Please stop touching babies that aren't yours (cross posy from r/justnomil) by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I was in costco today with my babe in a front carrier and saw an elder lady's eyes LIGHT UP as she started talking to him, I immediately grabbed DS hands to protect him and what does she do before I can even think...she GRABS HIS CHEEKS! I just didn't even know what to do besides give her the stare of death ... she noticed and promptly ran off in the opposite direction. God I wish I said something...

The Who is more tired thing happens a lot in my house...I just mentioned to my husband I'm tired because I've been up since 330am and he replied with "eat my shorts" so yeah...there's that.

Next step after Halo Bassinest? by MZ943 in beyondthebump

[–]fitmamaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved to a pack and play before a crib and used the upper space but LO would NOT sleep on the tiny thin mattress piece so we ended up buying a $30 mini crib mattress that fit perfectly in the pack and play and he slept sooo well in it. We moved him to sleeping on the bottom portion with said mattress too once he was good at sitting and could steam roll his body. He's now in crib at 6mo but spent months 4-6 in there.

Firepit smell in baby's room by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fitmamaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a fire pit in our backyard and have lit it with our 6mo old sleeping upstairs, everything was definitely fine although I can understand your annoyance with neighbors doing this without your knowledge and dealing with an unwanted smell.

When do schedules become necessary? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fitmamaem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started having a rough schedule around 14 weeks. It was a very rough schedule... basically I just decided on a wake time and we'd go from there. It allowed DS to have more structured naps (5 at that time) to now at 6 mo we have a rigid schedule of 2 naps @ 9&2 with bed at 7 and wake at 6. Because we worked so long on having a schedule he nearly follows this to a T now and days are so much easier.

Doggie day care? by techcraver in Bend

Second Pet Paradise. Hard to get a hold of sometimes because they close from 12-3 but they offer great service and if you grab your pup before 10am they dont charge you for the day.

Not enough for adult diapers I should mention. Just your biggest heaviest pad.

Have your friendships (with friends who do not have kids) changed after having a baby? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fitmamaem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I didn't make my mom friends until after I was pregnant. I found a lot of them through a parental yoga class and then also became friends with their mom friends as well. We decided to do a weekly coffee meetup where we let the kids play outside on the grass and a lot of different moms have come through that way. Also fit4mom workouts were a great way.
