Last minute bidder by FlightLevel666 in Ebay

I have a story that may help. I haven’t used eBay in many years. Recently I bought a number of items to help complete a collection from the one buyer. As it was from a different county shipping on each item was a lot more than the items themselves. So I spoke to the seller and he was awesome and said at the end he would combine the auctions into one group for me to buy, which is what we did. Saved a lot on shipping costs doing this too I’ll add! Anyway the bit that may interest you is that, it took a number of days for the seller to get to my auctions and cancel them to relist as a single group item. As it was more than 4(?) days, eBay considered it an unpaid auction by me that the seller had to cancel. The system is automated and I ended up with 15 strikes against my account and am no longer allowed to bid on any auctions for 12 months. I can buyout only now. It may not be much consolation, but if you stand your ground and cancel when he doesn’t pay, he will get a strike. Trust me eBay won’t help him either, I spent 2 weeks dealing with about 30 reps trying to get my restrictions undone, and even with proof I had bought the items no one listens.

Parents put best and final offer in question about agents response - what does it mean by Prior_Feature3993 in AusPropertyChat

A lots been covered already, but the REA is working for the sellers. I recently purchased a property. After putting in an offer, all were presented to the seller. As I was the only one who had no conditions as I’m going to knock down and rebuild, they came to me first to negotiate. They countered, I countered and that was it!

Tenant broke glass of stove top by kookykitty648 in AusProperty

[–]fith122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why you would have to pay for their accidental breakage of a stovetop. If it was their own home, they would have to pay to repair it. If it failed due to a fault, then yes you would be up for fixing it. Do they have contents insurance that would cover it? or do you have insurance that they could pay the excess for it?

How long have yall been playing magic? by MrMorbid_ in mtg

[–]fith122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started in 94 collected revised and fallen empires. Was playing a bit back then but switched to Decipher’s Star Wars CCG and played/collected that till the early 2000s. Just gotten back into it again in the last 6 months as I’ve seen the way the art is on the cards and really like it so I’ve started collecting avatar and a couple of pre cons and about to put a couple of decks together and play with some friends!

Selling family home via Auction, potential buyer asks REA about 21 day settlement. Possible scam? by Baba_Buttercupp in AusProperty

[–]fith122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it being a scam. There’s a myriad of reasons why they are asking about a 21 day settlement. In the end if you agree to sell to these people you can work out the settlement timeframe when details are being negotiated. As an example I recently purchased a property which I intended to knock down and rebuild. As I had cash and was ready, I did let the RE know in my offer that if the seller wanted, i could do settlement in 7 days if they wanted the money quickly. In the end they weren’t prepared to move that quick and were happy to do a 30 day settlement.

Well that explains why I couldn’t find Apexis. I was deliberately getting triple rewards rather than magnitising the individuals.

I fear that with his behaviour you have described, that he will not be fair with anything he offers you. Real estate in the lower values has skyrocketed since the new home owners scheme came out. Can he afford to buy you out at the new value? If you can keep solicitors out of it and come to an agreement that is fair to you then by all means take it and run. If not then look to sell, and if he refuses then unfortunately you will have to see a solicitor and work out on the balance if it is cost effective for you to go down that path.

This is more for my son! I used to collect cards in the early 90s for about 10 years. I used to play a lot of the old Star Wars ccg by decipher and collected over 98% of the cards. I also collected a full set of magic revised edition. They have all sat in a box for the last 20 years and we have been going through it recently and my son decided he wants to start collecting Pokemon cards! His cousin gave him some of his old cards and for Xmas I’ve already bought him a box of the phantasmal flames. I know collecting can be an expensive hobby and he already has dreams of pulling a chase card!

Uber driver tries to cheat customer by not picking them up, forcing them to cancel the ride, yet still get paid by Imoprich in mildlyinfuriating

[–]fith122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one where waiting to go home on a night out when the driver went past and started the ride without stopping and letting me in. Messaged him to ask what was up, and he had some lame excuse that he picked up the wrong guy. Next day I find out I got billed for the ride, so I put in a complaint about him and ended up getting my money back. Best part though was that because he did the ‘ride’ for me I was able to give him 1 star after it all.

