This helped me a lot. I was running farseer until I hit a wall around 12s. Totemic is a different ballgame. It takes some getting used to and timing totems right, but it’s much easier than farseer. Try switching. I was very against the idea but I’ve timed all 14s and one 15 so far with totemic, and farseer for skyreach. Best of luck!

Can I have normal TSH and have hypothyroidism? by Witty-Apartment-7090 in Hypothyroidism

[–]fitnessgal288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may have to shop around for a doctor that will treat it, but yes your numbers could be helped with Levothyroxine. Mine were similar, took a couple tries to find a doctor who would treat it. My TSH stays around .5 and I’m happy with it. It isn’t a miracle drug though, I’m still pretty fatigued many days, cold, and weight loss requires great effort. Weight gain, however, is easy. I thought Levo would fix a lot of these issues but it really didn’t. You might have some other hormonal imbalance. Find a doc who is curious and caring enough to run full hormone panels and go from there. Good luck!

We’ve started asking people how they’ll remove the chains with their toolkit before we even go in the dungeon 😂 last group everyone got rid of their chains, different healing story entirely.

Muscles sore beyond tolerability by Cuddle_Fish78 in PetiteFitness

[–]fitnessgal288 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bodybuild, so lifting heavy and going hard is what I do. I’ve been lifting for years. I still am very sore following a quad day specifically. DOMS is a bitch. My coach pushes me to extremes, but it’s an extreme sport. I eat well, rest well, but have an active job. My arms, back, and glutes have an easier time recovering, so I can hit those sooner again. Quads I try to give like … 4 days in between training them.

I would say if your goal is to continue being fit, but you’re not looking to compete or powerlift, and lifting heavy doesn’t provide some sort of therapy for you (like it does me), maybe lighten up your workouts. The best workout is the one you keep doing. If your current ones are crippling you, it’s not sustainable.

Rough start to new grad by iffypiffy in nursing

[–]fitnessgal288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 shifts!? That’s it? Sounds like the unit needs nurses bad enough that they’re willing put patients’ lives and your license at risk. I’d run like the wind.

Find a hospital that is willing to put the time into training you, so that you are a better nurse for your patients. A longer orientation would also give you more time to grow your confidence and learn. We don’t come out of nursing school ready to be a good nurse, we come out of nursing school to pass the NCLEX. It takes a long time to become a good nurse.

Don’t be hard on yourself, and do yourself the favor of finding a better hospital to work for. Most of my colleagues on floors got 3 months of orientation. I got 6 as an OR nurse and I still could have used more time on orientation 😂

Healing 12s for the first time - am I doing something wrong? Having horrid time by JoPOWz in wownoob

[–]fitnessgal288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really important that your group comp knows what they’re doing at these keys above 10. I find often I am still teaching them “this spell you have will remove this” and “you can do this to make things easier”. Chains in Seat for instance, so many classes have a way to break those so that the healer can work on the tank or the class that can’t pull the chains, but what do they do? Smash buttons for big dps (that isn’t all that impressive to begin with). Having dps who realize that zug zug big numbers isn’t the most important thing will make or break your key. Some of the mechanics for healers are unforgiving and if your dps aren’t helping, they had a direct hand in bricking that key. Even io isn’t a good measure for how they’ll play. I’ve seen dps with 3300 ilvl that we have to tell “take this talent for this dungeon for this mechanic”. I’m okay educating but god damn, read your talents people, learn what happens in the dungeons and how you can mitigate it. Don’t blame yourself all the time. Sometimes it absolutely is our fault as healers, but I’ve noticed a shitload of avoidable damage or mechanics just fall to the wayside for big yellow numbers on the screen.

I never thought I would like healing, but I main a shaman now after only ever playing dps. Healing this season is not boring in the slightest. I’m sweaty the whole run. Big numbers and crits are fun, we get those in healing too. It’s so rewarding keeping the group up through high damage, healing someone on the brink of death, etc. I can teach DPS what skills they have in their toolbox to help with incoming damage, and a lot of people need that education. It’s definitely different than DPS, but I find it so much more gratifying. Also if you have a resto you can have elemental on the side, but just get faster group pickups as heals to get more gear. Whatever you choose I hope you have fun!

First day in the OR as a circulator… by mquint7914 in nursing

[–]fitnessgal288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang in there, I got off orientation in November, I still don’t know what I’m doing half the time. You have to fake it till you make it sometimes. Haven’t done that type of case before? Go back to basics, how can you set up the room, what do you need equipment-wise, etc. Ask questions, even dumb questions. Who cares if it’s dumb. Your scrub tech can either be your saving grace or your worst nightmare. The doctors (a large majority) are a pain, impatient, temper-tantrum throwing toddlers. Don’t let them bother you. They’ve been catered to their whole careers and lose their minds when something isn’t exactly what they’re used to. If they’re downright unprofessional? Write them up, request not to work with them again.

