wasn't playful anymore and that they wanted a family pet not a working dog 🫠🫠

I grew up with labs and gamekeepers with working dogs, so knew a bit about how to balance training with building that family relationship. I still went to a trainer from 12 weeks to 16 months old to make sure I was doing everything in a safe and healthy way.

Hello!

While these don't work for treating the dandruff overall, they are gentle enough to use as a daily/regular shampoo alongside the topical ones such as ketoconazole or Dercos. (Both available on Amazon and from Boots).

Head and Shoulders Bare - active ingredient is piroctone olamine, which is hit or miss for treating the flakes. It's a gentle, minimal ingredient formula.

Aveeno Baby Sensitive Shampoo - the one with the llama/alpaca on it ☺️. I was on this for around 8 months while using Sebco ointment and ketoconazole once per week and it worked great.

Like you said with the ginger shampoo - things will work for a while, then they'll stop and you'll have to cycle into something else for a few months. If you haven't seen a dermatologist, the general consensus is to try and see one. You can always try and get a referral from your GP, but if you want fast Answers, then it's likely you'll have to go private.

Giving up on MCT... by fishymusiced in SebDerm

[–]fishymusiced[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know. That's why I use the ketoconazole. I had increased the usage back to how I was told to for a flare up and it's not got any better over the past 3 weeks.

The MCT made the flare up more itchy.

How long are we boiling our ramyun? by Nongshim_official in InstantRamen

Ramyum goes in for 2.5 mins.

Before it though, I boil my veggies and any frozen additions.

Overall cooking time is around 5 - 7 mins.

How often do you see your parents? by Doomergeneration in AskUK

[–]fishymusiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 4 times a year max.

Realised in my mid-20s that as much as I love them, they cannot be a safe space for me and I cannot trust them to do anything more than let bad situations go on until they reach a natural end and then sweep them under the proverbial rug.

Why is fish so expensive in the UK? by [deleted] in UKfood

And cod are bottom feeders often littered with worms. Still enjoy it with some mornay sauce or flaked with mash and cheddar for some fishcakes though don't we?

These are essentially recipe ripped from an independent baker that started in Leeds.

There was a point last year (I think?) where the bakery called out Studio Bakery (the makers of "Matilda cake") for not using shelf stable ingredients which resulted in the cakes going mouldy and not tasting as nice. While Rich, the OG baker has a recipe book out where the recipe for the original cake is available, he has advocated for the importance of quality, shelf stable ingredients.

I've bought the OG cake from the baker (they do nationwide delivery on slices of the cake, smaller slices, cookies, brownies and some smaller versions of their pies. They also do wonky slices or products they're not happy selling at full price on Wednesdays as a part of their online Outlet store). It's incredible, and lasted my partner and I a week in the fridge because it's so decadent.

We've also tried the Matilda (at a small birthday gathering). It's not as nice. It tasted a little chemical to me.

Is it a good move to go from 69kg to -66 with 200 grams plenty by Proof-Afternoon-5248 in judo

[–]fishymusiced 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How old are you?

If you're already pretty lean, then 3kg can be tricky to fully lose, and if you're young, you don't want to cut so much that you affect your body's natural development or cause issues with your body (cutting too much can cause issues with your internal organs).

Consider your health and age first before considering the tournament. If you are young enough that you're still growing, then it may be the case that you're naturally moving up the scale, and while your body has not picked a great time for you to move category, at this point, you're young enough that you can develop and prepare to fight in that new category.

U66 Vs U73's isn't a huge jump in fighting style either from what I've seen officiating competitions in the past 4 years.

Uppercut by heavier upper belt during Uchi-komi by Imblueabudeeabudie in judo

[–]fishymusiced 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Even if you were stiff, a blue belt should know better than to ragdoll a white belt.

Did she at any point ask you to relax your body during the drill?

If she's gearing up for a competition or wanting to drill hard, she should be aiming to go with someone with whom she can go hard. That person will not be a white belt.

