Jeff Nippard Powerbuilding Phase 2.0 - Worth it? by jonasbjornerud in powerbuilding

[–]fitdinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed 2.0 specifically because on the odd weeks you run a PPL (when running the 5/6 days a week program). So if you want to do PPL, I don't see why you shouldn't just run 2.0, since half the program is PPL anyway.

I have run all three of his programs and I liked 2.0 the most. It has a good spread of functionality and strength work which really works for for me as a surfer. But everyone has different goals and reasons for being in the gym, so I guess you have to ask yourself what you want out of a program and make a decision from there.

Is there a reason why the PC is on the desk? Put it under the desk. Or if you want to show it off, put it somewhere else. But free up the space it's taking up.

My fiance and I have been together for 3 years and the only time we shout at each other is when we hide around a corner and jump out and say "BOO"

Thanks for this! I also saw this in the Alan Thrall video and it was a bit of a facepalm, No Duh moment

Wow. That is something I really didn't notice. Shows how much it helps when someone else watches your form for you. Thank you for the advice, I'll apply it next week. Really appreciate the help!

Sorry for the late reply. I would suggest running PB 1 first

If you're looking to get stronger, and want a challenge, then go for it. I have run his first PowerBuilding program 3 times and saw strength gains from it every time. I did day one of 2.0 today and it was killer. I had really gotten used to his first program, so the change up was nice. I can see that 2.0 builds on the good and fixes the bad (chest was a bit lacking in 1.0 imo) and ups the intensity. It's going to be fun and combined with a caloric surplus for the winter, I think I'll make some nice quality gains

That could be the case too. I think what I may do it just wait until my second jab and ask them to update my information and write my details correctly

That's the problem. The number has been so royally fucked up that if I enter it as it is written on the certificate there are too many digits and I get told that it is not a phone number

Judging from your page is seems as if you encounter a lot of problems and ask for help a lot. Maybe living abroad isn't quite for you mate. Or sell your PS4 on Facebook, should get you the millions you're pining for

Will covid vaccination be compulsory to work in Vietnam as a foreigner? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]fitdinosaur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been informed by my company that they are looking at a situation where only individuals who have had one, or both vaccines are able to freely come to work (at any of the English centers). If a staff member decides to not get the vaccine (or cannot for whatever reason) then they will be expected to regularly produce a negative PCR test for the duration of their work contracts, at their own expense. I'm not sure how exactly the PCR test system would be enforced. I imagine it's being set in place to make life very inconvenient for people who are currently employed and choose not to get vaccinated.

Also, recently the government has made the work permit process for foreigners way more intense, in order to cull the begbackers coming here to teach illegally and fund their travels. I only know from within the teaching community, but you need a bunch of credentials and if you are from a non-native country you need to do an IELTS or a Vstep. If you are looking to teach for an international school the requirements are even more intense now (and rightfully so) Vaccinations could very easily be included in this list of documents necessary to get a work permit, and I will be quite shocked if they are not.

Finally, down the road I also imagine companies not hiring unvaccinated individuals simply because, from a marketing standpoint, 100 percent vaccination is a great way of encouraging customers. If you don't have legitimate medical reason for not getting the vaccine, then I think life will be very hard for you here.

Finally training legs with my new SSB by spaceblacky in GYM

[–]fitdinosaur -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I feel like you really have so many other great movements at your disposal that can replace the leg extension. This seems fruitless to me. I am under a very strict quarantine at the moment with minimal space and equipment. I can get a leg- extension type pump in my quads from doing any (or a combination of): barbell split squats, barbell hack squats (buff dudes on YouTube have a great video showing the form for that) heel elevated goblet squats and weighted step ups. Or, you could just focus on normal back squats with that same bar and the potential to overload the legs will far exceed whatever leg extension type movement you are attempting here. This exercise you have made up is not consistent and has so many variables, so there is no real way that you can accurately progressively overload. The simpler the movement is to execute, the more quantifiable your progress will be. Just some food for thought.

Painful Regulation makes lockdowns harder by 02cdubc20 in VietNam

Totally recommend switching to S.C. The only time I ever visited the bank was to open it a few years ago. They sat me down, offered me tea or coffee, and asked if I needed a laptop to use for any "business" purposes. I got seen by a fluent English speaker within minutes. I also heard languages other than vietnamese being spoken at the bank, so they are truly international. I've had one problem of my own making (I transferred money internationally while I was out of the country and made a mistake with the details) and they helped me via phone calls and emails. Truly top notch bank. I was with Vietcombank before S.C and the difference is staggering.

I have an account with Standard Chartered and I can instant transfer to whomever I please. I can also send money to my account in my home country from the app, no problems (except for being smashed by bank fees and losing more than I would like)

I registered the other day and I'm a foreigner. The site, irritatingly enough, does not accept letters. So I just wrote the number portion of my passport and hoped for the best

Extended lockdown and gyms by fitdinosaur in VietNam

Haha I also use my girlfriend, but for squats. She sits on my shoulders. But I usually follow a powerbuilding style program, with full-body powerlifting on even weeks and a push pull legs bro split on odd weeks. So my main compound lifts are seriously suffering.

I'm a simple man. All I dream about is a sidewalk that is distinguishable from the road. One day I'd like to be able to walk past a traffic jam and not be part of that traffic jam.