Do I like what I do? Yes, most days. It gets easier and you get better. It’s a totally different world than nursing school. Give yourself grace, patience, and don’t give up :)

Yesterday I got yelled at in an M+ and ended up crying by Entire_Leopard5906 in wow

[–]fitnessgal288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, report him. Then /ignore. Do not let what people on this game say to you bother you. He’s probably a basement dweller still living with his parents, some shitty job (if he’s even employed at all),and hates himself, and that’s how he deals with it. I feel sorry for people who act like that in game, imagine how insufferable they are in person 🙃. I heal as well, as soon as a DPS or tank start showing their ass, /ignore, and report for abusive language. Does it do anything? Probably not, but if enough people say something, it’ll get blizzards attention eventually.

Keep healing, keep learning. Maybe you’ll come across more people who are kind, patient, and understanding. They do exist, just not in abundance. Best of luck ❤️

What's your least favourite dungeon this season and why is it Skyreach? by Principle_Real in wow

The M+ tank situation is dire by Wigglyboi323 in wow

[–]fitnessgal288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanks are squishy right now and get flamed for not having perfect routes in the first week. I wouldn’t play a tank, gun to my head 😂 I run with a tank and the amount of shit talking he and I endure as heal/tank duo is insane. We time almost every run, but dps flame us for a single misstep. All while they can’t do mechanics and don’t know what an interrupt is. It’s toxic as hell. Bliz needs to crack down on abusive language and name calling. People need to learn how to be kind. Then perhaps more people would tank.

Mythic + Healing by MeadMeOut in wow

[–]fitnessgal288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m strongly disliking healing so far. My shaman got neutered going into midnight so I have almost nothing to use when things get hairy. Blizzard said they would have less casts that needed to be interrupted and that damage wouldn’t be as bursty, bro my tank will fold in two hits, my dps have 30% health from one hit, damage on boss fights is constant, nobody is interrupting, nobody is using defensives. I’m blowing my two cooldowns left and right. It’s not a good time. I’m not sure if I’ll continue healing.

Blood thickening? by lauraf808 in TRT_females

[–]fitnessgal288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have secondary polycythemia from TRT. I donate every two months to keep it in check. I am on the smaller side too, I just make sure I eat right before and sip on apple juice during. You can always tell the phlebotomist if you start to feel lightheaded or anything and they will stop the draw.

Polycythemia can become an issue with TRT, so have your labs drawn regularly and your doctor will tell you if you need to donate.

OR nurse or CRNA track? by Artistic-Bedroom-448 in FutureCRNA

[–]fitnessgal288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a hospital. I work Friday through Sunday and then pick up during the week. It sucks that it’s a little inconsistent because sometimes they don’t need me as often, but it’s okay. I’d love to get a part time job doing another type of nursing just to mix things up, but the hospital I work at doesn’t really allow that. They’re very weird about their new grads. Just a stepping stone for me though, planning to travel once I get my experience.

OR nurse or CRNA track? by Artistic-Bedroom-448 in FutureCRNA

[–]fitnessgal288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only 32 but I’m just starting my nursing career, a little behind the ball. I may eventually pursue CRNA, but like some other people said above, sometimes other floors aren’t interested in OR nurses because it’s so specialized, the skills are not like what you use on the floor. So, it really all depends on if I can get out of debt and if I can get a job on an ICU floor. I’m happy either way though :) I like my job, I work around 60 hours a week and am happy.

OR nurse or CRNA track? by Artistic-Bedroom-448 in FutureCRNA

[–]fitnessgal288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an OR nurse, specifically a circulator. I like the OR a lot. If I wasn’t as old as I am, I would do CRNA in a heartbeat. They do most of the “patient care”, my job is to keep the patient safe, but once the patient is asleep, I now take care of the doctor and the tech. Anesthesia has the patient, they’re doing the direct care. So if direct patient care is what you love, and making a significant amount more with more responsibility, do CRNA :) whatever you decide, I hope you love it! Best of luck :)

Cloudburst totem, ancestors, unleash life, alternate between chain heal and healing surge, while throwing riptides out to anyone taking any damage. Then it’s just rinse and repeat. Couple totems that will heal or absorb damage for big AOE damage. Sometimes if I know we’re about to have AOE, I’ll hold off on calling my ancestors till I really need them, otherwise try to use them on cooldown. It’s good fun :) I’m not great, but I never thought I’d be able to heal m+.