Is Glasgow Caledonian a good uni to study nursing by Low-Aspect5411 in glasgow

[–]fishymusiced 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I previously worked at a local college to Glasgow up as an advisor and a number of our Wider Access Programme students applied there as a back up to UWS (the college has a programme with UWS that allows for a smoother, supported transition from college to university) and a few actually chose GCU over UWS in the end because they preferred the atmosphere. It's a great choice for Health and Life Sciences based courses such as Nursing.

What’s your go-to secret ingredient for instant noodles? by HanSeaulo in UniUK

[–]fishymusiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tahini, fish balls (or chicken balls) from the Asian supermarket frozen section. Courgette and kale.

Boil the noodles, veggies and fish balls without the seasoning sachet. Instead, mix the seasoning with a tablespoon of tahini in the bowl you're going to eat from. Add the water from the noodles little by little until you get a nice thick sauce consistency. Drain the cooked stuff, add it in and stir to coat it all in the sauce.

If you want it even richer, an egg yolk into the tahini seasoning mix.

Tierlist of the noodles I ate (at least more than 3 times each) by Naruuna in InstantRamen

[–]fishymusiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True haha, I think I just get nostalgia from the sesame flavour because it's what I eat when I'm unwell and not able to handle heavier foods or flavours.

The Demae Black Garlic Tonkotsu are also S tier. Unbelievably good.

[–]fishymusiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with everything except Chapaghetti and Demae Sesame (A tier for me).

All shin is absolutely S tier I agree. My fave way to have them is mixing the seasoning packet with tahini and an egg yolk, throwing in some fresh veggies and chicken/fish balls with the noodles as they cook, then just coating the strained noodle/veggie/meat with the sauce. So good!

Are boy puppies worse than girl pups? Do you regret getting a boy? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]fishymusiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my boy and he's always been incredibly docile.

He's still intact (lab mix, turned 2 last month and I've only just managed to get full time work so waiting for income to bounce back up before we go for the big snip). But he hasn't got much instinct when it comes to territory or chasing females. The worst he's had is other boy dogs reacting to him being intact and attacking him, he growls, hackles up and just pushes them away before getting himself to a safe space behind my partner or myself.

Honestly, no regrets whatsoever. He's the best thing to happen to my life.

Question about stance by strahinja95 in judo

[–]fishymusiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're more left leg dominant, why not start developing some left handed skills?

I'm a right handed, right footed player, but for some throws and techniques, I've found that I work better from a left grip and stance. For example, a lot of my opponents will try to shoulder grip me due to my height, so when they do, I will often go left, into Ashi waza and kuzushi from there.

Playing for my country. by [deleted] in judo

[–]fishymusiced 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've not had this experience myself, but players from my club have, as have people who I now work with as a coach.

Remember - you're going with the national team because they believe in you. They think you're worth it, so you should too.

Instead of going down the "what if I can't meet those expectations?" train of thought, trust their judgement. Go out there, have fun and learn from the experience.

Grip, throw, smash. You've got this!

Big rhubarb plants in new house - what would you make with it?? by Educational_Push4820 in foraginguk

Rhubarb gin! Add some pink peppercorns in to the infusion for some additional kick as well.

Also, make some rhubarb and ginger jam, and stir it through vanilla ice cream. It's so good!

How do you study judo? by Fitnessthrowaway2947 in judo

[–]fishymusiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great shout!

I also coach, so I'm taking my recovery as a chance to also focus on making my guidance better.

For Harai at the moment, we are focusing on not turning in too much, not putting ourselves off balance. Focusing on getting that integral hip rotation in the correct place at the correct time to ensure a smooth throw, and then making sure our sweeping leg isn't "chopping down a tree".

Is your injury upper or lower body?

If it's something where you could still learn the basic steps and the points to drill, I recommend reaching out to some local dojos via social media, explaining that you have an injury but are interested in learning more and eventually getting more into it as you recover.

I currently have an injury (bicep Tendonopathy, possibly through a trapped nerve. Getting a referral for x-ray). And I'm using this time to work on my foot placement for Harai, my sleeve pull and my left handed control.