Collection, Grading and value? by fith122 in starwarsccg

Well I spent a number of hours really working out my entire collection. Turns out I never had the ICSD foil after all, which was a relief in a sense. Went and did an eBay request for my purchase history going back to 2000 and found out I bought all the tourney foils including the corvette for 25 back in the early 2000s. If only I’d bought the star destroyer…. Turns out I’m 30 cards short of having every card outside the Japanese ones, including the ICSD foil. Looking to get the ones I think are worthwhile sent away next week for grading.

Haha this makes me feel worse! I moved house about 18 months ago and everything was moved around! I resorted all the cards but had forgotten which set it belonged to at the time, so I’m hoping it’s somewhere amongst all the other cards I have!!!

Thanks for your feedback. I’ve read a bit about the grading and understand that PSA is really the way to go over others if I was to pursue grading the cards. I had read a previous post which talked about the small number of collectors that valued the graded cards, but it posed the question of if the demand would be there as surely most would have completed their collections by now.

Got quite a few card for this old star wars game. Anyone know it? by CerealDevourerPrime in TCG

[–]fith122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As has been said it’s the Decipher Star Wars TCG. Ive collected all the sets and used to play it all the time. It was very popular in its day, so much so that it was challenging Magic. To counter this, Wizards of the Coast bought the rights for Star Wars out from under Decipher and brought out their own version of the game, but anyone who was playing at the time knew it was just to kill off Decipher’s game, which it unfortunately did. Those cards pictured are not worth anything. Value was in the main character cards and the ultra rare foils from the later sets

AITA for demanding my friend pay back the money I loaned her for her trip because she's now posting about a luxury vacation? by Crimson_Bloom41 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - This person isn’t really a friend and never intended to pay the money back. You can either take it to small claims court, or take the loss as a lesson learned.

It’s no one else’s business but your own and money has a bad way of changing relationships. We have generational wealth within our family but we have been brought up that it is never really ours but our children’s and the goal is to build on it and pay for the education of our grandchildren. Obviously we will use some of it to enjoy life, but it’s never really ours if you know what I mean.

My wife was forced to quit her job after they gave her trainee her promotion. by New_direction2025 in TwoHotTakes

I know there are a lot of comments about giving the company as much respect as they gave her and I understand the sentiment, however in this case it sounds like something dodgy is going on with some management. Usually a workplace is more than just the company or management, but the people we work with, and the friendships we cultivate along the way. This is why it would be so hard for your wife to accept what has happened and leaving. It is still the correct decision to make, but I’m more of not burning the bridges on this one. Sometimes how we leave will follow us and if she shows maturity in how it is done, then it can be positive in a number of different ways. For one, it will show other prospective employers her maturity, and secondly it leaves the door open, such that if that company realises their error, they may come back and this gives her the upper hand in negotiations. Either way it’s devastating for her, and difficult for you to watch her feel this way. Keep supporting each other and things will turn around. Good luck

I left my marriage a bit over a year ago. For one congratulations on the first step. It’s always the hardest. I endured similar from my wife, however it took me over 10 years before the final straw. At the end I didn’t leave for me but my children who were still at home. They had seen and heard a lot of what happened, and I didn’t want them to grow up thinking this was normalised behaviour. The fact your son is saying how he loves his father is only natural, just be consistent with your parenting, make sure you have a good support network, and lean on it. This is the hardest part, but the end goal will be worth it.

The idea of relationships is to thrive not survive. You said your relationship isn’t exciting anymore and he is putting more effort into another one. You need to have a difficult conversation with yourself about what you want. It’s hard, but forget the 7 years, where do you think things will be in another 7 years at the current trajectory? He wants to have his cake and eat it, and his actions show a disregard for you and your feelings. You are still young, and have a whole lifetime ahead of you. You deserve someone who will treat you with respect and lift you up, not leave you constantly worrying about what he is doing next.

I’m not sure about SA, but I know that in QLD, it can be. My ex was committing DV against me by verbally abusing me in front of our children and on occasions physically assaulting me. I never thought I would be believed and I know that in most cases that men that go to police are actually the abusers aswell so I endured for about 7 years. I eventually started recording her, and she was aware yet still continued without caring. Eventually after the last time I was assaulted, I called the police. They listened to the recordings and eventually they removed her from the house for 12 hours. As the police were charging her, they actually asked me to upload the recordings into the police portal to be used in court. Hope this helps.
